  1. Silva is 37 and out of contact this summer, Chris is 24 and might stay long term, so as long as the Dane is playing this well, there is no reason to drop him.

  2. Someone at the calibre of Tuchel very likely wouldn't have accepted the job at that point. Yes the season wasn't perfect, yes Lampard made some very strange decisions (shoehorning an out of sorts Kante in every game he was available drove me up the wall) but there was enough encouragement from when the performances did come together that it could have progressed into a good end product. We were also largely good in the big games despite often not getting the result we desired, he also got a level out of Pulisic that not even Tuchel has managed to do (at BVB or so far here). The hope

  3. Nothing to do with respecting Lampard or the job he did last season or whatever. Just its monotonous to log on look in a thread and see the same drivel basically. When theres more relevant/more recent things related to the games or Tuchel we could be talking about. Must be about the 283747th variation of how much better is Tuchel than Lampard in a period of about 10 games from the same guy. Not even an ounce of explanations or any analysis just a repetition of a mind numbingly unfunny/uninteresting comments which is obviously an attempt at trying to be witty/a dig to some people, whi

  4. You are actually starting to get irritating now. You were already warned once by @Jason and you acknowledged the warning and then you continue with your childish insults. Yes, he looked a little bit out his depth but please remember this is a legend we are talking about who still guided us into the Champions League with a transfer ban Think he is just trying to wind people up. He can't help it. Ohh and just got another notification with another reply from him, no doubt an insult.

  5. Yes one fluke season although the next season everytime Luiz played he was piss poor, resorting to his old self, in a back 3. Christensen has had some good games in a back 4 at times, contrary to belief, including in Germany. Not to the same level hes put in under Conte in a 3 and with Tuchel now but still some decent games. That wee run in the end of the season with Sarri including the Europa League final he was good, he didn’t play a lot of PL games but featured throughout the Europa League in 15 games and played well enough. Yet never mentioned. I think he’s taken the stick

  6. We get it. You think Lampard wasnt even an average manager. Thing is, now, most will agree. Clearly, anyone who doubted Tuchel’s appointment has undoubtedly been convinced, even the pro Frank side. Posts are beginning to sound like a broken record, repeatedly dwelling on us sacking Lampard and replacing him with Tuchel. It will more so start to annoy some folk than make them laugh bud. Maybe something more relevant to the time, many agreed the time FL had to go but gets monotonous seeing the same comments or similar ones over and over...

  10. Never thought it would come to a point where we see a team being rather heavily reliant on Morata.

  11. Just watched Bayern v. Borussia Dortmund. Incredible match, Bayern won 4-2 from 2-0 down. Levandowski scored three, both Dortmund goals scored by Haaland. Bayern are visibly the best team in Europe: - Accurate long distance balls. - Tremendous strength, they come out winners out of hard tackling situations & they 're not afraid to get into those. - Levandowski, Miller up front Their defense is also good and hard for opponents to go through, despite those two Dortmund goals.

  12. My eyes bleed at that first video when we could have played in Werner early... Anyway, playing through the press and the others bit are what we saw under Sarri and to an extent under Conte. This is what can happen when we have a manager who implements a structure in the team and coach the players about possession and positional play. It also helps with our counter-pressing if we lose the ball along the way.

  14. Psychologically, Tuchel is sincere with how he speaks. You can tell he doesnt hide his passion or intention, there is purpose with everything he says and does. Good man TT.

  15. Yeah but there's a difference in making a change when you're losing 1-0 compared to 2-0 or 3-0 with a bad performance. Main problem with Lampard, IMO, this season was he didn't make or rarely made any tactical changes (and I don't mean like-for-like subs) when the game was going away from us, regardless of whether we were winning, drawing or losing. Southampton at home and Wolves away are 2 games off the top of my head.

  16. What a gift from Arsenal!!!

  17. Honestly bro, that is not true. Arsenal this season he hooked off Werner and Kovacic at H/T. This season against WBA, he took off Alonso and Kovacic at H/T and his changes paid off. Even last season against Arsenal when we won 2-1 at Emirates, he took off Emerson just before the 35th minute and brought on Jorginho because we were getting dominated and that changed the game. Also took off Tomori and put Lamptey on. The changes worked brilliantly. Yes, Tuchel is more of a tactician but let's not just paint out that Lamps was some naive manager who just did not bother to make changes, because he

  18. It feels good to have a good tactician again. The trait he has that I like the most is his pro-activeness. As soon as he sees someone heavily underperforming in the first half, he subs them in 45th minute. This is something that literally never happened under Frank.

  19. Ehhhhh, I'm sorry but I have to disagree on this here. Lampard did not do brilliantly. Yes we lost Hazard and we were not able to buy players, but you think if someone like TT was appointed last season, they'll do worse than Lampard or something? You're giving Lampard way too much credit here. Last season was completely shambolic, except we got 4th place. The stats and shocking results do not lie. Think about it, how can the worst Chelsea coach under the Roman era, did a superb job?

