  1. Lower clubs? I don't agree that clubs with owners not as rich as some should receive less money from the EPL. You simply can't say because we are Chelsea we are entitled more then say Brighton, don't u ever forget that we once was a lower club, so have some respect and don't turn your nose up at clubs like we used to be.

  2. Optimism level: 0 Despite what many people said, Chelsea success in past 20 years had everything to do with people who were running the club. New owners got zero experience with football, and he comes from American sports background. In USA you might run a franchise like Knicks, who gets poor results and still makes cash. The future of this club is probably the present day United and Arsenal: 0 pressure for results, as long as financial situation is great. Chelsea was a club that demanded results. Not different how Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern operate. Now the clubs is going

  3. Very, very similar skill set but in a bigger, more athletic frame. Ziyech is so skinny and weak that he always gets pushed around.

  4. After watching Neymars documentary on Netflix... no thanks. He plays for himself and himself only.

  5. In my opinion Tuchel and Boehly should be making a list of players for each of the positions they feel need to be resolved. If the top one or two aren't available this summer, then move on to a different position. If it ends up where only 2 or 3 are available instead of 5 or 6 then get those and keep our powder dry for January or next summer. Personally, I feel we'll get Sterling and at least one centre back in. I would like us to do something in the wing back roles too but like above, unless they're top targets then I don't want us simply buying for the sake.

  6. If he wants to move on because he was rightly criticised for his performances then I'll drive him to his new club myself.

  7. Some people are going to absolutely melt down if there aren't players brought in. My opinion is that it is better not to buy anyone if the result is just more Kepa/Lukaku/Bakayoko/Drinkwater type signings. Obviously it isn't ideal, as we do have a lot of holes. However, I am now at the stage where I really cannot be doing with anymore pony signings and would just rather go with youth players if good options aren't possible.

  8. The TV revenue distribution is correct in my opinion. Yes the top 4 - 6 teams are what drive the revenues but you still need the other 14 teams to make the league and its competitive nature is definitely a selling point in the marketability and brand. It is also vitally important for the whole football pyramid that these revenues trickle down. There is certainly an argument on possibly a greater share or greater disparity in payments for league finish, but the overall TV distribution should remain equal. The parachute payments however I don't agree with as it does create yo-yo t

  9. EPL tv rights and money distribution is primary responsible, equal distribution of money is terrible and it gives lower club a lot of power.

  10. Your not wrong. But I think it will get worse before it gets better. 60 mill is the new 30 100 mill is the new 50 etc etc, I heard now I don't know if this is facts but this haaland transfer will total 250m in the end.

  11. Don't get me wrong I don't blame the club, I blame the system that heavily rewards such underachieving. Leeds shouldn't be in a position where they can turn down £60m for a player and West Ham defiently shouldn't be in a position to demand £150m for one.

  12. Signing both Sterling and Raphinha would cost over 100m. Don't see the club bidding for both with 2 CBs to be signed as well.

  13. It seems like Kounde is not top of TTs preferred choice as a CB, the way we are dealing with it atm gives me the vibe of us feeling the price tag is too high (we have not even started negotiating) and if he ends up else where then so be it.. seeing as we have an agreement in place with the player but not pulling the trigger just yet for the buy.. We could also be keeping an eye on the status of TTs preferred targets

  14. I think Marina would have held out for more from Inter and didn’t care if Lukaku was forced to stay. That could have been terrible for us going forward as far as team building and distractions. At the end of the day, we will probably never know the finer details.

  15. gnabry would be the best option. he's not that expensive either. but it looks like he does not want to come here or our people are not interested in him for some reason.

  16. exactly, is that not the point? Ziyech's problem is that he is frail, weak and slow. He has great technique and those mean whipped in balls are a real danger, he just can't get them in often enough bc he is so easy to bully off the ball and can't beat players. Ideally we would get rid of Timo, Hakim and get all three Sterling, Raphinha and Dembele. All three are completely different in style but are very fast, great on the ball and have output which is more than can be expected of our current crop.

