Eden Hazard

Only idiots don't want that. It would be pretty ridiculous to sign a player destined for the first team for £30m+, and REFUSE to give him the only first team number available.

Raúl's famous number 7 was given to someone else within seconds of him leaving, ffs.

I completly agree with you there. There is no point in ruling Drogba's number out, on the contrarery Hazard should be given the number to be shown how much he is appreciated and that we are rellying on him.

Numbers should be ruled out only in special occasions and I only witnessed it in ice hockey.

Number 11 would suit Hazard well.

It's not even debatable tbh, he cost over £30m, he will be a first team player, and there is only 1 first team number available...Simple logic.

It would be absolutely unacceptable if he ended up with any other number under the circumstances, Kenyon would certainly be rolling in his grave.

Logically speaking he should be offered nr. 11, yes, but he may have some other preference. And is Kenyon dead?

Kenyon was smart and understood the marketing importance of numbers. Hence why he upset Gallas by giving in to Adidas/Ballack's representatives, by switching his number to 3 without his permission.

If Hazard has a similar impact as Mata in his first season then i'll be over the moon. He's only 21 years of age and we have to be patient because at the end of the day the chances of him having an absolute blinder in his first season like Arjen Robben is probably unlikely even though it could happen. He's got brilliant touch, technique and awareness and he will along with Ramires offer us a counter attacking option which is absolutely vital.

There are no quotes anywhere.

You do realise if he said that, 'either in print or audio', it would be on Sky/BBC etc like wild fire!.

It's only a number? He said that when he was with Belgian team to Belgian press. Really doubt foreign press spots that if no media in Belgian whatsoever thinks this is newsworthy. That's why there are no quotes; it had no importance.

That's not true at all, sites like goal.com pick up on all types of trivial shit.

The news of his jersey number means Chelsea fans can start placing orders, it's a multi-million pound industry. So naturally for a signing of this nature, it would certainly be big enough news to reach these shores.
