It is annoying to see them spend so much, but the question is which attacking player WE should've/should invest in. Because you dont spend money just because others do. I think the club didnt find a player who'll improve us+worth the money.

About KDB, never understood whats so great in his game, he'll flop big time IMO.

Don't see any way Kev flops when he'll be playing with MUCH better players around him if he joins City.

Mata IS a good player and so is KDB ,,,you are falling into the Tomo trap ... that is WE never make a mistake in selling a player ,,,

Weren't you always telling the Skipper amoungst others to get over it and even resorted to calling him a Sturridge fanboy for making similar posts in Danny's thread to what you do in this one?

Good to see you haven't dropped your sheer hypocrisy :)

Thats it, i think he's a player who needs to be THE player to really look good. Like Mata.

Well, KDB playes pretty well for both club and nation, but he is also the main focus on both teams....

However, we never really seen KDB play in a big team or as the second/third/etc option.

Mata played for United, but never really came close to the 2012 season he had here in terms of production, etc.

I think Hazard probably didn't want to fight for his place as well, but, he eventually turned the other cheek.

"He [Mourinho, added] continued: "I told him, 'This is Chelsea. You are very young, you have Eden Hazard, you have Mata, you have Willian, you have Schurrle, and I cannot promise you that.'"

Lol, seems like Mou saw Oscar as a nailed on starter from the beginning of that season. How depressing is that ffs

Well I dont believe him. First of all Schurrle and Willain are ok players and are far below de bruyne.

U can look at schurle hes is playing now in Germany and he is benched in the same Team. As for Willain he is hard worker but hes no big talent.

De bruynes talent cant be overseen.

If Jose says it .. then it MUST be true .. He is the George Washington of football

A lot of people - me included - have been saying that the reason he asked to leave is because he needs to be THE guy in a team. He needs to have free reign, be assured of his importance. I'd love to see him in a team filled with stars. His problem isn't even about only being a titular in the starting XI, it's entirely about having a team around him. As Mourinho said, it doesn't make him a bad guy or player, it's the way he is, but don't try to pretend many people weren't saying that was what was going on mostly based on what Kevin had said himself (as Mourinho hasn't said much about it). He had made it crystal clear he needs to be star #1 in a team, or at most #2, otherwise, he gets frustrated and it affects his play, simple as that.

It doesn't mean though Mourinho shouldn't have given him what he wanted, maybe he was worth the exception, but when I look to Belgium NT where he is the star and not Hazard and when I look to Chelsea where Mourinho chose to make Hazard the team's star, I don't have many doubts about what the right decision in this situation was given the scenario Kevin needs to perform his best.

Yep.

Be careful Zolayes doesn't take kindly to people trying to create decent debate, expect an insult incoming.

But on a more relevant note, I think some players are as you said suited to a role of certain importance in a team, take Sterling and Malouda for example, both are/were brilliant as 3rd player's, Sterling thrived playing 3rd fiddle to Sturridge and Suarez likewise Flo with Drogba and Lamps, but when the team wasn't/isn't on song you won't ever see Malouda or Sterling taking charge or responsibility like say we saw with Hazard vs Swansea at home last season when we started sloppy and all off a sudden Hazard started upping the anti for his display and the team followed shortly after.

I guess some players are suited to certain roles in a team.

This is as true as it can get. After KDB's transfer to Wolfsburg, a lot of "inside sources from Cobham" were quoted saying that indeed Jose wanted to keep him and was impressed by his ability, but he's had no other choice than to sell him because KDB became uninterested and lazy in training and was constantly moaning about his place in the team and asked for a transfer.

Now it seems that those insiders were spot on and Jose confirmed it in that interview. Jose might be a lot of things, but definitely he is not a liar when it comes to his players, especially those he's managed.

KEVIN DE BRUYNE | Goals, Skills, Assists | Chelsea | 2013/2014 Preseason (HD)

Kevin De Bruyne vs Hull City (Home) 13-14

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These videos are from when KDB was our player.

Honestly, I do not understand all the rancor that he has against Jose. It is true that Jose did not bet strongly for him, but that's what Jose does all the young players, is not something special against KDB. For example, Kurt Zouma last season had the humility to hold his chance from the bench, and now is a player who will be important for us in the next decade (I loved to see him playing 90 minutes yesterday). Obviously any young player wants to play every minute, but they must wait their opportunity without so much anxiety, because anxiety has killed the career of many young kids.

I can understand that he is angry, but maybe he should understand that in the event that Jose has made a mistake (I'm not sure), I think there is no error which is irremediable or unforgivable in life. KDB acts as if Jose would tried to kill him.

To me KDB has quite infantile attitude, because what happened is that Jose has a dynamics of work and KDB does not accept these dynamics, and Jose decided to sell because there was a good deal and he did not want to staying with us if he was not indisputable. End of the story.

Now KDB, in a very small club, has had a great performance and he could return to us and have a place in our starting eleven. But KDB not want to return while Jose is our manager ... OK, perfect, because I'd rather have Jose with us than KDB. But his actittud is very childish. He will surely have an environment of people who every day say that he is the best player in the world and Jose Mourinho is crap, but for me it is wrong. But if I were in his place, I prefer to return to Chelsea than join Manchester City in a project with many doubts.

But if it's his choice ... perfect, good luck and I do not think he's worth that amount of money .... I love watching Manchester City squandering money each year.

KDB is a great player, undoubtedly, and it is sad that he did not want to come back with us, but nobody is indispensable and Jose is our leader.

Regards.

I think there is an important fallacy here. He is not the main focus in the NT. No way, nor Eden. I also think that is why Wilmots is such an inept trainer. He is making fucking Fellaini the focus of the team (see WC, see Wales, etc in contrast to France where he wasn't on the pitch).

Think about that before we all go on the bandwagon. Also KDB played into the entire NT youth league with Eden and other little starlets. No problem here.

The only issue imo was that he wanted to play a WC really bad and did NOT get any playing time. The NT coach added pressure in the belgian media saying that if yoy did not play in your team = no WC.

People are quick to judge but on the other hand forget Oscars way of dealing with the WC for example. We may not value those national competitions as fans, but the players do.

Pretty obvious that Jose listed only wingers. And he didn't consider Oscar as a winger, but as a "number 10".
