Tbh, Arsenal's attacks were more dangerous than City's so far.

This game reminded me of our 5-0 win against Schalke for that reason. When he plays so fantastic, we look unstoppable as a team.

No words describe how good this guy is for us in these types of games, another assist today too.

53% dribble success, 67 completed dribbles in total.

I have to agree. There's no question about JT's leadership and organization skills, but we're badly exposed on every counterattack. Because of our slow CBs, we can't play high line effectively and keep the initiative without risking to concede every time we lose the ball.

Wow, the refereeing had been terrible in the match today. Phill Dowd really is unfit to lead an EPL match.

He's been very poor for a while. Honestly, sometimes his decision-making makes Willian look like a genius.

Yeah, that's kind of what I meant. Maybe he was asked to save his energy and work a bit less in games because he kept re-injuring his hamstring. I think what Jose meant back then was that he was no longer feeling pain. Doesn't mean the muscle itself is back to 100% fitness.
At least I hope that is the case, because otherwise that was just lazy work from Diego in the opening 20 minutes yesterday.

First of all, that's just wrong. Eden had most touches of the ball than anyone on the pitch except our CMs. I love Eden, he's my favourite player, but he can't be the only one who gets excused for being invisible for the large part of the game. If Willian had the sort of game Eden had, he'd be crucified for his lack of contribution in the final third. Eden made mistakes too. He lost the ball too. He made bad passes too. He had bad touches too. He wasn't more isolated in the first half than Cesc was --actually, considering he's a CM, Cesc might have been more isolated than him, since our defenders kept playing through Matic in the first half. And unlike Oscar and Cesc, Eden didn't have the burden of defending, so it's pretty unfair, since both of them(especially Cesc) put on a defensive shift that almost matched Matic's.
Yes, Oscar and Cesc are supposed to be the main link up men, but Cesc couldn't help Oscar link up attack because in the first half our defence looked shaky, Matic looked shaky, and Cesc had to spend most of the time in our own half, defending. That's why I'm against playing the playmaker of the team in the pivot - he can't do much of creating if he has to spend most of the time worrying about defending.
Cesc was ineffective in the first half and improved in the second half. As did Oscar. As did Eden. No more, no less. Eden makes the impression of being more dangerous because he's a flair player. But to be honest, he was pretty ineffective in attack today bar a few good moments. But even Willian had a few good moments in attack. As did Cesc. As did Oscar.

I don't remember the exact stats after the first half. I remember Matic having 56 or 57 touches and everyone else having much less. My point is, even Cesc, as a CM, didn't see as much of the ball as he normally does in the first half, so that shouldn't be the reason to excuse only Eden.
I'm not saying he was good defensively(though he was more than decent). I'm saying that because we were getting mauled there, he had to do a lot of defensive work that a playmaker normally isn't supposed to do and couldn't contribute much in attack and help Oscar.
Just compare Matic, Cesc, Oscar and Eden's defensive stats:
Matic: 4 tackles, 3 interceptions, 4 clearances, 0 blocked shots.
Cesc: 4 tackles, 3 interceptions, 2 clearances, 1 blocked shot.
Oscar: 3 tackles, 1 interception, 4 clearances, 0 blocked shots.
Eden: 1 tackles, 0 interceptions, 0 clearances, 0 blocked shots.
Eden certainly had it easier and had more freedom to create than Cesc and Oscar, so it's pretty unfair not to take it into consideration. Not saying they had a very good game--they didn't, especially Oscar--but Eden was far from good either, considering he was our only attacking midfielder who doesn't have to do much of a defensive work.

This. He's a City player. We should cheer our own players. If was fucking embarrassing enough how instead of cheering our own players, our away fans cheered Frank. IMO, it threw our players off and they seemed to lose their concentration when Frank came out.

Pellegrini en december: "It's not so easy because Frank is a New York City player. He is only on loan until December 31, so we must respect the other people."
Now: Manchester City have admitted making mistakes regarding Frank Lampard’s status, with the club moving to clarify he never signed a two-year deal with New York City FC and so the midfielder was never on loan from the MLS franchise. A clarification issued on Friday by the club said: “The statement on the NYCFC website in July saying Lampard’s two-year contract took effect from Aug 1, 2014 was a mistake. [The] initial statement on City’s website that it was a loan was also an error.”
This is evidence that inicially they lied for some unknown reason.

Polite applause if he comes on or is subbed off, but I certainly would NOT be cheering and signing the name of a City player playing against our boys.
Our away fans at the Ettihad actually played a role in my opinion in taking some of the momentum out of the team that was on the front foot before Frank came out and the cheering his name begun and gave him the confidence and motivation to score.

Plenty of loopholes in that:
1. If he was not scheming, he would have actually signed for NYFC and then when the opportunity came up went on loan to Man City (or god forbid to some other club outside of England if all he wanted was to stay fit).
2. If he wasn't intentionally misleading and conning NewYorkers, he and Man City would not have explicitly said on several occasions that he was on loan at City and instead would have told the truth that he had a season long contract and that he might sign a contract with NYFC once he was done playing at City.
3. He held a hugely publicized press conference to say that he not only has become a NYFC player and signed a 2 year contract, but that he was there to lead the team by example and help the entire league grow when in fact he knew that he:
a. Was aiming at not being there for half of the first season.
b. He could and still can join any other team he wants including other MLS teams or teams outside the country or even retire if he wishes because he has nothing legally biding him to NYFC.
