I think the beauty and importance of players like mata is that when he starts running and creating play it lifts other players and the crowd. I hope it was the reason behind torres improvement and even anelka's enthusiasm when he came on. People/players start believing and confidence can spread just like our negativity spread last season.

I think the fact that he didn't stand out this game (bayer) as much as against Norwich & Sunderland is an indication that our team play is much better than before. Still a very good performance tho.

It's too early to tell but I think I underestimated both his ability and how he could improve the team when we signed him. I'll wait until he has played a respectable amount of games to fully analyze just how much we needed a player like him.
