Thibaut Courtois

I have a strong temptation to bench him. We have no time to sign a proper back up and his arrogant claim 'They won't bench me.' drove me nuts. Just a shame our back up options are what they are.

There's always the chance that Courtois does a WWF-style move in the 90th minute of the second leg. Score is 0-0, extra time is looming, Torres takes a shot from 12 yards which eventually reaches Cour

He nailed that penalty like it was De Bruyne's bird.

When I rewatched the save of the 1v1 I noticed he seems to get low to the ground so quickly, and I mean this in a good way Just watch Scznenzyzne-thingy against Naismith yesterday When he gets in t

Fine you want to play for Real Madrid, ok.  Be closer to your family, totally understandable.

But I think Chelsea has been more than fair to him.  Displaced a club legend to make him the #1.  Two league titles plus an FA Cup in three years.  If these reports are true he should've handled this much differently IMO.

Keep him on the bench this season.

He has wanted to leave for a while, he has one year left on his contract. This is a fact everyone at Chelsea knows. The fact we are holding a conversation with him 3 days before transfer deadline and have not lined up a replacement is Chelsea fault. This should have been taken care of a while ago.

I find Chelsea completely at fault.

I fear we are heading for the same direction with Eden Hazard next summer. Eden being much more valuable.

If he wanted to leave he is the first one to act by submitting a transfer request, he hasn’t done this in all these “years” he wanted to leave. Has he ever told the club he wanted to leave officially? Doubtful or we wouldn’t have Sarri saying he wants to talk to him face to face.

He tried to be clever and play games, making stupid sly digs in the media etc. While he has a year left and there is no transfer request, we call the shots.

If we made him the apparent £250k a week offer back in December he probably would of resigned. But we didn’t. As long as we get a decent fee and don’t sign a shite replacement it will be fine.

Exclusive: Courtois goes AWOL to try to force Chelsea exit. More on @TeleFootball #cfc

Just get rid of this wanker. I cannot stand him. Let him go to Madrid and get booed for getting beaten at his near post. No respect at all.

Man, if I were Roman I'd be super tempted to just sign a replacement and let this cunt rot on the bench for a year.

He doesn't want to through £30m~ down the drain. Just a shame there aren't more suitors, so we could sell him elsewhere instead of him seemingly getting his way

His head is already somewhere else, he no longer cares about this club. Which means he simply cannot be our number one anymore. He will be sold considering the penny pinching board. Can you imagine them facing Courtois leaving for free next summer? Never going to happen. He is leaving and it is down to the board to bring in a proper replacement. Imagine having Caballero on one end of the field and Morata on the other. Depressing.

Not a fan of him. But he made it clear, that he wants to leave long before. Club management is at fault for me.

When has he ever made it clear ? It’s not clear until he submits a transfer request... He’s made hints to the media, how disrespectful is it to post a few days ago that you can’t wait to be back and not show up to training. Proves what kind of person he is.

Agreed but he’s probably going to be doing that anyway with a stop gap panic buy goalkeeper.

I wouldn't see Butland as a stop gap, but rather a stupid risk, after going all out and failing to sign Allison.

You clearly have not being paying attention if you think he has not wanted to leave for Madrid. Barely any player ever hands in a transfer request, a player does not have to hand in a transfer request to know their intention. The fact he has not renewed with one year left on his contract should be a clear que.

Sure he has been playing both sides, maybe a huge raise could convince him to stay. The other thing you have to know in the world of negotiating no side is ever going to lay all their chips on the table. You can't be reactive, you have to be proactive and prepare.

If you believe the reliable Belgium reporter Kristof Terreur he reached an agreement with Real before Liverpool signed Allison. Plenty of time to prepare.