  17. It's not hate, it's a general dislike from fans that buying him has brought with it (and this is in no way a dig to the American's on this forum) a fan following of people that either have no real interest in Chelsea but an interest in Pulisic/USMNT, or no real great interest in football but an interest in Pulisic because he's the most identifiable American playing soccer. There's too many people that see him put a top performance in against Haiti or the Solomon Islands and think he must be the greatest player in the history of the sport. Even people you'd expect to have a shred of

  18. I think if we were going to do this then the obvious candidate becomes Cech given he already has some board experience and from what I understand, some aspects of his role entail what a sporting director would usually do. My understanding with the likes of Werner and Havertz was that Cech and Lampard did a very good job selling the club passionately, which shouldn't be a charade to them. It's essentially 'their' club. Whether you can rely on an ex player to fulfil such an important role with limited or no experience I think could be a bit of a risk. However you are right I think a nu

  19. I'm getting the feeling that Kounde could well not happen. The links with him have been obvious given the failed attempt for him last summer, but nothing has moved with it and now there have been a lot of links to Barca with him. I wonder if Tuchel is being given more free reign over targets whether he has more preferred options and the deal has run cold.

  21. I still don't really understand a scale of hate on this guy. Wonder if it's justified or people are just riding on the "marketing buy" sentiment. He had never been a top player, not sure if he ever had a potential to become one. He's rather a type of talented team player, yet to develop, very intelligent and likeable guy with good work ethic, probably financially attractive, who impacted some very important moments for us, so why not give him some slack? If anyone expected him to be a second Mbappe, well then, there's you problem. Personally I'm more let down with Zyiech's expectati

  22. Not everything will go smoothly, but I'm genuinely looking forward to the next chapter in our club. It's clear that there are a lot of things that could be done far more efficiently at the club and still keep us challenging for trophies, and I'm confident that Boehly, in time, will put things in place to make that happen. I like the idea of the manager being backed not just with resources, but with time and patience. I believe that of all the managers we've had during Roman's era at the club, Tuchel is probably the one that you'd want coming into this position. He's already built a rappor

  23. Raphinha is basically a more athletic and direct Ziyech. A left footer who plays on the right. He is great at just getting the ball and taking on defenders. And he’s got the same sort of wand like delivery as Hakim. A player who can also shoot a bunch from long distance which many of our attacking players recently have been allergic to. Another positive is that he knows the league and won’t need time to settle to the pace of the game. Especially coming from a Leeds side who play balls to the wall, ridiculously fast paced football. I think Sterling and Dembele should be the first two choic

  24. Honestly apart from the last six months (which were the last of his contract), what has been impressive about Dembele? Off the pitch he and his representatives are also meant to be absolute nightmares to deal with. Personally, I'd take Raphinha's graft and commitment over a flaky talent who has only shown decent/great form whenever he seems to be playing for a move or a new contract.

  26. What is so worrying about Arsenal's business? Sterling is better than Jesus at the same price, Arsenal are way off Raphinha's valuation. I don't know about the Portuguese league player they signed. Chelsea didn't have a board in place a month ago and are now handling everything else (sponsorships, megastore) on top of recruitment. I like Boehly's decisiveness and back the coach approach and don't think that the recruitment team has been slow so far even though that's all you read on this forum these days.

  32. What makes you think Lukaku was a Tuchel choice? I had assumed from the beginning that he wasn't.
    1 point
  33. Thank fuck. Priority number one was always going to be shipping Lukaku off, because the longer he stays, the more toxic the environment will become. Now we can focus on rebuilding the squad, also while dealing with the Alonso / Azpi situation along the way.

  34. Tuchel has done good as a manager in short term but I'm still not sure about his recruitment. We started bad with Luakaku, I am holding my breath to what comes next. I still say Lampard was good at spoting talent, not good as a coach. Make him our SD,

  35. This is what I thought. I have said for years that she must've been the one in charge of final sign off as she clearly had a lot of power and most after RA but people refused to believe it and made out like she was some number crunching bookeeper. Personally, I don't think it was the plan to have Granny leave this early in the process (Buck doesn't really surprise me, as I always suspected TB would step into his role) as we're in the middle of the window and she has obviously been the go to contact but something must've happened/been realised. My suspicion (obviously all this is)

  36. Arse moving rapidly on big targets. Targets that we’ve been linked with ourselves. And they’ve already signed a pretty expensive midfielder today. A club everyone has clowned for years for being useless and sluggish in the market. Now even they are moving rapidly whilst we’re Things Will Happen Soon FC. They’re not even in the CL, FFS!
