  1. You basing all that on pre-season or what? Personally I'm the least worried about the striker situation, more pressing concerns in the squad than that. Last season Costa and Batshuayi scored 25 league goals combined and I'm willing to bet this season Morata&Batshuayi together will score more than that. Michy will be given a bigger role than last term so Morata probably doesn't even need to match Costa's goal record to make the team score more overall.

  2. This post represents how pessimistic this forum is. I remember last season when we were 10 points from Spurs, Jason was posting everyday how he was feelings Spurs was going to win the league. Seriously, except for Matic and Costa, the players that are leaving the club are leaving because they are not playing at all. Terry, Ake, Zouma, Chalouba...they barely played last season, and would struggle to even make bench. City and United both were a disaster last season, so its obvious they are the ones who should be buying like no tomorrow. The press is saying only 17 players are available,

  3. He definitely is in the current market where Lukaku is worth 75m, Morata 70m and Pogba 80m.

  4. Although I agree with most of what you said, you have to take into consideration that we wasn't playing Champions League last season.

  5. People used to say the same thing about Chelsea 12 years ago.

  6. Teams will also use different tactics against Utd than against Everton. If Utd struggle to break down tough defences, Lukaku will struggle to score goals. He simply isn't a striker who can create out of nothing.

  7. Veratti questioned PSG's ambition and threatened to leave. They sign Neymar. Conte questioned Chelsea's ambition. We want Drinkwater.

  8. if by "surprise" you mean reach the level everyone thought he was supposed to be at (as opposed to the shit show of last season) and that his 90M pounds price tag dictates, sure, it could happen...

  9. Wouldn't call it surprising though. I mean a good (and expensive) player having a good season wouldn't be a surprise. (I do get your point though)

  11. If all goes well with Christensen we would have gained two top class player's from the loan system in 4 year's. In Courtois we basically got a £40m keeper for free and Andreas would have cost a lot to prise from Gladbach had they owned him. If we can have a ratio of gaining a first teamer from the loan system every 2 or 3 year's on average, that alone justifies the system even before we factor in the profits we make on the one's who don't make the grade and (popular to popular belief) the great way it helps the player's.

  12. chelsea seem more motivated to loan players rather than buy them.

  13. Why is PL proven being used like it's a safe bet? I mean for a start we off all supporters know it's not, and secondly it's a big step moving from Everton to Man.Utd, if he starts with a goal drought (which isn't impossible) the pressure will be huge.

  14. Seeing a lot of the same thing on Twitter. Also things like "He was an absolutely vital part of Chlesea's team last year. One of their best players." I think he'll do very well initially but his shortcoming will become apparent as the season goes on. He's a definite upgrade on Fellaini and Carrick at his age so I still think it was dumb to sell him there. He's not going to elevate their overall level like all their fans are now saying. When they play quick passing, highly mobile midfields theyll struggle.

  15. You know how ridiculous that sounds, right? Yeah PSG is getting neymar because veratti threw a fit. Absolutely

  17. Real took Ronaldo in 2009 but they already had a gentleman's agreement about the transfer a year before that, it's just Sir Alex got him to stay for another year in order to not leave the club in too much trouble. United had no problem selling in June of 2009 because they'd been preparing for his departure all year long, it's not like the move was a huge surprise to them. Around the Beckham and Figo transfers I wasn't following the transfer market that closely so hard to say how long those deals were in the making. Beckham's relationship with with Sir Alex was not good and in that club no

  18. You guys are crazy. Real took Ronaldo and Beckham from United, Figo from Barcelona and now PSG took Neymar from Barcelona. Its obvious that if Barcelona pay the right price Hazard will end up as Barcelona player. With money from PSG Barcelona can basically grab any player in the world. I really expect some crazy moves in that market until the deadline day.

  19. Neymar was desperate to leave, kicking up a fuss, and physically fighting with teammates. Plus he's got a greedy agent/family guiding him. Hazard is too classy and mature to pull shit like that. Barca can probably go out and replace Neymar this close to the season. No way we'd be able to sign an adequate Hazard replacement at this point. If Hazard does eventually go we'll have to have it planned out in advance and a replacement in hand ahead of time.

  20. Im surprised Barcelona is not linked with a move to Hazard. He would be the natural choice to replace Neymar instead of Coutinho.

  21. He is not 222 million euros worth of good. Half of that at best, and even then overpriced.

  22. I'm far from a Neymar fan, but he is really THAT GOOD. Saying Neymar is not that good is like the talk about Messi only being good because of Xavi and Iniesta that I used to read in this forum years ago.

  25. Everton’s £50m move for Sigurdsson may be completed ‘within days’ https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/aug/02/everton-gylfi-sigurdsson-swansea-midfielder-callum-connolly-paul-clement This is getting absurd. Say what you want about the board but this market is crazy and they been doing good. We just need to put more trust in youth.

  27. I`m glad we signed him but I don`t like the fact we are relying so heavily on him getting then staying healthy/uninjured and adjusting to the new to him league and performing at a high level week in week out. is like we playing less games this season not much more.

  28. True say. I personally have little confidence in Morata. I am starting to think Lukaku was the right man for us. He is going to be a beast at United. Give Bats a chance though. I think he has huge potential.. he needs that all important game time.

  29. That was last season. The squad wont be able to deal with four competitions, and Antonio is smart enough to let go at least two if he starts the season with this squad. We were lucky to play three competitions with 13 essential players with barely no injuries, and we were lucky to find a manager who came with some great ideas. Call it luck or good medical departments, some constants from last season may actually change this time, we've seen it all before. Now, we are facing a serious task, continuity, and thats where everyone is pessimistic. We replaced Matic & Costa, added a defender

  30. yup, shamelessly resurrecting this thread... this guy has obvious and really serious injury issues, so even if at some point he actually fulfills his potential, one cannot criticise Chelsea for letting him go.

  31. Thing is,especially these current Korean Girl groups, that they are all from the assembly line. I cant tell these girls from any other one being promoted on MBC. I can see what BlackPink are going for, but maybe I am finally getting to an age where these type of girls aren't doing it for me. None have the charisma of early 00's korean Stars like Unee(may she rest in peace) or BoA.

  35. I think it only really offends people outside the club...ala the journos and rival club fans, who just think we're cheating the system, when actually just exploiting it. Inside, they probably wish their clubs did the same

  36. Echo's my thought's. Most Of the time i can understand a POV even if i disagree, but one thing i just don't understand is why the loan system offends people so much.

  38. Has nothing to with leading roles.... there's a little thing called squad depth. Can't just have 11 players and that's it, the sarcastic comments don't cover up the fact are squad is massively lacking depth compared to last season when we had no CL football.

  39. Young players with huge potential like Musonda, need to be around other top class players imo. I think loaning them out to mid/low table sides in other leagues is a recipe for disaster. I don't know of any young player of 18/19/20 who played for a poor side and developed into a world class player at that club. Even Messi would struggle on loan to a poor side who can't take advantage of a player like Messi's ability.

  40. It honestly can't. Although I'd take Ox, i agree, that only Chelsea are allergic to having big names on the bench. But Bayern, City, and Madrid have no problem placing 6 or 7 Starting XI calibure players on the bench.

  41. That has been said every season for as long as i can remember. There's no luck in having a fantastic medical department.

  42. Just listening Despacito (the original ver.) couple of days ago, and can't stop listening until now. Help me, lol. For K-pop fans, it has been almost a year since their debut, try listening to BLACKPINK songs (in case you missed it). Your first impression will be like, 'I don't like it, what a weird song'. But then after some time you will want to listen again and finally get addicted, lol.
