MATA'S letter on his website "I never forget: thanks, Chelsea!" Juan Mata Chelsea goodbye with an emotional letter Hi everyone, As you can imagine this is a very important day in my life, and with the

Exactly.. People are so quick to forget. Oscar is playing full confidence at the minute, don't be surprised if people change their thoughts as soon as he loses form.

The fact that some are seeing Torres as our new savior now that he's played a few decent games or Hazard being labeled a flop shows how fickle football fans are.

It's as if they completely forgot our previous season, it's ridiculous.

In modern football, you're only as good as your previous game. The sad truth.

Mata PFA team of the year, led the premier League in assists last season along with 12 goals. #4 in key passes per game.He was our best player for 2 years but Oscar, after a poor Premier League season and an excellent CL last year, is now better because of three good home games against Hull, Basel, and Fulham? Mourinho likes him better because he fits his system, but it's going to take a lot more than a few good games to say "he's better".

Not really. Anyone that watch Oscar played prior to his time at Chelsea knew he was going to be a good player..... Their a reason why both Barca and United were interested in Oscar long before Chelsea and Tottenham were fighting for his signature.

People overreact massively to form. It's so bad, that even one great or awful game will change peoples' opinions about a players' overall quality. Look at Schurrle after the Bayern game and then after his next start.Of course, this is a massive problem when you start out with unrealistic expectations anyway. If you think Kevin Deb Bruyne is one of the best players in the world, that Van Ginkel is an elite player, or that Chalobah or any of our youth players are good enough to start for Chelsea, you're going to be disappointed and forced to re-adjust your evaluation very quickly which leads to overadjustment. De Bruyne is not one of the best players in the world, but having a bad run of games doesn't make him useless either.

I think Oscar will do well in the #10 spot overall if he stays there all year, he's a very good player, he just lacks the offensive genius that Mata has. (There's a term we use in hockey, "playing with your head down/up" and it's something you notice. Mata, even before he receives the ball, knows sees the play developing and has his head up, looking for teammates. That's something that is a rare skill in football.)

So wait, "knowing he was going to be a good player (no such thing in reality, plenty of players look good before going to a top league and fail)"=better than Mata? Barca and Spurs and top teams are interested=better than a PFA team of the year/our best player for 2 years? That's absolute nonsense. You're bringing in two things which have nothing to do with what I'm talking about. Oscar is a good player, nobody is disputing that (I hope) but he's going to need to be a lot better to reach the level of Mata. The fact that he was a good player in Brazil or that other teams were interested in him has no bearing on anything.

I agree, and bought him under the radar too. As good as mata is, oscar for me is clearly the better footballer in what is a team sport. Mata can never match the kind of performance oscar gave against juventus even if he score a double hatrick in one game. Hazard who i also rate more than mata will only be at that level if he performs at this level as he did at lille(already did vs bayern). Oscar is putting more consistent high level performance this season. He is really competitive. So you see oscar's performance vs Juve and hazard's vs bayern were incredible we've seen nothing of such from mata at the highest level. All oscar and hazard need to be better than mata is mere consistency, oscar seems to have found that so far and hazard will surely find he's under Mou and mata might still be excellent but not up to their level.

Mata excelled under Rafa cause all the tactics were build for Mata to succeed, except our shit cms don't provide well for our attacking players...

PFA means nothing to me when Bale wins player of the year and they voted hazard top 5 last season...

Since your canadian, I'll give you an example...

Steve Nash is viewed as an uber pg, but when he was on the lakers or mavericks, he was average/good, you know why?????

Cause the offense in phoenix was built so he could put up amazing stats... Same situation with Mata, (even though I don't think mata is anywhere near as good as nash is in each respective sport)..

I remember reading how in Brazil people thought Ganso was going to be their CAM for the next +10 years and than Oscar took his place as well....

Maybe the brazilians would know better, but from what I remembered, they also reacted the same when Oscar took Ganso' place, saying he wasn't as creative as Ganso, etc...

