  1. This season yes, last season two German sides made it while the runaway champions were dumped out by a diluted Atletico and the 2nd place team were dumped out by the 10th place French side. Not to mention even this year the PL's 2nd team were dumped out thanks to losing to a team that are fighting relegation in Turkey.

  2. Lamptey wanted to leave and had 6 months left on his contract, that's why the valuation was low. If he'd stayed and played U23 footie for the remainder of the season he'd have been a free agent so 3 million was definitely better than nothing for a player who had a grand total of 45 minutes professional football under his belt. The club offered Lamptey an extension but he refused because he wanted a clearer path to first team football and Brighton were willing to give him that. With a reliable veteran like Azpilicueta and a hugely rated youngster like James in the team I really can't blame

  3. whetever it is worth when we are lacking crucial players at the all deciding end of the season.

  4. I'm in favour of going with Gilmour here. With Kovacic injured and the need to manage the minutes of Kante-Jorginho-Mount. The top 4 race, CL semis are more important than this game

  5. When the two played together in the youth team Reece was regularly preferred to Tariq. The coaches were always aware that it was crazy to leave such a talented player out of the side however so they eventually settled on playing Reece at RCB in a three. With Tariq at RWB the system worked beautifully. Among all the good youth teams we've had in recent seasons, that 2017/18 squad was the best. Reece and Tariq were key contributors as the side played attractive, dominant football on its way to a quadruple of trophies. Reece in the RCB role could be worth a try.

  6. I can see Kane going to City rather. Fits Guardiola's style better than Haaland and is more affordable. Really hope he goes abroad tho.

  12. This is a very good post. People here need to get with the times a little bit and realise that the PL is the preeminent league again, like it was in the late 70-mid 80's and from about 2004-2009. In 2019 the EL and CL finals had four English clubs and 2021 has a good chance of it happening again, or at least 2-3. I rate Håland as he has a lot of qualities I like in a CF, however, I don't see him coming to the PL and instantly becoming a 25+ a goal striker. My prediction would be something like 15+ for his first season or two (see Drogba's initial start.) However, owing to his age, you wo

  14. He isn't ready, still very raw and this season he was poor probably lacked motivation and wants to change club, thing is his potential is very big (saw him a few times last season and this), I know we're a top club and need already polished players but considering our team right now and how the likes of Kai, Mount, Reece are still extremely young and need to develop I don't mind waiting for Camavinga as well until he develops into the player I and others believe he can become. I really hope the club moves forward from the likes of Jorginho and Kante this summer and find players whom don't hav

  15. Matt Law: "Some people around Chelsea have told me they don’t need a striker, what they need is a someone like Cesc Fabregas and that’s how the goals will be unlocked. Thomas Tuchel last week gave a real hint that he might play a different system next season too"

  16. Two English clubs reached CL semi finals, while non German club reached it. Furthermore, three English club reached round of 16 in EL, while all German clubs failed reaching round of 16. Why is that the case? Maybe because Bundesliga has just not enough quality? I have warned you guys about Werner that he is not as good as people make him out to be. Almost all people here claimed that Werner is this insane world class striker that will destroy PL, but ironically the only people that warned TC about Werner's weaknesses were German people. I can say that Fulham and WBA would be top 1

  17. Aye its a sad day when footballers aren’t allowed to have a bit about themselves/be characters/show emotion/defend themselves or teammates or coaches etc. Some people need to toe the line a bit, not that Rudiger is bad. Look at Costa as well as Sergio Ramos and Pepe in particular over the years they needed to get involved in extra physical battles or be fired up to play at their best. Everyone wants robots now and its sad to see. Minute people take the adrenaline and emotion out of footballers and football games the game will become so boring. Even more so as it is with no fans.

  19. It is not a pen by the rules of every single footballing authority within the UEFA. And every referee knows it. Just as every referee should know to let the foul run to give the VAR a chance to help. The only explanation is that they acted the way they did on purpose. https://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/lawsandrules/laws/football-11-11/law-12---fouls-and-misconduct I agree with you. The rule is stupid. Just heading the ball into your arms could easily be exploited as a way to make a close control without risking it to get away from you. but a rule is a rule.

  20. He was in training before the Liverpool game. Hope he is involved because all the pre-match attention will be on him. Funnily, no one has mentioned Courtois since the draw was made - it's all been about Eden
