  1. Sterling looked sharp. You can see once he gets in his full stride, he is going to be an absolute menace for the opposition this season.

  2. At the start of the transfer window it seemed that the general opinion across this forum was that Kounde was overrated and a waste of money if we were to buy him. Now we've explored other options and then decided to go back to him but may not get him, the forum has a meltdown like we're losing Maldini. I personally haven't been against Kounde. I see aspects of his game that can flourish and besides his height, weaknesses in his game that can be coached out of him or that will improve with maturity. The price is steep however, and I can fully understand the club looking at alternatives to

  5. Never, EVER again should we table a bid until the player himself gives their word that they want to come. It makes us look like total amateurs and a small club. Looks like two identical chains of events now. Bid massive money, agree with the selling club, player himself finds terms acceptable, then the player decides on Barca. DO NOT BID FOR A PLAYER WITHOUT THEIR IRONCLAD COMMITMENT TO MOVE TO Chelsea!

  6. The going to join up with Sevilla thing not effecting our negotiations sounds like horseshit. If the deal was super close to Chelsea he could join up with us and not miss more than a couple of days training. He’s doing a Raphinha and biding time for Barca to put together a bid.

  8. Barca selling everything they have after seeing Madrid do the double. The thing is, they are not spending it wisely at all. Ps. I have friends who support Barca and I always mention the Spotify in Spotify Camp Nou to remind them that one of the most legendary stadiums, sold their soul.

  9. And from tuchel interview, he keep saying "That decision is difficult (let go some player going back to london) because we have really big group. Hard to see them not being part of our squad here bla bla" And yet, he keep giving a lot of minutes to some player like bat, kenedy who have 0 future in here. Sad to see this thing keep happening. What is tuchel actually thinking anyway?

  12. Ampadu gave a way the ball and the ball struck Chalobah in the arm on the strike. He goes to ground in the box too much, when you do that you have no control over your arms. That’s not the first pen he’s given away like that

  13. Results don’t matter but when you travel abroad for preseason tours you want to out on a good show for the fans. I actually feel bad for these tens of thousands of Chelsea fans watching that. Mix and match teams or not that was a diabolical performance. Most of the players straight up didn’t look fussed at all. Look what Bayern and Barca have done to MLS opposition compared to this. We should be blowing this sort of team away no matter who is playing.

  14. Thankfully defenders that can play in a back 3 (as in true CB’s or Full backs that can play tucked in) is by far the deepest talent pool in world football. Of course some aren’t likely to be available or have chosen Barcelona,Bayern etc..instead but there’s still plenty of options. Even if we just looking for some depth. KK and Silva will be regular starters,Trev,Colwill,Ampadu options for the 3rd spot at present.which wouldnt be too bad but could do with another option.because 6th choice for Malang Sarr is way too close to starting for my nerves. Tuchel seems to like someone who cou

  17. If Kounde does end up at Barcelona (not much of a loss IMO), it will be down to us. We've blown hot & cold for the last three windows, so blame should be pointed in the right direction. The only similarity to the Raphinha saga is Barcelona being involved.

  18. Boehly has been made to look like a proper mug by Barcelona. Laporta inviting him for dinner then immediately beating him to both Raphinha and Kounde. Its as if Laporta got Boehly drunk and got him to admit all of his transfer plans. Pathetic.

  19. The club really should learn from the Raphinha situation and just give the fucker till midnight today to make a clear decision whether he'll join or not. If yes, complete the deal within the next 24 hours. If he hesitates, tell him he's free to wait for a Barcelona bid that may never come and the Chelsea offer isn't on the table anymore. Enough of this waiting around, the season starts in two weeks.

  25. I think the reason we are in for him as opposed to a more conventional cb is that we rely on our cbs to bring the ball through midfield. Due to having only 3 actual attackers in our 343, Rüdigers deep runs with the ball were vital to even get the ball into the channels without our AMs or wingbacks having to drop back. that being said I still believe we need at least another ideally leftfooted/ambipedal AM who is fast and strong in 1 on 1 dribbles if we can not get a proper striker. Otherwise we will still be very predictable going forward

  26. Can Kounde play striker?

  27. He was actually pretty good in midfield bar the give away but having him and Conor together was too much inexperience and they are both not press resistant. Charlotte definitely realized this and pressed the hell out of our midfield and defenders. They had most of the possession in the second half.

  28. Back 3 is ass. If silva is too old to play in a back 4 then don’t play him, simple as. About time we had a system suited to our attackers strength not the defenders

  29. I do rate him and really like him as a big part of the squad but we absolutely, 100% need another forward signing that can score goals. Because as of right now I don’t see how we score goals at a high enough rate to keep up with the top 2. Even with an improved defense and Sterling as an upgrade on the left I can see us having the exact same sort of season with the exact same frustrations as we did last season at this moment in time. Loads and loads of matches where we dominate poor opposition but can’t score goals because we have serial chokers like Ziyech/Werner/Pulisic/CHO in attack a

  30. Tuchel tactics is too safe, which is why I ultimately believe we will never compete with Pool and City in the league. Unless he changes tactics, I was hoping we would transition to a back 4 and add one more attacker on the field. In the CL I still believe we will be a dangerous team, but over 38 games we need much more goals.

  36. Maybe it's a hybrid but it feels like the Jose 4231 with Alonso bombing forward (Ivanovic style) and James being more conservative (Azpi style). It got me thinking a bit because Ziyech was playing like a pure number 10 for the first half an hour.

  41. Agree on everything bar the last comment. I think there was a feeling and perception of the old regime and the club in general by proxy being very cold and callous. I get the impression that whilst there could well be a more business like feel in some aspects, I also feel that the new ownership will look to try and bring a more personal touch to the club, better relations with the CST and CPO, etc.

  44. That window with him, morata, zappacosta and drinkwater must have been the worst in the last 10 years. Almost 200m in fees and wages down the drain. Incredible how the club recovered from that barely taking a financial hit. Not even the Kepa Jorginho window was that bad with both at least having a few half decent games for us. So so hope that now with Petr as advisor we have a bit more footballing brain power on board. As for Bakayoko, stick him to the reserves or Vitesse forall I care.TT has worked miracles on some guys but i guess Baka is a lost cause.
