I think it was a very smart choice to loan him out to Betis in La Liga for his development. Although Real Betis is a pretty poor team, the exposure he's getting there is already invaluable. Nobody would be talking about him if he had the same debut in Ligue1, The Championship, or The Eredivisie. They are already raving about him in various Spain media after 1 game, and if he continues to play like this, he will surely land a better loan destination within La Liga in the near future.
When you look at players like Mata, Silva, Isco,... They all started their careers at second tier La Liga teams before becoming key players at Valencia, Malaga,... and eventually taking the big leap in joining Chelsea, City, Real,... La Liga to me is the ideal learning ground for young playmakers, even though it's dominated by Barca and Real.
The most important thing now is that he plays alot. If i compare him with Boga: Boga is already 6 months at Rennes, and still doesn't manage to grab a consistent starting spot (in an equally bad team). Or they start him horribly out of position (lone striker). Betis already gave Musonda squad nr. 8 and a full 90 min debut game, after 1 training week. That alone shows us that they are putting alot of faith in him, and aren't afraid to field him.

I watched the entire match because football just isn't Mikel/Matic in the middle he was unreal which is staggering considering this was his professional debut. He started out at the right wing and although he drifted infield several occasions, pretty much played primarily there.
His dribbling ability is almost close to Hazard's level he even stole Eden's shield the ball with your arse and win a FK move. He ran them ragged for 90 minutes and got a ton of their players booked. He was so good that Gaya (one of the most promising LB's in the world) got sent off because he couldn't handle him. He's a dynamic player like Hazard, plays on the move and is a born entertainer. He even got his name chanted by the home fans towards the end which shows you I'm not exaggerating. Clear MoTM today, clever flick set up the cross which led to the winner.

Wish he was on a better team though. Betis play Championship football. They've even got the generic black DM and everything. Ball barely touched the ground in the opening half hour.

Already have a positive impact for Betis.
I look at Charly and I think he may overtake Boga in my ranking. They're clearly in league of their own in terms of ability and talent. But Charly has top mentality. He is so consistent, he doesn't have a game when he is invisible or nothing comes for him, no, he always gives at least correct impact. Which is unusual even for wonderkids that consistency. Plus work rate, wow, he has amazing work rate for offensive player and for his age.
He is complete package in terms of talent and maturity.

Musonda didn't really get bullied. He's just playing on a poor team that couldn't string passes together hence why I compared them to a Championship team. They only had 1 win at home all season before yesterday. He didn't get a chance to showcase his ability because he simply couldn't get the ball.
Anyone downplaying his dribbling ability and being dismissive of that performance isn't being very smart. First thing you look at for players like Charly making the leap is if their technical ability can translate at the senior level especially for someone of his build. Any average young player can score a goal or make an assist. The key is seeing just how good his first touch, flair, intelligence, close control, dribbling and ball retention skills can be against first team opposition, & if he has the fearlessness to attempt them. The likes of Messi, Neymar, Hazard (not comparing him to them yet obviously) all had that early on, it's the mark of a special player. That's what I'm looking forward to seeing the most over these next couple of months.
All in all it was a very good professional debut especially considering he was playing out a position

    Because of Mourinho.
Being saying it for a while, even when Mourinho was first appointed. I want a coach that takes more gamble on youth. Instead we went for Mourinho.
Now we got Hiddink.....if we do the same shenanigans this summer we will never have a coach that gambles on youth. The two coaches I know that definitely takes chances are Bielsa and Pochetino.

His language skills are pretty impressive, and his willingness to do so even more. He also fluently speaks dutch, english, and french. If you look at our squad, players like Costa, Willian, Oscar, and even Hazard are still struggling hard with english. It's no surprise to me though, Charly always had a very good work ethic and drive, something that Hazard is missing tbh.
Back in Anderlecht, Charly would prepare powerpoint presentations and show them before training to his fellow players. His youth team coach at Anderlecht (Yannick Ferrera), who is the coach of Standard now, said that his maturity towards playing the game is what he would expect from a 30 year old.
Anyway, i hope he can cement a starting spot towards the end of his 6 month loan spell. That should be his goal now!

I'm very happy with his move. This boy since a while should be playing on first division.
And I Am very surprised with his good spanish. And all the Betis fans too. Even, Real Betis talked on his official twitter about it. But it is not the most surprising thing, because his good spanish, according to what Betis said, is because he learns it by himself in home, is autodidactic!.
This thing could seems insignificantly, and that has nothing to do with football, but seeing how are the football players today, specially the young, with his star life, where seems that nothing matter to them outside of his football bubble, is interesting to see this things in a kid, is rare, at least to me, shows a man with good head, not an airhead more, and a good head, is equal to important than the talent.
We will start to hear a lot of good things of Charly, sure.

It seems that Musonda is going to stay with us. Although he is going to go on loan to another team in January, Which it is better for his future and for us.

This is what Adi Viveash (coach of our U21's, and the guy who won us the Uefa youth League) said about Musonda at the end of last season:
The youth coach rated him higher than Jeremie Boga/RLC/Colkett..., but in the end the decision is with Mourinho, in who he promotes to play for the first team.
Im mostly curious though if they would allow him to join Arsenal. Can they really reject a 15 million bid for a player who never played 1st team football?

I agree, but if we sell him. he'll end up at PSG, Arsenal or any other team in a couple of years. AS Monaco are pretty notorious at the moment in developing youngsters and selling them for big bucks.
On the other hand, it doesn't look like Mourinho is interested in the small/technical players from our academy (Colkett, Boga, Musonda). He prefers physical beasts like Ola Aina and Loftus-Cheek (although they barely get any chances). So i can see Mourinho not too bothered to sell him instead of loaning him out.

re-building with a manager who never shows evolution and stinks it up so bad that one of the world's best wingers wants to leave or is forced out? Yeah, I think we should just throw out every footballer who doesn't want to play this inept one-dimensional style and remain "Chelsea the Anti-Football" side for another decade. Great for public relations, the global neutral fan and enough to make everyone vomit and leave football entirely for something more entertaining.
    sounds great.

The 'something' is that we play shit football. That's it.
We play the worst football in the league.
We were comprehensively outplayed by Liverpool today. They dominated the game and deserved the win.
There's nothing more to it than we play shit football and lose games as a result.
