  1. Unless someone has a bloody proof that is the case, I really can't fathom why people are choosing to stick with a conspiracy theory. Is it because Ziyech is an easy target due to his situation at the club? Just because we just won the Champions League, it doesn't give us a god's given right to expect players should be choosing us over other clubs, regardless of whether it's PSG or not. If the reports are true - in that the club only tried to offer cash + player and didn't push hard for the deal compared to PSG - then is it any wonder why Hakimi chose them over us? Only one club have

  2. Sorry, not having this “we don’t have the best pulling power” stuff even a little bit. Perhaps for the absolute best of the best like Haaland who will have every top club after him it will be a struggle. But we absolutely have the pulling power to lure world class players. It’s just unfortunate that the ones we want are already at financially stable clubs and will cost mile high fees. We’re as attractive as any club in Europe. We’re in an era where even the West Ham’s and Leicester’s of the world can put their foot down and demand £80m or £100m for their players, ffs. That’s the issue h

  4. Think if we end up with Lukaku most will end up in ruins and rightfully so, last night was another typical performance from him missing from all positions. What I found even more damning was him shushing Donnarumma after scoring a penalty which made it show what a small time player he is, last week he was crying in the press he doesn't get the same respect as Lewa, Ronaldo, etc, while getting triggered on twitter by trolls, hope we stay well clear off him, he really isn't worth the money, time and nerves invested into watching him play for us, Torres was enough for most of us but even Fer

  8. The issue with Haaland or Mbappe transfer is no matter how good they are, the fees along with the Agent fees and salary is going to be crazy. This will lay down template for all future "so called talent" and hard to acquire because the influx of revenue wouldnt go up like the fees are. Clubs needs to seriously start looking at this things and start capping. Yes we are looking at so call superstar of the game but the money is insane and it can bleed out finances thus creating instability.

  10. Well a month ago he made one that won us the second biggest prize in football, to kick on from scoring the clincer in the semi, for one. Assists are subjective, Mount has been robbed of many assists this past season and in this tournament by poor finishing, the other end of the scale would be Matic in 16/17 who stat padded assists by happening to the one passing to Hazard just before a wonder goal. Unless they do it a ridicolous rate like KDB or Fabregas then the quality of assists need looking deeper into. And where was Grealish at Mount's age? Playing in the Championship no

  11. Disgraceful indeed. And not just yesterday, they have been doing it for some time. God forbid if it was some central or eastern European country booing the England anthem, the fans would be slammed, labeled racists or whatever is modern currently and fines and bans would be flying left and right. The whole twitter community of celebrities and pundits would stand together to tackle this behavior But doing it Wembley at other expenses is fine as it seems. Today's world

  13. People do realise we blew everyone out of the water last summer with our spending and it has to be deemed a success because of what we ended up winning. United could have had Sancho last summer but chose to bide their time. It's been a deal that has likely been in the works for over a year so it's hardly like this would have dragged on for another summer. Also they are in talks to sign Camavinga but it's no foregone conclusion. If he is as good as some people on here think and given the price I would expect PSG at the least will be looking at him. People need to give everything time.

  14. Depending on how Mbappe’s contract situation goes, it’s entirely possible that one club could end up signing both he AND Haaland for peanuts next summer. Probably what both Spanish giants are hoping for.

  17. Adama was often double covered last season. On a team like ours, you cant accomplish that because you leave Werner, Pulisic, and all the other speed demons loose. Yes, many flaws are present, but someone with those physical attributes would thrive in limited time or a WB role. Open matches up completely using pace and physicality.

  18. United's transfer dealings deserve absolutely zero praise though. If their board had any competence at all they should have easily wrapped up Sancho a year ago already. The 'links' to Varane and Camavinga are just that, links. Those moves might materialize or they might not, but a bid has not been made and as far as I know United are not in advanced negotiations for these players. Transfer dealings are funny. Pretty much everyone thinks their own clubs are not efficient enough because they religiously check the news multiple times every day and 99% times there's no updates so they th

  19. Spend no more than a couple of hours off the forum to see two new pages of comments in here, expecting something interesting only to see some baseless conspiracy theories about Ziyech and Hakimi being talked about as if they're true, and the window being written off already with the usual witch-hunt of Marina because we haven't brought anyone yet. I enjoy this forum but it is bloody hard work at times.

  21. With the (long running) rumours of Broja being in the squad this season and now the smoke about Sterling's inclusion this season it seems like Tuchel unlike Conte is prepared to improvise a bit if he can't have number 1/ideal targets. 100% the right way to go, especially now as we have a first team line-up that are already top notch and on the up.

