Did somebody seriously suggest we should get one dimensional pass side to side Waynama over Mikel?

In old days we had Makelele and Essien and later Essien/Mikel. As I know our midfield is problematical and will remain so with current style of play. Even with Mikel and Rambo in midfield we get overrun and have no creativity...We tend to play fancy but with both Rambo and Mikel, we just wont be able to control midfield. Even if we switch to 4:3:3.

Wanyama is 21 yrs old, cm/dm gets at their peak at later ages. He will be great player, no doubt.

But as far we dont get a proper manager, who knows what formation and style will we play. With some luck, we can get world class team with no new signings, but I fear there must come a reinforcement in midfield. And Wanyama is much more allround than Mikel, his long shot, tackles, pace and eventualy passing will come better. I trust Mikel, but his positioning and work attitude is sometimes weird. Same goes for Luiz.

However speaking of transfers makes basicaly no sense, first the board picks players and secondly manager. Whatever we talk is meaningless.
