Chelsea had been regularly linked with a move for Hazard over previous months, along with other major European clubs who had scouted the youngster extensively, but with the Blues' disappointing league form during the 2011-12 season increasing the likelihood that they would miss out on Champions League qualification as the season drew to a close, the media reported that Hazard had narrowed his options down to the two major Manchester clubs, with the opportunity to play in Europe's premier competition seen as a pre-requisite.
However after Chelsea won the 2012 UEFA Champions League they secured entry into the following season's tournament, and reports emerged from France that Hazard was once again considering a move to Stamford Bridge. On 28 May 2012 Hazard announced on Twitter that he would be signing for the "Champions League winner". Joining for a reported fee of £32 million, the signing was confirmed by Chelsea on 4 June after the Belgian completed his medical.
Upon signing Hazard stated "It's a dream come true for me. I can't wait to get started and for the season to start so I can meet my new team-mates, the supporters and all the people who are involved. I want to play as many games as possible, score as many goals as possible and win a place in the hearts of the supporters." He commented that his decision to move to Stamford Bridge was due to a variety of factors, including the opportunity to live in London, to be part of a young, emerging Chelsea side, and to play for a club which continued to win silverware after years of success: "Ultimately, for a player it's all about winning things; I want to win as many trophies as possible, which is another reason why I came here as Chelsea have been winning things for a long time now, and I hope to win many more during my time here." Hazard also revealed that former Chelsea player Joe Cole a team-mate at Lille had recommended a move to Chelsea: "I spoke to Joe Cole and what he said above all was that Chelsea was the right club for me. As somebody who loves the club himself, he said he could really see me in the shirt, so when I see him next I'll tell him he was right."

For those who are not familiar, Tambling is Chelsea's top leading goal scorer with 202 goals in 370 games. A record yet to be beaten, of course. I would write a long tribute, but time is restricting, I'm sure one of our more articulate members will care to later on.

Besides, the whole team is struggling, and naturally, we turn to the more experienced players. And Lukaku has had barely enough time to settle in and figure out what he needs to do to succeed in England.
Anyway, just because we paid 18m pounds doesn't mean he has to immediately make an 18m-pound impact. We paid the money because of his potential, and he may be in the reserves right now, but he certainly has more than enough in him to become better than Drogba.

If he was one of our better players today, then you see how shit we really were.

I dont agree with the view that members here overate our players .In fact I feel many are over critical of our players with the exception of our Enlish players most of our squad come in for a great deal of criticism . We are a dozen games into the season and players who have come in for heavy
stick include Bosingwa ,,Mikel , Malouda, Anelka , Drogba , Kalou and Luiz.

Don't know how anyone can claim Ramires is an average player when he consistently makes an impact at a club like Chelsea. I can sort of understand criticisms against Mikel since I agree that he can be more influential, but Ramires? He leads our counterattack, he connects the gap on the right-hand side between Sturridge and Bosingwa who don't understand each other very well, and he scores some amazing goals and tries so hard to score them, too.
Besides, because he's so nimble and quick he can usually retrieve possession after a poor touch. I don't see how that can be such a big deal.
Also, like Blue Armour's mentioned before, we don't need the type of midfielders Barcelona have as long as the players understand each other well. In fact, I don't really get how people nowadays think the Barcelona way is the way to play, and it's a dangerous thought, too. Once everyone starts copying Barcelona, football gets boring as fuck.
