  1. This is after getting subbed I don't know whether he is in pain or praying for the team on the pitch, but man, I keep saying it over and over again but this man is such a legend that breathes football. And a warrior. Fingers crossed he is fine to face Real Madrid.

  2. Le Bron is a small fry in this. The combined wealth of just the 15 founding clubs' owners and owner groups (like Barca amd RM who have thousands of owners) is over half a trillion usd.

  3. But at the same time, do we really want to watch Chelsea vs Barcelona say 4 times a year? Remember how people moaned in the past about certain clubs always face each other in the Champions League - e.g. Arsenal v Bayern? At some point, the allure of those big fixtures will be gone in the Super League and we'll be looking at those games like Burnley v West Brom. And it's also why our tie against Real Madrid feels big, special etc because we have rarely played them in Europe.

  4. The timing is terrible. all the players now have their heads in the clouds... should i leave the club so i can sitll play the world cup? do we even need to win this? why the f did they not simply wait after the season is over... duds

  5. This is quite possibly the greatest embarrassment in the history of sports.

  7. He is finished at RB imo, he's average there as he needs to bomb forward and track back with his declining pace. Not his strengths, James is better suited for running up and down the field all game long. However I don't think anybody ever wrote Azpi off at CB, this particular system suits him perfectly. Tuchel is great, a tactical mastermind. One thing I also like about him is that he shows trust in his fringe players, like Kepa, to play in a big game like FA Cup semi-final. Many managers wouldn't have the balls, the backup keeper usually stops playing around the quarter/semi-final stages

  8. What a win that was, Mount was sublime again.

  9. Although he went off slightly earlier, I still give my MOTM to Mount. He was fantastic once again. Constantly got fouled, however he always looked to make things happen and caused Fernandinho nightmares. His awareness is so good and he is always one step ahead. Love the way he receives the ball and just sharply turns away from an opposing player and leaves them in no man's land. Chilwell's performances getting a lot stronger again too. Had a fantastic game also as did rest of team.

  10. Hes building well on Conte and Sarri. Using Conte's defensive structure as a foundation but the midfield possession is something that started with Sarri (Conte never had the players like Jorginho and Kovacic and in all honesty I don't think Conte has the perspective to coach a possession based team like Tuchel and Sarri). The exciting thing is that TT hasn't had any breathing room between matches to really stamp his coaching in training. I really like his perspective of football. Going up the next step will be more efficient and expansive attack which is slowly but surely booming.

  11. Zero comments on this thread since WBA. How typical? He puts one very bad game and his haters show up. Now 4 great games and not a word.

  12. This. TT also was very pragmatic at Mainz, copying the opponents system with man marking in many matches. He is overall a pragmatic coach as can be seen with the variety of systems employed. His main philosophy is as he says be bold in defence and quick in attack. +suck the life of others teams with resoluteness and monopolizing posession. Only at Dortmund he had a very attacking set up with many players floodingthe opponents box.But that is bc it is dortmunds identity to play like this. Other than than TT has always had a clear concept of strong defensive foundation.

  13. the English clubs if they do not kicked out of PL at least still have the edge of a competitive and better endowed domestic league. Also they are 6 so the odds of an English club dominating are at least numerically enhanced. But yeah short term barca real are main beneficiaries as they once more evade bankcruptcy.

  16. It seems that it was announced with the US in mind. Its not even prime time here yet

  17. Let’s not pretend the PL, UEFA and FIFA gives a feck about us fans like they are giving it here. Not a while ago, PL had tried to attempt to charge us £15 per game during the pandemic. They are all corrupt. The lot of them.

  18. Our record in the big games is immaculate. Euro super league could be TT's competition

  19. Well does it matter now? Super League might possibly go ahead next season Excited what happens now lol. Eventhough Ihtink this is too much too soon, I relish how uefa and fifa must be fuming right now haha

  21. Florentino Perez to be Chairman Henry, Glazer, Kroenke and Agnelli to be vice-chairmen wtf one of the most corrupt presidents to run it? and then 3 YANKS plus the ultimate mafioso family (the Agnellis) to be the underbosses?

  22. “15 permanent members who cannot be relegated” is the line that stood out to me. Disgusting cash grab.

  23. These teams (including my Chelsea) are big only because of fans and the money they get out of our viewership.i for one, will not support a club that goes against the fundamentals of fair 'competition". I know a buckload of other true blues who would not.

  24. Why does anyone want to join a European Super League? Never mind Spurs? Why do we want to join it? Or United or Juventus or anyone else? It shows a complete disregard for the fans and also the history of various domestic leagues. What a joke. The PL and UEFA’s stance is absolutely right and I can’t believe you don’t see why they have taken this stance and got involved. If clubs want to play it they shouldn’t be part of their domestic leagues or the CL, it is as simple as that. It would ruin football, its not through UEFA its some big shot American bank who wants t

  25. I would keep Ziyech in the starting eleven, so he can get more match fitness. He needs more game time and he scores quite regularly since couple of weeks

  26. Getting his groove back slowly but surely. People forget he's been unlucky with injuries throwing him off the rhythm all the time. If he manages to stay fit, I can see him only getting better. I especially like how in his post-match interview he acknowledged that he isn't yet at his best. Love the mentality.

  27. Criminally underrated by our fans more than anything. There have been so called Chelsea fans who were saying he was finished last season and the season before.

  28. How the ref didn't book Fernandinho is beyond me. Poor old Azpi looked knackered at the end. He's been a consistently good player for us.

  29. For sure but as long as the ball goes into the net and we win. Who cares who does what.

  30. For bookmakers final Chelsea:PSG least likely to happen. For me most likely.
    1 point
  31. Agreed. The Real game is very 50/50 for me, however I think PSG is a bad match up for City as Neymer/Mbappe will have a field day against their high line. However, for PSG both us and Real are their nightmare. For me, if PSG get to the final, both us or Madrid should be favourites. If City get there, it will be tougher because if they step up their intricate play at a reasonable pace, they can pull both our and Real's defence about.

  32. This team with this spirit and with this coach CAN win CL THIS SEASON
    1 point
  33. 10 goals 9 assists (12 if you want to include penalties) For someone who hasn't been great this season - in his debut season no less - that is a decent G/A contribution. That's also at least 3 more than anyone else in the team. If he can sort himself out and regain his mojo, one would expect those numbers to be better next season.

  41. Honestly I disagree. Winning is what counts. History doesn't say you won the trophy with style and panache. You just won. Like our CL victory. Would take that everyday.

  45. Thanks for that info on Lamprey. The transfer makes more sense after reading that. Think he might well be playing for a top 6 club in a couple of years.

  46. I agree for now. A striker is not much needed but a better CM. We definitely need to spend some money there, but like I always says if the opportunity rises to sign Haaland we should go for it.
