  1. Four games away from the end of the league and we are 4 points of last seasons total, you would think/hope we will at the very worst match it. Add to the fact this season has been a massive culture shift in the club, most of the first team didn't arrive till 1 week before the league started and we have had Europa distractions all season (added to a league cup final run has meant a brutal schedule which has lead to high match turnover basically all season). Right now i think Sarri has should get the benefit of the doubt given what I've listed above. That said there's some aspects he needs

  2. Watching the Leeds and Wigan and once again have to say, what a performance! Been watching the whole game. Relegation threatened Wigan with 10 men have beaten promotion chasing Leeds on their own patch and he has been the standout player along with Gavin Massey. Surely James will be given MOTM. Been outstanding and the commentator cannot stop running with compliments for the player. What a player we have on our books. Bossed the game

  4. Is that more of hope than anything else? You've gone from backing Sarri to wanting him out to now backing him again. Sarri has shown nothing this season to suggest that he deserves to stay on for a second season (can't be bothered to mention the reasons again). Having a full pre-season with the first team would help but really, that is just a convenient excuse. Was that getting thrown around when we had that unbeaten run up till November? How often do you see people throw around this pre-season excuse when things go wrong? Half of the pre-season is usually spent travelling around and ma

  5. Not based on last night, no. All four goals followed nice pieces of play but, overall, we are a poor team at the moment. Even at this level. Left the ground pretty depressed. Our passing is horrible. We often fail to spot the right option, and far too often fail to execute it even when we do. Our flicks and tricks kill play way more frequently than they set it up. Virtually no one has the combination of competence and confidence to receive the ball in a negative situation then do what's required to get play moving in a positive direction for the team. We beat Slavia with four good go

  7. The same Nuno who's football can't break down sides that sit back or Hasenhuttl who's never managed a top side nor won any trophy in his life? Two traits you have absolutely murdered Sarri on. You expect us to take you seriously? I pray Lampard stays well clear from managing us and ruin his legacy given how impatient our 'fans' are. Face it. There isn't a better manager out there than Sarri let alone checks off all the boxes our fans want in a manager.

  8. Also Real Madrid will move to another target and maybe in the summer window they are not after Hazard so we can convince him to sign a new contract if things are going well for Chelsea.

  9. We can win all of them. United have lost the new managers bounce. Now they are back to crap.

  10. He refused to train with the squad or alone. Classic Costa.

  11. This team have fucking relegation mentality. I've never seen a 'top side' get on the way we do. 4-1 up at half time, 4-3 full time to farmers. It's pathetic the way we crumble when under even the slightest pressure. I know we should be happy but I'm fed up with the shit we serve up here. Massive changes needed or we are destined for this cup for many seasons ahead. Clubs run by monkeys and the players are not of the standard needed here. Most of that starting 11 should be squad players at best. Pish

  12. Amazing how quick the mood changed in the stadium. Also amazed those backwards passes didn't become costly cause they happened a lot! Another game we come out dodgy after half time.. Still least we didn't lose this one! Still conceded 2 goals again after it though

  13. He honestly reminds me of Del Bosque. Talks, and talks, and talks, and talks, but hardly a motivating manager.

  14. WHAT DOES SARRI SAY AT HALF TIME???

  15. I don't believe he is good enough to justify the "circus like" baggage that comes with him. He's a pure goal poacher which is great if the team is built in this way to supply him, because he is a very good finisher. My biggest worry even more than the baggage (I think we can all excuse this if somebody is performing for the club), is just how good is Italian football at present to judge if they'll be a success in England. On top of Sarri struggling to get his style working well over here compared to in Italy, Jorginho has also struggled with the frenetic pace and power of Engli

  16. As seen few pages ago, I'm guilty. Imagine you breaking up with your girlfriend. Two months later, you still haven't found a replacement for her. You look through your photos on your phone and found a picture of her and you enjoying times. Then good memories of you and her start flooding back. Eventually thinking maybe you made a big mistake. You wish you have her back, while forgetting why you two broke up in the first place. And you can apply this analogy with Diego Costa. We still haven't found a replacement for him for years. You then go on Chelsea Facebook etc. and see the good

  17. Tends to become a repetitive pattern, the 2nd half perfomances. Against 'pool too and on other occasions, Wolves etc.

  18. I think there's folks on here trying to, play down the 2nd half performance. They were fucking awful could of quite easily fucked up completely, we had a team that thought they'd done enough, and Salvia fucking nigh on beat us. There's no excuse for coming out in the 2nd half and performing the way they did, and we've got the imbecile who's already told us he don't know how to motivate them. Then we have CHO come on and can't find a team mate....and as for Sarri's love child if I see him once more make a 2 yard pass side ways or a 40 yard backpass, I don't know what i'll do,but

  19. To me its safe to say Sarii has been a disaster on every front. Name one good thing he has done? Sure the squad is not up to par, but its still decent enough to play much better. Tactically he is horrible, I always thought Italians were astute tacticians, he definitely aint. Too freaking stubborn.....his 2 love childs gone bad. A pre-season will not rid us of all this. A badly flawed motivator, yes every team needs a motivator, you are deluding yourself if you think its not needed. For all the good managers we have sacked for much much less this clueless board decides to stick with this one...

