  1. This was before ManU decided Rom wasn't good enough for them. It also predates the time many posters here point to as the period when Rom made his supposed improvement at Inter. I believe Rom will score goals and I believe he will also frustrate us. Let's hope there are enough of the goals to keep the frustration from boiling over. Meanwhile I simply am not excited about this move and I would be lying if I pretended otherwise.

  2. I've already been proven right... he's improved massively, he was already a proven before he left the Premier league, and the drills they had him doing at inter have helped him even more. To say the Italian league is garbage is also nonsense that nation just won the euros and most players are from that league. And why would I take your mates advice who ATTEND the Shedend, lukaku has played for inter for past 2 seasons, not like they are watching him week in week out isn't lmao

  3. There's just so many things wrong about this. For starters, a player who by the age of 26 already sat #20 on the list of all-time PL goalscorers was not a flop by any definition of the word. He might not have been a superstar success at Man Utd but he still scored 42 goals in two seasons for them, he just wasn't the best fit for how they played football at the time. And as for his time at Inter, he played there for two seasons (not one) and scored 23-24 league goals in both seasons. I won't go into the argument on whether Serie A is a 'lower level league' or not but Lukaku got POTY i

  5. Big Rom has even bigger ago end a very bad attitude. His antics at Man United and fall outs with everybody and everyone got really bad from the moment Ole was starting Rashford instead of him. We have that big ego, bad attitude player after he enjoyed royalty status in Milan, where he was considered the king of Milan and we expect him to accept being rotated. OK. I guess he could have signed extra clause in his contract to accept Tuchel's rotation system and go with it and we could actually not see him in line ups for certain games. In that case, even I would be OK with this signing.

  6. Exactly. And while we're talking about Serie A being a 'lower level league' I would also like to point out that Mo Salah scored 35 league goals over 2,5 seasons while playing over there (0.43 goals/game). He then joined Liverpool and scored almost as many goals in his first season in the PL and has kept a really impressive scoring rate for four years now (95 league goals in 145 games, averaging 0.65 goals/game). If the Serie A is such a garbage league, how come Salah didn't really dominate there but broke the record for most PL goals over one season in his first year back? Just

  7. I meant about knowing nothing about football or players, the fact u can say lukaku is like Heskey, makes anything you say from now on irrelevant.

  8. I know we don't need him but I would give my left bollock to see Chiesa play for us. What a gem. Also keen on Lacotelli but it seems he has his head of noodles set on joining Juve.

  9. true, but Grealish carries the English add-on in his price tag. Lukaku had a pretty bad time last time in the PL, turned it around in Italy, which still makes it a pretty big bet in my book: regardless of being "better" the PL has its own characteristics. I sure hope he at least keeps his Italian fitness. I actually think Kane is a much better footballer and weren't for his Injury proneness, I'd say he'd be worth the additional cost. I just feel that football has changed recently and a pure #9 does not buy you as much anymore. Sure hope to be wrong here.

  10. I don't care if 15 goals is an upgrade on what we have, if you put Abraham and play him 30 matches a season he can score 15 Premier league goals as well, as I said for the fee paid, PL experience, at the peak of his career and a supposed world class striker as some say he is anything below 20 non penalty Premier league goals is a disgrace, Kane reaches this number every season even when he spends a month or two on the sidelines. I don't care he will miss a 2-3 matches at the start of the season has over 30 matches to score at least 20 goals, as for tactics it's irrelevant he is assigned to fin

  11. Its not just problem with Chelsea. Is with every top club. Players that cost that amount of money they most show quality immediately.

  12. This. Players that cost that money don't have time to adapt. He needs to score immediately

  13. Paying 100 millions for a so called in his prime player with PL experience and needs time to adjunct while scoring 15 PL goals would be good, surely you taking the piss, anything below 20 non penalty goals in the PL and around 30 goals overall is a big joke for the fee we paid for him.

  17. If Håland ends up at Bayern, that is close to the best outcome for us missing out on him. Keeps him isolated in Germany, only have to worry about him in the CL, and Bayern simply cannot keep signing giant players like the other big 8 or so clubs. They simply do not have the revenue. We should go ALL-OUT for Mbappe next year. Do not give a rat's red arse about the wage. I hope all the rest of the big clubs absolutely cock block Barca and especially Real Madrid. Do NOT allow them sign any of the monster players. Removing Håland and Mbappe from their recruitment goes a LONG wa

  18. that's very easy one to answer: silverware (and not FA cup ) After all, did we not win the CL without him, or a "proper" #9?

