He gave us the respect we deserve and we gave it back.

Top pro, top player and he just did what Frank Lampard does best.......scores goals.

I mentioned this in the post match thread and I am going to put it here as well now since this was locked at the time.

I have changed my opinion on the Lamps situation. When it all happened I was upset and angry.

Watching him after his goal, he just got up and walked away. He looked gutted. After the game he barely acknowledged the City fans and went straight to the Chelsea fans. It looked as if he was going to burst into tears. In 3 post match interviews of his I have seen of his, he always referred to City as 'City' or 'this club', he never used the words 'us' or 'we'. I don't think he feels any affiliation with them at all. He is a Chelsea boy at heart and always will be.

And as for people who say he shouldn't have scored? He is a professional footballer! His job is to do the best for Manchester City. That's why they pay his wages! He is not going to gather the ball, turn around and hoof it clear is he!

He may have taken two points off us yesterday but after all the points he won for us over the years, all the championships, cups and memories. I'll forgive him for it

for me his "legend status" is in limbo. and dependent on us winning the league. scoring an equaliser for a rival , is not something i will forgive easily (especially as he said he wouldn't play for another prem club)

You can't blame him for scoring the goal. He's a top professional and I'd be disappointed in him if he did not give his best.

But you can blame him for choosing to go to a direct rival and putting himself in a position where he needs to play against us and try to take points off us.

It's funny how people are portraying him as the victim here. He chose to go there, he takes full responsibility for that decision.

i would not have been dissapointed as I have said many times, he didnt owe them anything. If he misses kicks noone on either side would have been bothered.

There is absolutely no need to lock this if people can be civil and debate things properly without insulting or just being immature.

It's has nothing to do with being safe, the forum should be free flowing and locking a thread is the last resort for staff members because the site is foremost the important thing. We will decide if it needs locking so in the mean time you feel so strongly then don't post in here.

over the years I have seen many players leave the Club for a variety of reasons ,,

In the past there was NEVER the extreme emotions ..

Wilkins left for Manure .. Greaves went to Spurs . Some players were sold by the club others

wanted to move , The only transfer I found really distasteful was Joe Cole going

to Liverpool ,, The club had treat him well but he got greedy ,, went to Scum then bigged them up .

Lampard hasnt done that , THE travelling fans showed they still respect him .

My position hasn't changed, I'm still very disappointed in Frank's decision to join City. To be totally honest, if we meat that much to him he wouldn't have gone to another PL team, nevermind to our only title rivals. What else is he supposed to do? Literally anything else. I'm sure he wasn't short of options.

He looked emotional yesterday alright. However, imagine the millions of Chelsea fans who felt like they got punched right in the gut while those knobheads were jumping around celebrating as if they won the league in their half empty stadium.

I've also noticed that the initial main reasons backing Lampard's decision have dwindled in recent weeks...

1. He's done it to prolong his England career.
2. He won't even play against Chelsea.
3. He won't affect the title race.

Can't forget everything he's done for us.can't blame him for doing his job either.we lost the 2 points due to our performance can't be blamed for that.shame but it happened and move on.