  20. Could you please stop bashing a club legend. Yes he really is a club legend, even if some are bitter he wanted to keep playing football after his time at Chelsea. He was not ready to manage a large club like Chelsea. I see fans at Red Cafe call Ole a PE Teacher and all I think is, you’re not really a fan. I honestly hope SFL goes out and gets more experience and at some time in the future there is SFL Chelsea manager V2.0. Lets face it, all managers in the past decade are eligible for Chelsea retirement after two years.

  21. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That is a easy way to get out of it. We were in crisis! Losing Hazard and not being able to buy players. Compare the quality of our squad now with last season and whatever the inconsistencies of other teams, Lamps did brilliant. The money being spent and the competition increasing in the league, it is no surprise to see the points tally being not as high as usual for the 4th placed team.

  22. Yes, but you are coming across as a bit of a troll. You say you are entitled to your opinion, yet when Jason warned you, you acknowledged it and now are continuing with the repeated abuse again. Why does every point you make about Tuchel have to compare to Lampard. BTW, some P.E teacher he must of been if he guided us to CL footy last season right? ...

  23. Digga D x AJ Tracey - Bringing It Back Scorching drill from two of West London's finest This AJ Tracey and Digga D collab feels long overdue. Both artists hail from Ladbroke Grove and are poster boys of UK rap's recent renaissance. In 2018, Digga D became the first rapper in the UK to be given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) prohibiting him from releasing lyrics that incite violence or recording music without police permission. "Bringing It Back" is a righteous defiance of that order. Even the video is a recreation of Digga's "Next Up? Freestyle," which was taken o

  25. Question is if he is actually suited for our current system. I don't see him as a no. 10

  26. I was wrong about him not being our best attacking midfielder, he clearly is heads and shoulders above the rest. He did exactly what I asked of him and that's being more productive in the final third! What a player he could become, if he continues to play like this.

  27. Quite confident about this. We naïvely played into their hands the first fixture. Tuchel has brought control within the team again and I can't honestly see Everton getting a sniff. Just a matter of if we convert our chances.

  28. Yes because he is Lampard's son

  29. Honestly I'm still not sold on Tuchel, just glad or rather surprised that we got all 3 points. While we surely have strengthened our defense yy concern is still our final third play. Like I said from the highlights it looked we're improving so yes it surely can bring back some confidence. One win can do loads of things & that is a fact, if u have doubts please watch Arsenal Fan TV

  34. Rare consistency for a young player. He is our best attacker by far right now. If he learns how to play vertical through balls i will do a complete 180° on him.

  35. Mount is becoming a real player under Tuchel.
    1 point
  36. But have you forgotten what the club did with Luiz and Willian? They gave the former a 2-year deal and then tried to give the latter a 2-year deal as well. If Azpi is happy to play as backup, then I don't see any harm of keeping him around. He's well settled in London, well liked/respected in the dressing room and done overall a good job as captain on and off the field.

  37. Jesus you’d think Mount played for Scunthorpe or something reading this thread. Some of you need to wake up and watch the games, not choosing what you want to see, which is Mount “not playing well” The only inconsistency in his game right now is his end product, everything else is at a more than suitable level, as is the same for most 22 year old attacking midfielders or even footballers, bar the odd exception. Beginning to wonder about some of yous...

  38. eh yeah that depends on how you look at it, but I'd definitely consider him a goal threat. And at 22, I honestly think we are way too demanding on him.

  39. How many manager's is that now he's blackmailed?
    1 point
  40. While we all love to talk about individuals, football is a team sport and you can imagine that whoever may be the manager, Mount will play. He makes the team better, and being a team sport, that's no small feat. We can certainly go into what we'd like him to do better, esp when comparing him to other players, but in fairness, we'd also need to say that that other player may not do certain things that mount does on the pitch. You always need a player like that and It does not really matter which position he starts from "on paper" his role is being that guy who makes things click.

  41. Comparing him to Grealish is different. Grealish is a wide player. His games in a central role this season he has 0 goals and 0 assists. Not his position again but gets frustrating how when everyone mentions Mason Mount, Grealish is one of the the first names used to compare him. Or Foden. These guys are used as wingers. Also as you said, they are more flair players (although would say Maddison and Grealish have both worked on their end product and being more reliable) but lets also not forget Maddison took a bit of time to look at home in the PL and is 24 now. I seen him play up at Aberd
    1 point
  42. Maybe because he isn't your typical flair player like Grealish, Maddison etc, he isnt going to stand out but in a few years time, I am sure once he becomes all round accomplished player, I would be calling for us to sign him but while he is our there in the team, I am happy with him in there.
    1 point
  43. I wouldn't say that at the moment but what people conveniently miss out when using Grealish as a stick to beat Mount with is when the former was Mason's age he was breaking the PL record for consecutive defeats and "starring" in one of the worst PL teams of all time.

  44. I remember last year Mane pulled up holding his hammy and then sat down for medical after hitting Salah on a break away. The game announcer said Mane sat down because he knew Salah was never going to pass the ball back.
