Not going to lie, but I thought that Schurrle was the more "Mourinhoesque" player of the two because of his work-rate. But after last night I've realised Willy does exactly the same for us. Another excellent acquisition; he has substance as well as style.

I guess we'll see him more and more. Jose is being patient with him by slowly building his matchrythm. He had no Chelsea preseason, and the intensity of the premier league takes time to adapt too. Expecting him to start against Arsenal.

I agree partially. I agree with how Hazard is Mourinho's star. I've said it a few times myself. As for Oscar being limited compared to others #10, I guess it only applies to Mata, especially because the other three you mentioned play more often [and better] in the wings.
Oscar is Mourinho's favorite son in the team because of how hard he works, his general attitude and how he follows closely everything Mourinho says. Mourinho said it all (except the favorite part). So Hazard is his fave star and Oscar is his fave son. Still there are matches either of them won't play.
Also watching yesterday's match and how Oscar was more daring in his passes, trying the unexpected more often and more splitting passes than he normally does [until Mourinho sent instructions for him through Willian], I guess Mourinho asked him to try to be more narrow, incisive and creative. Mourinho is trying to make him blossom on that and he had a couple of passes there yesterday that were very Mata-esque. The downside right now is that to make those 2-3 passes he completely missed another 2-3 and another 2-3 he and the player to receive the ball were unlucky as the opposition was lucky to touch the ball at the final moment. But he's getting there and I see Mourinho's touch in the way he changed his performance yesterday.

When Hazard switched the play towards Willian, it looked like it was going out of play, not only did Willian keep it in play he lobbed it into the box towards a Chelsea player. Anyone know how he managed that?
Also this is the second time his one touch lob have got us a goal. Worked hard on defence too once he came on and some class passes too, felt he helped keep possession in areas where others might have lost possession.

As far as attacking mids this season goes. Hazard is the only one with a sure spot when fit. Oscar kept himself in the team with good performances. Hazard was a sure bet for the starting eleven even when he was weak. I guess Mourinho sees him as his star player at the moment, and he can play on both wings, Oscar is kinda limited to the nr10 spot with SchΓΌrrle/Willian/Hazard and to a lesser degree Mata around.

I rather have him developed this way. That's also the reason he decided to join Chelsea, had he'd stayed at Anderlecht they would've already throw him into their first team (look at Lukaku/Tielemans). Though good for self-esteem, it hampers you're development also. Lukaku is a good example of where everything went a bit too quickly. There are serious holes in his play that are a direct result of him having to much responsibility too soon (Ballcontrol, First touch). Lukaku payed the price for this rush by sitting on the bench his entire first year at Chelsea, and 2 loan spells.
The father of Musonda saw that (also an ex-Anderlecht player) and chose that Musonda would develop with boy's his age. I do expect him to go on loan in 1-2 years though.

I only meant comparing the assists + goals stats comparison. Comparing a 21yo, first season in Europe in the league that differs the most from Brazilian to a 25yo guy fully adapted to the style and who had played in Europe since he plays football, is the part I disagree with.
That not only I accept, but I also agree. I just meant using the amount of goals and assists they had last season to backup that argument. That isn't fair imo. Also isn't only defensively that Mata is clearly inferior. Tactically as well.
I think Oscar will develop into a better CAM than Mata is, but I think he won't be a better #10. That's where the argument starts and ends in Mourinho's head. He doesn't necessarily wants the best #10 in his formation, but the best CAM. Another manager would rather have the best #10 than the best CAM.
I don't think Oscar will ever be as creative as Mata. I believe that creativity in football is more an inherent gift than something the manager can teach and improve with his guidance. One thing though I'm absolutely sure: he'll score much more goals than the 12 Mata did and maybe more than Mata can ever score (as I think Mata will also grow in that department - and with both growing I can't say who will end up being the best scorer, I just know Oscar will do better than 12 and maybe better than Mata's best).
This isn't even about defensive x offensive football - that I agree with you btw, defensive footie doesn't equal to success. As much as offensive doesn't either. Normally are the most balanced teams that end at the top of the tables. Everyone used to go on and on about how creative and lethal Barça was between 2008-11, but that team had one of the best defenses I've seen in football. they were very solid. Real Madrid problem before Mou wasn't only about the tactics that would work in the team offensively, but also their defense being a liability.
When I say Oscar is going to be a better CAM than Mata I take into consideration everything that is to be considered for the position: work rate, creativity, pace, acceleration, dribbling, tackling, goals scored, assists offered, physicality, vision, intelligence, tactical obedience, decision making, ability to slow down the game as well as speed it up. Oscar is already better than Mata in some of those, will be better than him in a couple more this season already and may be better in another couple as years pass. There are a few of them though he'll never be better than Mata. And that's why I don't like to compare players in general. They have different traits and those traits lead them to have different roles. It's pointless in my opinion because what counts is what works better for the team. Unless we have 10 players that make up for one, like RM makes up for Cris defensively and tactically (partially - as some tactics he can work with).
I'll give you one more thing: the two matches we drew this season weren't matches for Mata imo (we could probably lose to Bayern, for example). The one we won and he didn't play, I don't think we miss him at all - the first half against Hull was the best football Chelsea played in years in my opinion. The one we won and he played he didn't make much a difference - but I think saying that isn't fair to him because he was clearly unfit. So saying he'd be a liability against Bayern, wouldn't make difference against Manchester and wasn't missed against Hull sort of answers some questions. Also, obviously I'm talking about hypotheses here. He could have won us the ManUtd match... or he couldn't have been a liability against Bayern. It's our matches in CL last season against teams that played closer to Bayern (attacked minded, with a good midfield, moving up in blocks), but still not quite like Bayern that make me think that not only he wouldn't make a difference in the attack - because honestly we didn't have an attack problem against Bayern - and most likely would have been a liability defensively.

No, loaned players are not allowed to play against there contract team.
It is the best move Chelsea could have done. People tend to forget that he probably was going to get loaned out again this year, with Torres sucking and Ba not gaining his Newcastle form Mourinho was almost forced to keep Lukaku at the bridge. Now with the coming of Eto'o, we have the strikers we need. Lukaku at his best NOW is not that much better then Torres/Ba/Eto'o, so why keep him? The club tried to sell Ba, but nobody is willing to pay the fee. Loaning out Ba would be a wrong choice given his age, he won't improve that much anyway. With Lukaku at 20 he still has years for him to reach his peak.
People are underestimating the pressure onto him. Chelsea is one of the biggest teams in the world. Despite all the young players we have, we are not patient and nor should we be. We can't afford to rely on youngsters given our stature. And Mourinho knows that. The striker position is the most difficult position, and putting so much pressure ontop of that on a 20 year old is just too much.

Absolute and utter bullshit. Just completed listening to his interview at the NT. Romelu didn't want to go towards West Brom. He chose Everton himself after getting calls from several clubs, and he spoke to the Everton manager for 30 minutes. He also angrily called out to the person who said he was unhappy, he is infact very happy with the loan move. At the end they asked if Mourinho talked to him, while smiling he said it was confidential.
Edit: Here is the link to the interview btw if you understand Dutch: http://www.sporza.be/cm/sporza/voetbal/buitenland/Engeland/130903_lukaku_over_transfer
