  5. How do you know he didn't do that? Word was they initially considered sacking Mourinho after the Saints game, but his track record gave him the extra 3 months to sort it out, he was given multiple chances to turn the rubbish around and didn't, one point of relegation at Christmas with only one player on form is a sackable offense whoever you are, even Fergie would have been sweating for his job under those circumstances. I am fully in the belief that this Roman itchy trigger things is overstated, if anything it shows his weak spot for appointing the right man, which I think/hope is differ

  6. You should spend some time and look down Tancredi's time line... Its comedic gold the amount of things he claims to be in the know of and ends up with egg on his face. He is the worst blogger out there(I refuse to call him a journalist)

  11. What I like about Contes interview was his insisting that Cescys red doesn't stop them from going in hard. The Italian wants viewers to turn on the TV and recognise his team from their style and identity without noticing the individual players, the colour of the kit or the badge on their chests. 'I like my team to play with great aggression and high intensity,' said Conte. 'I like to see that. 'We train to prepare for that because I want that my team has an identity. 'I want that if you see Chelsea you recognize: Oh, Chelsea are playing. That is important for me, it is impo

  12. Late july. So it seems we are entering another season with Azpilicueta, Ivanovic, Cahill and Terry. Great.

  13. I always say how the team spirit is the most important aspect of this sport and how one single player can't win you anything. However, I have no problem in stating that DD together with Petr won us the CL on their own. And Mikel.

  20. If Costa isn't a world class striker, don't know what one is. He probably isn't a world class player because he does lack a few things, but complete players are hard to find and as a striker he's a game changer, a guy that has full merits in most of those goals. His movement is top notch and definitely one of the most important things for a striker, if not the most alongside execution. He's not plastic or technical and he should head better than he does, but lacking those things and still scoring as much as he does, with rare tap-ins, should prove his worth not detract from his quality

  21. Best performance today in a long time. Sat deep on that bench chair and did not move. Hopefully he can keep this up..

  22. People will somehow always mention other players yet Drogba has always been our true Leader ; the real driving force behind this team.

  23. I wish I realised how great he was before he left. I only know now he's my favourite striker of all time. He has it all. No other striker has had it 'all' like Drogba. He can do everything from playing as centre back, to touching the ball soft like Zola, to hammering in screamers from 40 yards & to launching bullet-headers that go through the net. Nobody else.

  24. I know there's a lack of top 'traditional' strikers everywhere, but you just can't call a player world class when half our academy has better technique than him - and I'm being generous there. Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate Diego. I think his movement is among the best I've seen from a striker, his instincts are good and on form his finishing is exceptional. But, in addition to his lack of technique, he's weak in the air, his ball retention is almost nonexistent and his decision making can often be well below the level of the team; he chooses to dribble so many times, especially

  25. Nothing. He isn't going to Everton. He isn't stupid. If we were against José and ManUtd it would have been much harder.

  26. This is beyond stupid. He's at the very least at the same level as our other CBs, only considerably younger. Pay the penalty in the loan contract, bring him back, put him straight in the team. This is like when we refused to give Bertrand a chance when we had no one else at LB and and have been stuck since then with Azpi on the left and Iva on the right while Bertrand makes it into the EPL team of the year. Except this time Christensen has A LOT more potential and we'll probably end up with Mikel being moved permanently to CB!

  28. I dont mind mate. Theres been reasons to sack or keep all of them but if we dont start giving 1 a good chance, put full faith in him and back him to the hilt then its going to be an ever revolving managers door. I understand that in this day and age theres not many managers (or players) that stay with one club like Fergi/Vinegar tits/JT but wouldn't it be good to get one to stay 3 years?

  36. Mustafi should be an option for us if this mess continues to go on any longer. He really is just as good, and quite a bit cheaper. I know a lot of you would be happy with Mustafi too considering it would be stepping on the toes of Arsenal and blocking a potential deal for them. I'd be happy with either of the two, but like most on here, I just want one of the better rated prospects at CB. We can't hope to do well this season without at least one major defensive signing.

  38. I am not "jumping the gun" and I still believe in the right moves. I am only afraid that our transfer goals are a bit different than other teams with worse last season. We do not focusing (at least what we are hearing from rumors) on so called "big names" this summer (except Kante). Of course it can be right move. When I see Juventus signing Higuain for €90 mln or even ManU signing Pogba for €120 mln it's probably not business wisely. And we still need to wait for next season to judge if these two signings have been excellent but I hope so And you are right about Arsenal

  39. That'll only serve to piss De Laurentiis off more and raise the price even higher. Seems to me that when you try to negotiate with Napoli you have to keep things calm and quiet. Otherwise the owner gets angry and shuts everything down.

  40. No they didn't juve activated his buy out clause so napoli had no say in it
    1 point
  41. Yep. He's basically saying that he wants to have a brilliant season and then he'll be off to Real Madrid or Barca. If he had left after that shocking season everyone would hate him. If he "goes out on top" after a great season I guess he feels everyone will understand.

  42. This is an emotional gush-fest, i just watched his header vs. Munich again. Better ability in the air, higher work rate, more strength, more accurate & powerful long-shots & better leadership qualities than all the following players who truly seem to be deemed better than him - Henry, C. Ronaldo, M. van Basten, Eto'o, Suarez, Batistuta, Inzaghi, Bergkamp, Ibrahimovic, Shearer, Del Piero, Baggio, Messi, Maradona, Pele, Romario, Raul, Cantona. None of them exceeded beyond Drogba's talents in any of those categories. Imagine any of those players being your captain too. The team