So much bs here, did AVB and Di Matteo also build the team around Mata? because he didn't just excel under Rafa.

Like i said already you cant even Oscar and Mata, attacking wise. The latter is more experienced and light years ahead.

Immediately he gets the ball he only needs 2 seconds to know where he is going with it. There is a reason he creates so many chances. Only a matter of time before he gets back to his best and starts shutting bitches up - if not at Chelsea, then any club willing to pay 35m for him.

RDM prefer Oscar in the middle and AVB scouted him to play cam for Tottenham.

Also, I guarantee Mata will never replicate the stats he produce last season on any other big team....

Regarding chances created, did it occur to you that Hazard has been out of form this season and we swapped Mata for schurrle... You guys are making it a direct correlation that Mata out, Oscar in is only between those 2 players..

I also remembered people complaining but later oscar's presence brought the best out of neymar. But make no mistake mata >>>>>>>> Ganso so its a completely different ball game now

rdm preferref oscar in the middle because he sucks on the wings... no other reason. this was proven when rafa played him the 2nd half of the season on the wings, people started calling him "over-rated"... that is the extent of how bad oscar was on the wings.

u can guarantee??? put a straight swap for mata-rooney and let him play behind rvp and see the magic of football happen right in front of your eyes.

are u actually saying that oscar is comparative to mata in terms of creativeness???

I don't think Mata is ever gonna walk.

His Oscar-esque performance at Swindon is ample proof in that matter. He just have to work on his work rate and this whole Mata v. Oscar situation could be good for both players.

If it was any other year maybe but with the WC coming up and playing time hard enough to find with the Spanish squad..... Mata needs to be playing or he won't get called up by VDB. Another team will gladly find a place for him on the pitch on a regular basis.

LOl. This is coming from the kid that said Oscar played with no heart a good chunk of last season... (It was you that criticized Oscar like no other, so don't say "people")

Also, I dont think you know United has someone called Kagawa who played for BVB and is a better goalscorer than Mata and yet he barely gets runs.... United would make him play in the wings.

Oscar is creative, however, when you focus a lot of your energy on both sides of the ball, it's hard to be sharp and creative (go ask hazard)..

and i still stand by it. look at his performances now and then and u can see a difference as clear as day and night. or do u want to tell me that within 2 months oscar has gone from "what the hell is he doing" to "should be played ahead of mata".

HAHAHAHAHAHA... now kagawa is a better goalscorer than mata??? holy-shit... u should probably get off pes now... time to join the real world for once...

oh...is it the same hazard that game bayern a run for their money despite being awesome both sides of the ball? right now, hazard is off form nothing more/nothing less. also i dont see people like muller, ribery having so much problem being creative despite working their asses off defensively. if u have the class, it will shine thru. right now oscar's creativity is notches below mata's. to even compare their creativity tells me exactly how much u know of football.

Definitely agree, but if this is the kind of chances Mourinho is going to give Mata (as he did with Kaka), I have a problem...

I have been on the record Oscar is my preferred #10 (and no, it is not because he is Brazilian), but Mata sure can play and he deserves better than games against Swindon.

So, for me, Jose must find a balance in keeping Oscar as our primary CAM and giving Mata enough opportunities to prove himself!

Who would have thought we'd be saying this 4-5 months ago ?

Honestly, Mourinho pisses me off sometimes !! I feel like the reason Juan played so poorly is because Jose deprived him of the freedom he had under RDM and Rafa. He had the freedom of the pitch under these managers... and we saw the results ! 19 goals and 35 assists... THATS WHAT HE BRINGS TO THE TABLE !!

He looked out of sorts at Swindon. He did play one delicious pass in the first half but he just looked like he didnt really belong ! Whenever he tracked back in order to ''impress Mourinho'' it broke my heart ! He made quite a few niggly tackles and its all because that isnt his thing! Do you see Messi/Ozil/Iniesta tracking back all the time ? And are they made second choice to a player inferior to them even tho they can play together in the same team ??

Mou, FIX THIS !!
