This is beyond stupid. He's at the very least at the same level as our other CBs, only considerably younger. Pay the penalty in the loan contract, bring him back, put him straight in the team.

This is like when we refused to give Bertrand a chance when we had no one else at LB and and have been stuck since then with Azpi on the left and Iva on the right while Bertrand makes it into the EPL team of the year. Except this time Christensen has A LOT more potential and we'll probably end up with Mikel being moved permanently to CB!

Breaking contracts is harmful to the integrity of the club. It sets a precedent to other clubs that accepting loanees from Chelsea is futile. I don't the specifics of the contact but when you phrase it as 'penalty' it doesn't sound positive!

Andreas Christensen defends controversial Chelsea loan system: 'They don't just abandon you... I'm a better and tougher player now' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4731906/And

Any argument about Azpi in the bench should stop immediately. He's one of the first names on the team sheet.

If we fuck up this amazing opportunity to integrate one of the biggest CB talents around there is no hope for us, really.

Its not like clubs haven't upheld their sides of contracts before and we have had to bring them home early.

Its a time to look after number 1 and pay the penalty.

The lads going to end up thinking we just dont give a toss about him and wont want to come back.

Ive no idea IF Conte even saw him preseason at all did he?

Why? There is nothing illegal about it. That's why it is usually stated in the contract.

I don't think clubs 'accept' loanees from us, certainly not talents like Christensen. They ask to take them on loan and we pick the club we feel most suites them.

You can say that it would make them less likely to want to sell us one of their own players in the future if we want them, which would be a fair point.

Better than Terry and Cahill and we are probably going to sell him lol, even with buy-back clause that move is a fuckin joke. Zouma and Christensen would be answer for our defense in next 10 years. I hope that Conte is not going to be like Mourinho or stupid as our board to allow this type of transfers.

I just think it breaks a degree of trust between Chelsea and other clubs. Why would they bother loaning in a talented player if the potential is their for Chelsea to break the contract half way through? It sours relationships between clubs and that isn't something wise to do.

In my opinion, the only consequence out of this would be slightly higher penalty fees.

Bring the kid home! This is getting silly.

Terry will still be playing for Chelsea in 3 years time when Christensen is one the best defenders in the world at a big European club.

Pff, you are a bitter hater. Don't you know that Terry can "do a Giggs" ?

Watched him last night. Never fails to surprise how good and comfortable he is on the ball.

I really hope we are not selling him for fucking 20 million. That would be an absolutely stupid move. He is so confident and elegant, him and the Muscle Guy(Zouma) would be a perfect CB-pair.

I would not bet against us selling him at the end of this season. We should have brought him back this season.

Hopefully we didn't bring him back for two reasons:

- playing in the Bundesliga and CL is a very good experience as he is still very young.

- we didn't want to break the gentlemen's agreement, we seem to have a good relationship with Borussia.

Just let him finish his loan spell then bring back, we really need a good CB as Terry, Cahill and Ivan are over 30.

He wanted to stay, and we had an agreement with BMG. He'll come back next year for sure.

Do we know IF Conte even saw him pre season?

He needs to be told for sure that he is a future part of the club and get him on some golden handcuffs.

He wouldn't have come back for pre season. He'd have his pre season with BMG I'd imagine.

Thats what I was thinking. So its doubtful that Conte is even aware of him to want to bring him home.

C'mon, you can't seriously believe that. Do you not think Conte was briefed about the most promising youth players the club have under contract? We're talking about a guy playing CL football as a starter at a club competing in one of the best leagues in the world at the age of 20, I'm pretty sure even most rival managers know about Christensen and how good he is let alone our own manager.

I personally do doubt it. Which board member above Conte do you have faith in & trust to do their job to the best of their abilities?

Idk, Marina doesn't seem that bad really. She's not really in charge of youth and rather negotiations but still.

I take your post was more a dig at Emenalo. Even he has his moments and apart from a few fuck ups in the last year or so I don't really see what he's done wrong to deserve all the abuse. Getting in the likes of Courtois, Lukaku, KdB alone is a masterstroke by him, can't blame him for a few misses in the transfer market. Emenalo knows every player the club have on loan, is an influential member of the board and probably deals with Conte a lot so I have a really hard time believing the case of Christensen hasn't come up.

Anyway even if we assumed the board were all retards Conte, if he's up to the job like I believe he is, should still know Christensen as a player because common sense. He's one of the best 18-23 defenders in the world and now that he is our player already Conte should be making plans for him with next season in mind, which I sincerely hope he is.
