  2. Man City to beat Sp*rs in their next game would be good, just to keep the chasing pack in their place....

  4. It takes something absurd and crazy to not get at least 2nd place with Man City. Whether everyone admits it or not, they have the best forwards, the best midfielders, and the 'apparent' best coach. The type of coach City need is a more level-headed and humble leader, like Ancelotti. You still get pretty football, but no mad-tactics just because the press have been writing about you.

  5. Dont forget that he is the best possible striker we could have right now. Well, maybe Suarez is even better, but he for sure aint coming. Auba, Lukaku, Belotti, etc are all several levels below Costa. I hope there was nothing serious and we manage to keep Diego here.

  6. I wouldn't want Lukaku here even if he came for free. He can't deal with playing in a big team because he doesn't have the football for it. Poacher on his best days, he gets to show some average technique every blue moon, but when a team faces him with a defensive approach or even an organized defense, he's harmless, useless and invisible. Now for mid-table teams such as Everton, struggling as usual, he's a perfect match. Most teams don't put a lot of defensive thought when playing Everton, and that's when the opportunity rises for Lukaku to shine. I have never rated him, and his fans criticiz

  7. Funny thing is before the Spurs game we were six points clear of second place, now it's seven. Long way to go and all of that but when we lost there was an awful lot shit written.

  9. Isn;t it sad to watch Everton beating Shitty! Just need Lolpool and Mounure to scoreless draw and kick 10 tons of shit out of each other!

  10. I suppose it's possible that this bloke, who ever he is, knows something. On the other hand, it seems more likely that this is just a ridiculous extrapolation from Antonio!s post match press conference. In that conference he said, a number of times, that the players are training again on Tuesday so we'll see. Taken in context, that simply meant Tuesday would be his earliest opportunity to see how Diego's "injury" is progressing.

  11. WTF???? You are crazy man. Conte changed Costa attitude which is miracle. Diego is this season except that one moment when he wanted to be substituted, very calm, they have a good relationship together. You know shit what happened and you are questionining Conte abillity to manage his players?? LOL.

  12. So do i when i look at it from a paranoid fan POV, but i try to flip it and imagine us 7 points behind a team managed by Conte and thed be no way i could think of a way back. If City beat Spurs and we get a result at Anfield we have half a hand on it even this early in my opinion. We have got it good as far as that is concerned, it looks like its going to be a four way battle to avoid the drop, we have all four of them at home and three of them before April.

  13. Exactly. Media making a huge deal we broke our streak but losing to Spurs away from home is totally normal, even for us with title aspirations. As long as we continue to capitalize on those "smaller" games, we dont need to win at all cost against the likes of Liverpool, City, etc. This is how Ferguson won a bunch even without the best team.

  14. The most hyped battle for the title in the history of football between the Manchester clubs before the season has now turned into the battle for a Champions League spot next season haha. Fuck the hopeless British media, fuck Mourinho, fuck United and Paul Pogba And the bitter mancs who thought they are back in the title race.

  20. We've definitely dodged a bullet with both Pep and Stones. Speaking of the latter, does this guy ever have a solid performance without any individuals mistakes, leading to goals?

  21. We have to win the league from here, we are on course beat our 2005 points record. Ofcourse im not expecting that to happen im just emphasising what a good position we are in. The only way it can sort of be passed off as anything other than bottling is if we get to late 80s and City, Liverpool or Spurs have a mad run now and get more. As for the coming fixtures in my opinion we should be looking at winning all bar Anfield right uptill the City game, won't be easy but with Antonios league mentality its certainly doable.

  22. The stats before the latest league win showed Alonso had covered the highest distance per 90 minutes of any Blues player to have played 500 minutes or more this season, at an average of 7.9 miles a match.http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2017/01/alonso-in-on-the-act.html

  23. The very simple thing that Kante does, that really lifts the entire team, is that he keeps things ticking. When there is a loose ball in the oppositions half, he's the one that's usually on it quick as lightning, when others are more inclined to just dropping back. Its a big boost to our forward players, who only have to think about spending time and energy in setting up the next attack...instead of dropping deep to build up play all the way from the back.

  26. Costa was not in the squad following reports of an argument with the Chelsea coaching staff over back pains the striker reported on Tuesday. But Alonso, who scored Chelsea's first two goals in Costa's absence, said all was well in the Chelsea camp. "You guys made up the story," Alonso told the BBC after the game. "Diego wasn't feeling well because of his back. He's very happy and will have a great enough season at Chelsea.

  28. Carroll just scored a wonder goal, and no one is talking about that. If that was from Ibra for United, that would make top stories for every paper, and with those silly graphics explaining how the goal was scored.

  29. fernando llorente is the solution: he is not a pure striker, but hazard and pedro with him will strike the double.. diego if you don't believe in the project leave right now, this squad will remain first even without you..

  30. I actually think he is pretty poor at shooting. Obviously scored two goals and had nice volley yesterday, but he's been very poor at shooting this season.

  31. Honestly, I find it pretty unfair for EPL to only have 4 spots for Champions League. Having 2 of City, United, Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea out of European football while seeing some of the trash teams that get in is ridiculoua. Should easily be 5, even if it only keeps 3 as direct locks for the group stage.

  32. Conte is Italian and maybe a hot fuse (very likely). Diego is the father of all hot fuses. They had an argument, said things in the heat of the moment. They have been bromancing for weeks now. It's just the media trying to make a storm out of a teacup - even if Conte had said what they claim he did. There is a lot of pressure in top professional football, I think those rows are so minor and common. It's such a nonstory imo. It doesn't mean Diego won't end up in China eventually (I believe he won't), it doesn't mean it won't involve an apology, it doesn't mean it won't feel a bit awkw

  34. If we still have a 5+ lead after the Arsenal game I'll start to believe. Because after Arsenal we have a run of 6 very winnable games: Burnley, Swansea, West Ham, Watford, Stoke and Crystal Palace.

  37. I know right, I just found out about this on Monday. So sickening to know you have a murderer playing for your team. That fine he recieved was less than a week's wages too! Apparently that's just how the law in Spain works. If you don't have any criminal background, then like your first offense (to certain degree) can be paid off. Wonder the pain that young woman's family must go through.

  38. You are right there are better options out there and we should ponder those too including our very own Kennedy and Baba who are both prolly better suited for that role. However yesterday was a flawless performance. We needed a hero to bail us out, he did so kudos. Let him have his moment

  39. Conte: "On Tues during training Diego felt a pain in his back. From that moment he didn't train. For this reason he wasn't available." Conte, asked again about the Costa situation, says 'this is the truth' about his previous answer. Says he knows nothing of Chinese interest. Conte is asked if Costa will train next Tuesday: "It is important to understand his physical condition." Conte is asked if Costa will face Hull if he is fit: "I prefer not to reply, when the question starts with 'if'." Conte, pushed one final time on whether Costa will play for Chelsea again

  40. I'd be happy if someone could find records of any other team in the Premier League, Italy, or Spain having 12 clean sheets out of 15 or so games. I haven't heard of such streaks personally. Not from Barcelona, Bayern, United, etc. The only 2 teams that I imagine could've achieved this in modern times is City/Juve, but, I see nothing online.

  42. He always has been a horrible passer but yesterday he could not complete the most basic ones. Dembele and wanyama completely outmuscled him and matic. I know we all love him here but short term he needs a rest and long term a replacement with better technique ( same for matic)
