Listen, what I believe is that this club wanted to compete for the league title and it was almost thing of prestige for them. I believe the board saw Lukaku as solution for our League drought and position. They maybe saw him as the best solution for retaining top four place.

Why they didn't offer Hakimi Lukaku's 325 000 a week? Why they did't get better CM? Or DM? Tuchel wanted CB, midfielder and striker, they got him Lukaku.  NO CB. No midfielder. Is that how Tuchel was respected? I simply can not believe they neglected two Tuchel's requests and only got him third wish.

They didn't feel we needed Kante's replacement. Or proper CM?

Simply put Lukaku was board's 3 in 1 solution, get striker and everything else will sort out. No need for CB, no need for DM, no need for CM just get Lukaku and he will do what he had done in Milan year before.

That's how I see it. Tuchel is, like any manager of this club, duty completer. I really don't believe they have major role in our signings, especially record ones. Maybe just Frank had. For obvious reasons.

Maybe Tuchel was pressured to get League title and felt he would be hold responsible for failure if we failed and he had refused this God given solution. I don't know but he is here for 18 months and Lukaku is for 60 months.

I have given you examples of how signing Lukaku is not consistent with Chelsea board past dealing, and there is also Lukaku and Tuchel own words that strengthens my argument. Btw Chalobah stepped up, and he has done the job that Kounde would have. You are forgetting that we signed Saul Niguez, yes he has been terrible in hindsight. But forgetting that he was seen a competent signing when you consider Jorginho, Kovacic, and Kante on the squad.

There is nothing logical about your argument, you have fully positioned that Tuchel is not at fault and he can’t have bad judgment but only could be the board fault.

Yep and I always will when there's attempts to glorify that clown in any context.

Lukaku is a worse signing than Torres, in hindsight Torres was an epic failure but given the circumstances you could understand at the time. I don’t think anyone could have predicted how bad signing Torres turned out to be. But with Lukaku it was quite clear, in fact Man United already proved that, they made that mistake just a couple years ago. Which is why this is so comical that we didn’t learn that mistake given the evidence.

Covid market no one will pay that. We was fool for doing that. I think not even people can pay 60k. We are stuck with him and will go the way of torres. Leave for free and what not.

A swap deal + cash would be our best bet.

@OhForAGreavsiedid.

He was already turning to shit at Liverpool, most of us just assumed he was sulking because he wanted out and/or was being mismanaged by Roy.

It's was one thing us fans getting giddy but the club should have done their due diligence. Theres rumours he actually failed the medical which if true then no words.

What's peoples thoughts on whether Lukaku will start Sunday?

Havertz was on the bench against Brighton so I assume he's now been back in training for around a week. With that in mind there's every possibility Tuchel goes with him up front instead of Lukaku.

I highly doubt it.

Look I remember not being a fan of the Torres signing; I recall my thinking was he was injury prone and that there was a better st in Kun Auguro. But Torres career at Chelsea was worst case scenario.

Having some time to process those ridiculous comments from Lukaku, and also ranting about him having to get the fuck out of here., I will say this.

He hasn't really said anything negative about Chelsea. At least not directly.

What he has said about the managers tactics, the fact that he loves playing with teammates from other clubs, his favorite fans, etc. are the same things that are on the minds of probably more than 50% of our squad. You only need to look at the Azpi, Rudiger, Christensen contract situations to see why.

What he had done is act like a dumbass and say all this stuff publicly. And that's going to raise questions in the dressing room.

I want to see what kind of reaction we will get from this. From both Tuchel and/or Lukaku., if he starts on Sunday.
