I'm really intrigued to see what commences after this. It's now basically confirmed Biden will win, but there are quite a few question marks over the validity of the mail-in ballots. No doubt Trump and his billions will be hiring the best attorney's in the world.

Will Biden secure his seat as president, or will Trump not go down without a fight? Find out next time on the dramatic season finale of Dragon Ball Z the year 2020.

Pennsylvania GOP Sen. Pat Toomey to NBC:

"I saw the president's speech last night. It was very hard to watch. The president's allegations of large-scale fraud and theft of the election are just not substantiated. I'm not aware of any significant wrongdoing here."

Yeah those mail in ballots are definitely weird to me.

I would definitely like to see some information about that.

I reckon even if they were all validated, Biden would still win.

Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford on CBS responding to Trump campaign:

"This six-page complaint that they filed late last night is, in a word, garbage."

what's the problem with mail in ballots? they have always been there.

Trump is just full of shit trying to raise doubts about the legitimacy of voting by mail to steal the election. 0% truth in that. Trump lost the election fair and square and his efforts to fight against the inevitability of his demise are so far pretty pathetic

^^ this!
folks seem to be buying the lies from trump.... despite the complete lack of any evidence. There is nothing weird about mail in ballots (some of which were actually in drop boxes) esp in the middle of a pandemic.

They are actually more secure than in-person because there is a paper trail with signature!

Consider that that's how a lot of military folks vote and some states have been doing that for decades (e.g. CO).

The accuser needs to provide proof. That's how things work.

Whiner in chief.

Well they have always been sketchy.

Take a look at this report from the NY times years ago about this issue.

Error and Fraud at Issue as Absentee Voting Rises

https://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/07/us/politics/as-more-vote-by-mail-faulty-ballots-could-impact-elections.html

In Florida, absentee-ballot scandals seem to arrive like clockwork around election time. Before this year’s primary, for example, a woman in Hialeah was charged with forging an elderly voter’s signature, a felony, and possessing 31 completed absentee ballots, 29 more than allowed under a local law.

Voting by mail also played a crucial role in the 2000 presidential election in Florida, when the margin between George W. Bush and Al Gore was razor thin and hundreds of absentee ballots were counted in apparent violation of state law. The flawed ballots, from Americans living abroad, included some without postmarks, some postmarked after the election, some without witness signatures, some mailed from within the United States and some sent by people who voted twice. All would have been disqualified had the state’s election laws been strictly enforced.

there is the possibility of fraud everywhere. The crux of the lies by trump is entirely about how widespread it is. Literally an ongoing conspiracy theory by the person most likely to being able to actually carry it out, due to him being president (according to his own administration when used "the amazing powers of the US presidency" as a legal argument several times).

Besides, no problem here then since Florida went to trump to avoid "socialist" Biden lol

Quote

“The problem,” said Murray A. Greenberg, a former county attorney in Miami, “is really with the collection of absentee ballots at the senior citizen centers.” In Florida, people affiliated with political campaigns “help people vote absentee,” he said. “And help is in quotation marks.”

Voters in nursing homes can be subjected to subtle pressure, outright intimidation or fraud. The secrecy of their voting is easily compromised. And their ballots can be intercepted both coming and going.

and the same article says republicans were more likely to vote by mail (likely including military) and they talk about how Bush won by counting the mail in.

Once again, we are in the middle of pandemic, but instead of making mail in voting easier and safer, the president tried to undermine it as a winning strategy. It will fail because his loss will be in multiple fronts.

I have no problem with anyone winning, what I want is transparency, as this mail in ballots give a very bad vibe.

Not just for now but for the future as well.

fair enough.

I disagree though, especially in the middle of a pandemic (which is not being handled well in the USA) as I merely think it's a matter of will: to make it work as CO clearly does.

The penalty for fraud should be a strong enough deterrent -- it is pretty steep.