  19. If Lukaku does not win us the league, it most likely is because City are just too good over a 38 game period. I don't think it would differ with Haaland. However, signing Lukaku for me assures me that we will not be in a top 4 battle once again and can actually be looking towards a title challenge rather than top 4 battle.

  22. Well your wording sounds like a person who does not pay much attention to football around the globe. How could you even call him a flop? And as was mentioned above, Italy won the Euros where virtually nearly every single player in that team came from that league. Poor, poor league right? With Lukaku, he can't win. When it's questioned his record for scoring against top teams, it is the fact that he is playing for lower league teams who he has more space to counter but with big teams he finds it more difficult. When he scores goals for fun in Italy against teams who sit deep, it is because the

  23. Only in Serie A,clubs will go replace their 28 y.o. star man with a guy almost 10 years older lol About Moriba, i am 90% sure he is not signed for the senior squad but i can be wrong as he made quite a bit of mileage for BArcelona in la liga as well.

  25. Mount will play. Harvetz will play some and sit out some. Same with Werner. So, better players (than Lukaku) will sit for him to play. I guess it is what it is. Just hope Tuchel has the guts to do the right thing when the situation demands it.

  30. So we are to take he’s not a good signing off of a video that is 1 minute 52 seconds long when he played over 3000 minutes in Serie A, 474 minutes in the CL and 473 minutes in the EL last season? Aye ok then. People are looking too much into it though. Hes an elite goalscorer first and foremost.

  32. 25-30 years of watching Chelsea and football in general would say otherwise. I'd say someone who thinks one season in a lower quality league makes a previous flop a superstar is clueless. I think he will get goals as he will have so much quality around him. Modern day heskey for me

  35. the first one for Roman too and then the big one, the FIFA world club championship the only trophy still contested we have never won and the last year it is simple and relatively easy to do (it goes to 24 teams for the next one) and also, as the next one likely will not be played until 2023 we will get to wear the gold world champions shield badge for 2 straight years

  39. The main difference I see from the Lukaku we had as a youngster and the Lukaku we're about to sign is his physical play. Now he is a monster holding up the ball and going into aerial duels. Can't wait to once again have a proper target-man leading the line, have a feeling this time around he'll fuck shit up.

  40. Thankfully we don’t really need him to do anything outside of his strengths. Put away the chances we create, stretch defenses by running in behind, hold the ball up and bring others into play like he did well at Inter. Simple as that. Unlike his time at United or Everton we have loads of players who can handle the creativity and buildup. Tuchel won’t be asking him to be Messi or Harry Kane or one of these strikers who drops deep and becomes a playmaker spraying the ball around. The club and TT clearly wanted a classic #9 and that’s what Rom is. Let’s hope it pays off.

If there was no rumours and gossip on halaand you would be so happy right now. You lot are not real Chelsea fans at all. I know Lukaku is gonna smash it here he suits us absolutely perfect. I personally cannot wait and believe the premier League is within reach finally!!!

  43. A little sceptical but it has to say something that universally Inter fans are broken that he's leaving and all Italian pundits are saying this is a different player to the one that left United a couple of years ago. The biggest thing for me is that he has never had a problem with the burden of being the chief goal threat of a team. If anything he thrives off of that responsibility and in turn I think it will benefit the likes of Werner and Havertz to not be shouldered with that same burden. They themselves (along with the likes of Mount and Pulisic) I think will thrive off being seconda

  46. It looks like a pretty much done deal. Lukaku wants to play into a top club to win trophies and that won't happen any time soon with Inter Milan given financial difficulties they face. Besides he want to take it revenge in the PL. And its wage will be increased by 40% or so. Personal agreements seem to have been agreed 2 weeks ago or so. It all remains to convince Inter Milan and not to over-pay. Marina knows how to make it. We need a class striker - Werner somehow failed - and Lukaku can make it but I am not convinced by that player - sometimes brainless. Hopefully he did improve over the las

  47. Agreed with the first point. Think the second is irrelevant: City has been winning the PL without a #9 and so did Liverpool. I'm afraid that the price tag and name will make him play more than he should, even if not in great form. I guess we will find out.