  20. Ideally yes, but it is a good thing. Look at Maitland-Niles for Arsenal. He has featured for them at both full back positions as well as playing CM. Interesting though. I mean if he plays with top class players regularly, he will improve more so hopefully he is given a chance next season. He done an epic run earlier today. Would love for someone to post it in here.

  22. A goal and an assist today as Villa won an important game in Bolton, this was his 25th. I don't know why FA had to announce the team of the year in March, Abraham was not included and now he is 2nd in the top scorers' run. Next year first team please.

  24. Thing that was worrying that they looked like scoring so many times. That and the back passes every time! Lucky they didn't go wrong. It was amazing how the stand went from woooohey to oh shit here we go very very quickly!

  25. I get your not keen on Sarri but who is gonna replace him? And realistically speaking because we arent going to appoint Joachim Low, Didier Deschamps or whatever other fantasy international coach some people think we could going off this forum at times and we have no chance for the likes of a Pochettino, Max Allegri or even a guy like Julian Naglesmann who is going Leipzig. Laurent Blanc? Roberto Martinez? David Moyes? Eddie Howe? Javi Gracia? Nuno? Id rather Sarri got a second season that any of those. Lets be honest, changing manager is a bad idea, we changed Conte for Sarri,

  30. We have Michy and Tammy out on loan. I'd rather have them any day. He’s really a tier or two above those two imo. Not because morara is great but because those two are not really good footballers. Tammy still has time to improve, but does not look promising I must say. while I agree with @Superblue_1986 that Morata is likely going to flop again, I don’t think we have much of a choice. he’s imo a lot better than the two strikers we got. Still he does not want to be here and does not have any to do the work, so only so much we can do.

  33. What a team this is going to be... Hazard, Pogba, Jovic... Probably Telles... Maybe De Liht and still they can buy more. Or they can go for someone like Mbappe or Neymar. @Vesper what do you think?

  34. Burnley just need to park the bus in the first half. Attack us between 46-60th minute, score 3 goals and then park the bus for a 3-0 win. Easy...

  37. The game at Eintracht will be unreal. Unfortunately i can not be there as i will be in madrid that day but Frankfurt fans are crazy loud and they will push their team to the limit. The team is talented but even more mentally strong which is why i would have prefered a soft team like benfica who play nice football but are not pressing as hard. Frankfurt never give up and we have to concentrate 100% and focus on keeping the ball and letting them run. They play a bit like Wolves and we know how that ended for us.

  39. Yeah we need Jorginho. Get a bit of control in the midfield.

  40. De Ligt looks to have agreed a deal with Barca it seems. That's two future world beaters in De Ligt and De Jong. The latter going for 75 million. Proven talent. Then there's us. Spending 65 million on a Dortmund bench player with no end product and a history of muscular injuries. Never change Chelsea board. Never change.

  41. Yeah, then sack him if he can't build a dynasty in 6 months. Half of the players in Ajax have known each other for 10+ years, the team has worked long years to reach this level. Just fucking stick with a coach, even Sarri. We signed players for him, let him finish the job. Klopp, Pep, Poch all needed 2 years.

  42. It's quite funny that Sarri has done what everyone's wanted for months and it's being swept under carpet, possibly because only 1 of the 3 wanted trio actually performed today.

  43. I am by no means Sarri's biggest fan and the jury is still very much out on him for me and whether he gets next season here. However I have sympathy for him today. A few weeks ago we tried going toe to toe away at City and got royally embarrassed. He changed our tactics for the league cup final which went infinitely better and rather than being stubborn and sticking to his principles (which he has been ridiculed for at times this season) he changed the tactics to keep us in the game as long as possible. When Liverpool's biggest creative threat comes from their full backs, I can also under

  44. United screw up by appointing Solksjaer as permanent. Should have gone all for Pochetino in the summer. What we saw with United was the new manager bounce effect. We have witness that many times her at Chelsea.

  45. Yeah definitely normal at his age, but that’s the reason any manager might think twice about starting him in a tough away game for ex. on the other hand, comparisons with mbappe are a bit to much for me. As promising as odoi looks, he does not seem to be mbappe level imo.

  46. This guy is a beast, can't wait to see him in Blue. I noticed that Christensen, Loftus-Cheek and Hudson-Odoi have quite a good relationship, on bus and on plane they always sit next to each other and so on. It's understandable, they've known each other since they were children. James could join them too, another old pal of them. These relationships can be essential when building a new team. Man Utd's Class of 92 or Barcelonas great generation worked very well and I think it was a factor.