  22. Coman rumours are BS. Also I don't think Bayern are too keen on doing business with us. One thing we read early on might very well be true: We are not buying anyone until TT has evaluated all the dregs and decided who should be offloaded and who he will keep in the team. I refuse to believe all our deadwood actually is completely useless. Sure most simply will not cut it at the top level but TT has specific tactical requirements and coaching methods. Some players who did not really fit with those of his predecessors mighte excel under his. Just like Moses was a dreg until tried

  23. The vaccine does not prevent everyone getting a covid-19 variant but no vaccine against any virus even claims to be able to do that. The percentages are heavily in your favour if you are vaccinated however vs being unvaccinated. Just looking at the Pfizer vaccine, more than 19 out of every twenty people who died of covid last week were not fully vaccinated. That means that your chances of dying from covid is more than 19 times higher if you are not fully Pfizered than if you are. The vaccine reduces your chances of contracting covid in the first place and reduces your chances of dying fro

  24. Watch him tear it up in pre season starting another false dawn and with talks how he finally finds his role under TT and having recovered in great shape just to be picked up by the police at 3pm drunk, shirtless with a bag of crisps. Then immediately loaned out to Midtable FC. Rinse and repeat.

  25. What about the others who also played the FA cup final this season, last season or the UEFA Super Cup etc? Or the rest of the Derby team who lost the playoff final also when he was there? Or the rest of the England team who lost the Euros final? You calling them all not capable of being part of trophy winning teams too? Or are you just going after our player of the year for the sakes of being controversial or edgy over a forum which I think the Mount critics are more than anything now because even when he was playing well last season, it was still reoccurring. Same with Jorginho. Its kind

  29. I'm hoping he see's James as the RCB and CHO as a wingback. I think he has got plans for CHO, although he didn't play him in the clutch games his tactical lecture after the City game alone shows he sees something in him. That said I'm hoping with a little more time on the training ground we will see different formations to suit particular opponents more next term, maybe 3atb for the big games and 4 for the games against teams we're expected to beat, bit like how England did it at the Euro's.

  33. As you alluded to yourself, that issue was arguably more down to how Tuchel set us up against the smaller sides. Lest we forget, this team were still the same team that were able to score goals and put away the smaller teams under Lampard. His downfall was obviously the tactical and defensive side of things, which Tuchel has helped fix/improve. So, Tuchel needs to find the balance on how he has us play against the bigger sides vs the smaller sides. Maybe use the back 4 more instead or use more attacking personnel in some positions. This pre-season and early parts of the season might also give

  34. So who would you suggest then fills this clinical goal scorer position that we need? Because beyond Haaland and Lewandowski (and maybe at a stretch Lukaku), I don't see a striker available on the market that looks a shoe-in to fill that void. So with that in mind, do we just buy someone for the sake of buying and hope they fill that void or do we take stock of what we already have at the club and assess whether we can get more out of what we have. Given his struggles last season it's easy to forget that Werner scored 28 goals in 34 games in the Bundesliga the season before. An

  41. It's looking like this Norwich move is on the cusp of being completed. I'd much rather keep him here next season. Jorginho can't play every game, and we don't have another player in the squad besides Gilmour who plays his role in an effective manner. I think Gilmour had a couple of good performances at the end of the season when Tuchel needed to rotate the troops and hopefully will have given Tuchel confidence to trust him more regularly next season. I saw Souness' interview about him staying at Chelsea and I would agree. I think working alongside Jorginho daily and learning from him

  42. I wouldn't say it would be a miracle turn-around to see improvements in the likes of Werner and Ziyech next season. In both cases they have produced in other leagues previously, and for a sustained period of time (i.e. not a one season wonder) which would give me some hope that such form can be replicated to some degree. Granted in Ziyech's case the Dutch league isn't the strongest, but he does have some good form in Europe over the same time. I think that both can benefit from the previous season they've just experienced and I believe both should be afforded this coming season to ju

  43. I'm surprisingly calm about transfers... maybe because we just won the CL and have such a young squad and a big one too. I couldn't give a flying fuck about that twat Hikimi.. he wants to play for that Sunday league team in France, so be it. I'm more interested in the striker we need... Haaland. If we only sign him... I'll be happy.

  44. I don’t disagree with the consistency bit and I was not making an excuse for him at all. Although there aren’t many samples to go off, he was playing arguably his best football and had his most consistent period during that time under Sarri. Hence, I was trying to make the point that that could have been the point where he starts to perform better more regularly but of course, the injury happened, Sarri left and we’re at where we are now. At this point, it’s maybe best he leaves and goes find a club where he can thrive. On a side note, am starting to see a tad too many of ‘hope/maybe Tuch

  45. some people people forget what a monster offensively Ballack was before he turned 30yo and his role shifted a bit even with 6 seasons over 30yo, and changed role (thus less production) he pumped out over 300 goals produced ( goals/assists) averaged around 22 goals produced for 14 seasons worth of full season minutes (including those 6 reduced ones) fucking beast, one of my all-time favourite players ever it is insane to compare RLC to him If the rules were as they are now, Ballack would perhaps be a WC winner (2002, he took a professional yellow in the semi and be

  47. How is it our last chance to win it? We've just won the Champions League with a core group of our squad still young. I understand there are a couple of holes in our squad which hopefully can be filled but we're hardly "well fucked". In fact our dominance in Europe last season suggests to me that we could be well set up with our current group to challenge again. I genuinely feel next season we'll be one of the teams no one will want to draw. In my opinion having Tuchel at the helm who has already proven is amongst the best around at present, a now established tactical set up and a yea
