I don't think we are in desperate search for the striker. But when someone like Haaland is on the market you would be stupid not to try. Abraham, Giroud and Werner gave us 33 goals already this season. Not that bad and I imagine Werner will be much better next season. Ziyech, Pulisic and Havartz also need to step up big time.

if no Håland, it is down to only 2 realistic (and still crazy hard pulls) options who are good enough (the rest are impossible or too old for long term (Lewa and Immobile) Lautaro Martinez or DCL are it, I would go for DCL myself (I have been saying this for a year) after that, the drop off is massive (or involves impossible pulls, like Mbappe or Kane or Lukaku) IF we miss out on CL and Everton make it, DCL will not leave them for us (and uder any crstances, he will be insane expensive) so it may just default to Lautaro BUT there is one one Håland, and the other 6

Of course but my point is, not winning the head-to-head games against the top half teams is the main reason we are in the predicament that we're right now. We are not close enough to those above us and not able to pull clear of those below us. We have basically been relying on the others not beating much of the rest and are under pressure to win every game from here on in. Let's not also forget we contrived to draw 3-3 at West Brom and 3-3 with Southampton after being 2-0 up under Lampard too.

Buying so many players in one window was always gonna be a problem (all part of trying to "catch up" with the rest after the transfer ban), even more so during a pandemic season. No pre-season. Constantly playing a game every 3-4 days. Injuries. Players getting COVID-19 (one in Havertz in this case). New players struggling to adapt or needing time to settle in England. Put all those factors together and we ended up with what we have seen. Hopefully we will have a slightly more normal season next time and then we can judge the players better, although the Euros being on this summer is not helpf

I have already talked with @Magic Lampsabout that topic. Currently, I do not think he is a title winning striker, but in my opinion, he is underrated. He had his goal drought for a period of time last season, but he also played with an ankle injury for a while, which people tend to forget. If he ever manages to fix his headers, I can see him becoming a top striker, yes. I strongly doubt we will be able to pull off Haaland. Spain might have lost a bit of its appeal due to the recent slump of spanish teams but overall, city, psg and maybe even still real will have bigger sway. Either we work something out with a combination of Werner/Tammy/Havertz false nine or give broja or some other academy product a fair chance. throwing money at the problem might not be the wisest solution as seen with werner
