  1. Maybe the big fish wants more room to swim ? Ever stop to think that a big reason for Sané and Sterling's form might be Guardiola's sytem ? Ofcourse it could just be a coincidence that every single attacking player under Guardiola is currently flourishing in his ultra attacking, heavily focused possession system... Let's get real though. Hazard would start in Pep's system and he'd flourish there with all the quality around him and possession he'd get.

  2. Over Sterling or Sane ... Really? Well we are all entitled to our opinions. I’m sure most players, ex players and managers think otherwise. Matter of fact, the only players in City that come close to being mentioned in the same breath as Hazard are KDB and Silva. Hazard will elevate any team in the world atm. Imagine what he does for CFC even without seeing much of the ball and playing from deep. He will be so much more devastating when receiving the ball a lot, in better positions and a lot close to goal. My opinion, unless you’re Messi, Ronaldo or maybe Neymar he certainly will take your pl

  3. He didn't do much impressive on the ball but allowances can be made. Wouldn't expect him to push up like Luiz/Christensen and be pinging balls at 17. (I think people say 'he's just 17' at anything other than praise for him too much but, as I said, I don't think anyone should expect that unless it's a once in generation talent). Defensively he was good. Literally no mistakes, second half when Swansea increased the pressure I was most impressed. Was winning balls defending from set pieces as well. Midfield performances hyped, but at CB (where he plays for youth team) I can see his potential.

  4. Really liked his goal yesterday. It wasn't cleanest of finish, but the one-two was brilliant, run was brilliant and the shot was good. Composure was there, didn't try to over-complicate things as he often does. Very good.

  6. He would comfortably be considered 2nd best player in the world (which he is now Ronaldo is finally declining) had he been playing under Pep.

  7. I only disagreed with this bit, "No one will miss Salah and Kdb if we brought top quality players instead. No one will miss Salah and Kdb if we brought top quality players instead." Because I don't really think it is possible for this club to buy that kind of talent. We only acquire real talent behind the scenes, when they are still unknowns, or at least not fully established. Keeping the likes of KDB and Salah, in my view, is really the only way to achieve that end and, like we both said, we fucked up. I'm not quite sure lack of ambition is the problem. Perhaps it is too much sh

  8. Yes, but we are fans, we are all quite clueless in the grand scheme of things, that plus we were still in the honeymoon period of having Jose back, we were always going to give him the benefit of the doubt. Jose himself and the board however should have known better.

  9. There are several parties to blame but it ultimately lies with the board IMO. He was on fire at Wolfsburg & was let go for peanuts. I do wonder if loans are just a way to show potential suitors what you can when our club are involved. Only Courtois & Christensen have been given a chance (don't want to hear the same old line, "they weren't good enough").

  10. I think people look at number too much, sterling may have scored 15 goals this season, but it is impossible to say that he is a better player than hazard if you watch them play

  11. Dont think we overrated him.. I'm still not 100% convinced that his abillity is in a CONSTANT decrease though. Maybe its just a matter of form.. or maybe he's not as good as he was two years ago but his current level is going to stay the same for the next few years.

  12. I wouldn't get bored of smacking that little rat Bellamy right in the nose.

  13. Yeah, I'm not saying he was poor or anything. Just that it was hugely obvious it was his first appearence in our defense. Guess the biggest positives you can say are that he didn't look phased or panicked at all at just 17 years old. Bit like Christensen.

  14. You know what this club is like, he will be allowed to leave and nobody brought in.

  17. As soon as he went into THAT situation after Kenedy's pass, I knew he will try to do something smart. If it was Willian, Bakayoko, Moses, Alonso or Pedro in his place I wouldn't bat an eye. Was really exciting. On the other side, I think his (long) passing regressed a bit. He often misses his targets, and don't give me that "he always tries to do something risky and unexpected so of course he misses". I think Eriksen and KDB might be actually better than him at that.

  19. I read that Mourinho left the stadium without speaking to media There are his comments for SkySports though. Blaming his players and calling Bristol lucky.

  21. ONLY thing that matters here is Barca had Villa and Alba/Abidal instead of Ibra and Maxwell. We had Willian and Oscar instead of Salah and Kdb. Thats one big difference if you ask me. No one will miss Salah and Kdb if we brought top quality players instead. But we didnt. And it definately feels sour now that we dont have those two. No one regrets selling Lukaku because we had Costa and now Morata, so we replaced him greatly. With Kdb and Salah, they turned into fantastic players. The board was stupid first to let them go and secondly incapable to bring young(er

  22. To suggest we were in the wrong to sell Salah would be similar to saying 'I can't believe Barcelona sold Ibrahimovic!', or 'Barcelona were mad to sell Maxwell!', since he became PSG's leader and pivotal player. At the time, they would've held the clubs back from consistent dominance. We'd never see Bayern/Madrid/Barcelona go in for Salah even now at his very best, anyway. For a reason.

  23. I partly agree with what you’re saying hence why I said Griezmann isn’t a racist, he’s ignorant. I have bigger problem with how people are reacting to the perception or history behind blackface as if it wasn’t used in a very derogatory way in the past and secondly, I don’t like my skin colour being used as an accessory in fancy dress. Being black isn’t something you can turn on and off. He doesn’t need to paint himself black to be depicted as a globetrotter.

  24. In my opinion Pedro is more suited to play as a false 9. His movement is exceptional, he has a good shot in him and Hazard is better when he comes from deep.

  25. You shouldn’t be just glossing over the fact that black actors weren’t hired and white actors instead painted themselves black like that’s a small, moot point. That is inherently racist in itself, and is definitely a big, legitimate reason for why it isn’t okay... surely I don’t need to point that out? Actually, Zwarte Piet is being fiercely debated in Holland, especially in recent years. A lot of people aren’t okay with it and it does spark a lot of racial debate. 26. That's the problem though. You are right he has been the best player in the last 3 matches but that just goes to show how poor everyone else has been because Eden has been operating at 70% of what he is cable of in those matches.
    1 point
  27. I honestly think Eden was pretty poor yesterday. He has picked up a bad habbit of persisting with a back heel flick every time he has his back to goal. He needs to trap the ball and hold it up or spin his man. He has the ability to do back heels but every 5 minutes and it just becomes frustrating.

  28. “Deep lying back heel merchant” come back bro. Either way, I do agree. F9 Hazard is way too isolated. He isn’t as devistating as Messi in the box and he doesn’t have the right quality around him for it to work properly imo. We looked better with Morata as the focal point.

  29. Many people did though, and we'll never know why he was dropped despite being the best player in preseason and playing extremely well in his first game against Hull in 2013. Oh, well, it doesn't really matter now.

  30. This might be unpopular opinion but our 2009/10 side is overrated. Sure, we won our first league-FA Cup double and scored tons of goals but that side had a number of shockers along the way and the goals scored record shouldn't hide the fact that we did it because of 4 games between Jan and May 2010. Mourinho's first side 12-13 years ago was far more accomplished than the 2009/10 version.

  32. You cannot judge a decision made a couple of years ago based on how things are now. That's not how it works in football. We won two Premier League titles without giving KDB or Salah a chance. It's frustrating, but that's football. Real Madrid had Samuel Eto'o in their hands. Stuff like this happens all the time.
