Agree. He's the reason I don't think Juve will really feel the impact of Pirlo eventually losing his spot/leaving/hanging up his boots.

In terms of style, they look like the Barca of old. Rijkaard's Barcelona. Messi is the Ronaldinho of this version, only twice as good. Unbelievable.

Rakitic is fantastic. He's the 'modern' donkey. A very hard working and selfless player, constantly covering and always full of running. But he's very good on the ball as well. At first, it looked like he might not make it. I didn't think it was going to work out myself. But he managed to adapt and now he's a key player. For me at least. Credit to him.

Regardless of whether Fabregas is a better player or not, they made the right decision to sell him. Fabregas-Busquets-Iniesta was never going to work.

And credit to Suarez as well. I was wrong because I didn't think he would succeed at Barca. He's made adjustments to his game and has put the team ahead of personal glory. I never expected Suarez to play second fiddle to Messi. Something Ibra was not prepared to do.

completely agree with your assessment of rakitic. He was fantastic yesterday, keep making run into spaces that Messi left.

Can anyone go into a bit more depth of what this will mean for the coefficients? If an Italian team wins either competition will England lose a Champions League place? If so when will it take effect?

Here someone posted this a couple of pages back:

I don't really care who go through. I just want to see different and good game.

Seems we want 2 different things. I simply don't want the big 3 to win the CL.

But I also think that each of my proposed fixtures (barca-bayern, atm-Rm, porto-monaco, juve-psg), is a very well balanced 50-50 ties. On the other hand watching barca/bayern play juve/psg takes the fun out of it cos I am 90% sure who goes thru that tie.
