It’s hard to figure out why Hamas would launch a missile attack against Israel. They can’t possibly win. Their missiles are useless, and seldom hit anything before the Israelis blow them up.

Because it is the only thing they can do to try to live. Because you've kicked them out of their houses, you've taken their land, you've kicked their relatives out of the country, you're actively doing everything in your power to make their lives living hell by trapping them in a huge prison, controlling everything they need to live like water, food and electricity, and subjecting them to daily racist harassment and oppression and attacking them by the most advanced weapons in the world every couple of years destroying their homes and killing hundreds of their family and children. And this is the only way they can resist because you targeted all the less extreme resistance and forced people to join Hamas and Hezboullah.

There is no way that IDF don't have the intel and technology to do something other than a ground offensive... Hamas certainly won't have the intel to mask themselves that well from state of the art technology. Also, the USA disgust me with their whole stance on this. Hamas are pathetic. A few years back, most of the western world saw them as radicals, extremists and terrorists. The Arab world didn't like them either, but we (Egypt) tried to avoid them and avoid giving them real credibility by empowering the Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbass, and ignoring them as much as possible. We were simply passivists as usual during Morsi and Mubarak which is pathetic really. Recently (about a year ago), Arab countries such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain and others, clearly viewed them as terrorists. Hamas feels that they are somehow dead as the only two countries that back them up are Qatar and Turkey ( they also back the Muslim Brotherhood and that is no secret). Hamas simply want to redeem themselves. What is better than to demonstrate the brutality of the IDF to the world?

So they fire harmless rockets that will only scare people and invite Israel to react the way they always do. Israel never cared about Palestinian civilian lives before and surely will not in this conflict. Hamas are under the delusion that they will be precieved as victims, but this back fired clearly at them especially that they have 1)started it, 2)refused cease fire allowing IDF to continue with their terroristic military behaviour. If Hamas are terrorists because they attempt to use the blood of their people for redemption, IDF are also terrorists for accepting Hamas's invitation and pulling the trigger to spill the blood of 100s of innocents (up till now). Most people who are actually against the acts of Israel are also against the acts of Hamas. The one thing they want is to stop the killing of innocent children, women and men.

Here is a sad part, Obama doesn't s see that the damage done is to Gaza infrastructure. He sees it as damage to Hamas infrastructure. Gives you an indication of what that means as far as differentiating between Hamas and Palestinians. And he also talks as if the civilian lives lost on both sides are the same as far as numbers, as if he doesn't know that only 1 civilian (who according to Isrealis was giving IDF soldiers food) died, while 70% of 500+ civilians have been killed in Gaza. Yeah all civilian lives are the same imo, but they way it is said by Obama, indicates that both are really suffering. That is SAD.

• 1945 : US is the first, the last and the sole country to use the atomic bomb on people targets, killing in the proccess between 130 000 (according to the (US Department of Energy) and 240 000 (according to some historian) people.
• 1955-1975 : Vietnam war. US dropped 7 millions of tons of bomb, which is twice as much as what the Allied did during the WW2, killing something like one million civilians in the process. They massively used phosphorus bombs, which after have been recognised as war crime and/or banned from use against civilians. They also used the Orange Agent, which has been and still is devasting for the civilians — and even for the US soldiers ! Etc..
• 1973 : they helped Augusto Pinochet to take the power. Enough said.
• Since 2001 they attacked Afghanistan and Irak, driving these two country and its people into chaos. not to mention Abou Ghraib, etc...
• Oh, and Guantanamo and all its secret prisons all over the world.

Really, Obama, and any US president cannot condemn Israel. He can condemn Putin and that kind of presidents/countries, because they do not belong to the "Occident World", they are historically the bad men. But Israel belongs to that so called Occidental world ; to condemn Israel would be condemning what US is doing, right now, in Afghanistan and Irak, to condemn what they did ever since the end of the WW2.

And finally, since 2001 and they declaration of war against terrorism and the "axe of evil", US have declared the war to the muslim and the arab world. If only those were the only things they did. They have dirtied their hands everywhere around the globe. They even helped overthrowing democracy here in Brazil in favor of a dictatorship that was aligned with their interests in 1964. And they have the audacity to pose as defenders of democracy.

Israel are losing that argument. In fact, they are losing the whole media war thanks to social media. Any news is spread around the world instantly with images, videos and proof. There are live streams 24 hours a day of Gaza so you cam see everything that is actually happening. Everyone can see they are targeting civilians, especially after the Shuja'ia massacre. I have honestly never seen so many foreign people change their views about Israel and the whole struggle more than in this crisis.

Horrible footage tonight on ch4 of an unarmed young palestinian civilian searching for his dead family among the ruins. Suddenly an israeli sniper shoots him and he falls among the bricks. Hes moving, and then another shot rings out and hes hit again. But hes still alive! Then 10 seconds later hes shot again, finished off.

Its like when that blacķ soldier is picked off by a sniper in Full Metal Jacket - except this is no movie, just sheer cowardly slow execution.

His body has been there for two days, all rescue workers and paramedics are shot at.

The bigger picture doesnt get mentioned by the corporate media either. The fact that so much of 'israeli land' is an illegal occupation according to the UN, and that before the current slaughter, a palestinian child is killed every three days on average.

All you can surmise from this is that israel, and the western govt parties that israeli billionaires donate to, value palestinian lives as worthless.

So, Israel has already been funded in this war and given over a half a billion dollars from the U.S. Israel is asking for 225 million dollars more, for enhancing the Iron Dome. As if the rockets of Hamas are actually overcoming the iron dome now. LOL. I am really feeling bad for the American citizens. Their economy is in a bad shape and their infrastructure is at critical point, yet the politicians choose to screw them over for a war that is not theirs. I don't know how much their economy will be able to take if the "war seekers", the republicans, win the next elections.
