Things i like about him is that he will always prefer to have an assist then score a goal himself.That shows he isn't thinking about himself only rather than the better for the team.His goal against Arsenal was a class act and it is a shame it didn't end up as being the turning point for our win.

Agreed. Sometimes I'm yelling at him to shoot when he gets into a good position but he keeps the ball and makes a pass and it's always the right decision. His footballing brain is unbelievable.

Real Madrid, PSG, Malaga.. who knows.

He left Valencia to lift silverware and be successful. If he wants a bigger paycheck one of the above clubs will certainly offer more than he would receive here. Roman better dig deep in January/summer, or Mata’s tenure will replicate that of Robben.

You saying PSG and Malaga have better chance of silverware? PSG have only the chance to win domestic titles, Malaga will never overtake Barca and Real. Those 2 teams aren't even close to being CL contenders either, while we are. He seems like an intelligent guy and thus has to know that he was brought in to strengthen the squad, with new players coming along in the future, we will be able compete on every front.

He would be in the same position he is in now at Malaga (if they invest further in the squad), Real & Barca = United & City. Except Malaga/PSG will be able to pay him far more in wages. The current state of affairs must be concerning for him, apart from financial gain, there was no point in leaving Valencia.

Maybe he doesn't relish the prospect of winning the French league? And joining Malaga would be a no hope of winning the Spanish league or CL, he would have been better off staying at Valencia than joining Malaga. Saying barca and real are equal to manu and city is nonsense. We have greater possibility of winning the league (and CL) than Malaga and Valencia ever will. It's undeniable that joining Chelsea was more ambitious than staying at Valencia, joining PSG or Malaga. Barca, Real and City didn't seem to want/need him... only Arsenal (and 'pool?), and he snubbed them.

Sure if we decline to Arsenal level (once a great team with no hope), then big players wouldn't want to join us and would leave us. But we're far from becoming an Arsenal/Liverpool type of no hopers.

In my opinion, Mata would suit more as a COM in a 4-2-3-1 formation than a winger in a 4-3-3 formation. I do think he easier could become an worldstar player in the 4-2-3-1 formation too.
