Boris Johnson cannot "bludgeon" Scotland into seeing the world in the same way that he does, Nicola Sturgeon has said.

She spoke with the Prime Minister in a phone call on Friday following the election in which the Conservatives swept to a large Commons majority, while the SNP won 48 of the 59 Scottish seats.

Downing Street said that in the call, Johnson "made clear how he remained opposed to a second independence referendum".

However, speaking at the V&A Museum in Dundee today as she joined her party's newly-elected MPs, Sturgeon insisted it is unsustainable for the Tories to keep saying no to a fresh vote.

TACTICAL VOTING - CRAZY FIND

I went to the analytical results.

There are 650 seats and I could n't look into all of them but I looked into 64 cases, the letters V, W and Y.

I concentrated on seats won by the CONS that could have changed hands with tactical voting. The LAB-LIB wins and the easy Tory wins did not matter to me.

Out of the 64 I found 15 !

That makes what over the lot of 650 seats ?

150 seats maybe ?

Thereabouts !

Now in 4 cases out of the 15, the Libs were denied because Labour did n't help or Labour and the Greens did n't help.

In the remaining 9 cases Labour was denied through the inaction of the Liberal voters, Greens, Plaid Cymru voters.

So YOU gave it to Boris - and a hey and a ho !

So all the talk about tactical voting affected only me, my friends Andy and Deborrah from Cardiff and another bloke I met in a pub - Tim, Teddy what was his name ?

we have a political party here in Sweden that for 2 elections (2002 and especially 2006) had the best political platform I have even seen

but in September 2008, right after I had turned 16 a few months before, they had an internal election and switched from being fairly Euro-sceptic to full blown in favour of a complete integration.

then, after the 2014 election, they went from being sensible on immigration to full blown in favour of radical increasing refugee intake, which had a disastrous result and help lead to rise of the far right Sweden Democrats after the Syria nightmare crisis (it smashed us and Germany the worst)

I have no real home now politically here or in the UK (I vote Labour in the UK, but I am not a full blown socialist at all, and I also detest Blairite neoliberalism)

I suppose you could call me a left libertarian but I also have some dirigisme leanings as well, in terms of over-arching directional steerage by the state (just done at a more decentralised paradigm in terms of actual implementation than a traditional dirigisme proponent would put forth. I believe in a robust BUT also highly regulated (in terms of systemic guardrails) decentralised form of capitalism in most sectors (not ones regarding human rights such as healthcare). I also am a massive proponent of unions, but again, prefer a decentralised model there. I am a massive booster of entrepreneurship as well.

but the wee bit no part comes from the fact that we have incredibly broad rape laws

so often the stats are skewed

but they still had sex, and know she looks back and feels that he raped her at that time

and they had sex maybe 30 times then in that 9 months period

that goes down as 30 rapes

also, the legal definition of rape is crazy here

just look at the Assange case

changed policy to plough the SIDEWALKS first, NOT the roads

they said because women used sidewalks more than men

so it is sexist to do streets first

they dumped DOUBLE the snow into the streets and caused 6 hour traffic delays and so many accidents

they fucked up the whole metro area for 3 days

so they had to rescind the order

The new waves come from decades of shattered lives and war torn milieus, they have little to no multi-generational family histories of success and resources to fall back upon., plus the sheer numbers are overwhelming the system and culture here.

It's a mixed bag.
They actually did support some junta governments when there was no communist danger to justify it.

We all know as @Atomiswave and @Vesper have also said that Trump, Johnson, and other World leaders are scoundrels. 

Interestingly their status is actually reinforced by their unpopularity. It is a psychological trait that when they say something offensive, or crassly stupid, the people offended get a dopamine hit from being outraged and pointing out their idiocy either verbally or social media. Thus the cycle continues.

Guess what I am saying that the macro-ecomomic/political situation is generally beyond our control - apart from being allowed to put a cross on a bit of paper every four years. 

The old anarchist slogan 'if voting changed anything, they'd ban it' rings true every time. There is another slogan from the old Anarcho/Socialist tradition ' Look after your own garden' -ie work in your local area politically. Be it helping people, co ops, raising awareness of local issues. This is really empowering, rather than moaning about Trumps latest tweet and if everyone did this would make a REAL difference.
