  1. I'm not convinced Poch would be the right man, he's doing great this season but so did Brendan two years ago. His youth integration would make him appealing but tactically I'm not sold on him tbh, he seems another manager with a great plan A but no plan B, even this season Spurs have looked clueless vs teams that sit deep. He's certainly not worth getting into war with Levy when Conte (who has form recovering teams in a bit of shit) is openly available, put it that way.

  3. Ladies and gentlemen, this is what we call natural ability. The improvement in his two latest games compared to the 2/3 games before is already clear to see. Thought he was qutie underwhelming in his first few games, judging him as first team footballer and ignoring his young age. But he's already stepped up a few levels in a matter of weeks. You can't teach that. It's a special talent residing inside the boy. My only fear was his ability to cope with the physical demands of first team football but he's playing 90 min every week and doesn't look jaded at all. Neither is he getting bullied

  6. Or the fact that is where the opportunity goes. We have counties down here where the white schools will get new science/ buildings, while the prominently black and hispanic schools will get new football(American) fields. Then people wonder why people come into college behind kids who have been doing calculus for years when kids from certain high schools are lucky if they can get teachers to teach them trig or pre cal. Its a messed up education system.

  7. Couldn't agree more on all of that, Brilliantly put, my friend. I would like to add though, that I think I have heard/read most of what Trump has said and I believe that he actually means what he's saying as much as Hillary saying that she opposes the TTP or cares for the rights of minorities. I can't help but feel that elections in the US are like a game show. "Super-Tuesday", "Super Delegates", "Winner-Takes-All States", caucuses, and dice throwing to determine winners! I mean it's just entertainment, I feel... Frankly, what I care most about from the US presidential race is

  8. I remember Pacquiao HAD the balls to argue Isco is a far worse choice than Oscar. I remember tons of arguments with Gilvorak about how Oscar actually is a key player. I remember Gilvorak's quote, saying Oscar was our BEST player in the first part of last season. I knew it last season, but gave him the benefit ot the doubt. If you seriously, in some weird, alternative reality, see any quality in Oscar at the number 10 spot, you should consider retiring from football in general. A number 10 that lacks the vision, simple passes, fuck me, I don't even remember him managing a proper

  10. Missed his game earlier but heard he did alright. Don't want to get too excited but what he's doing is very impressive considering he hadn't played a single minute of senior football before last month.

  14. As I've posted previously, the two best performances I saw Charly put in for us were both in the Modric role. Thing is those two games were the only occasions he played there and they were18 months apart so no one at the club seems to have any interest in seeing Charly used in that way. I don't know if you would call that a DM position however.

  15. C'mon Tomo. Courtois wasn't exactly error-free either when he had Azpi-Terry-Cahill/Zouma-Ivanovic in front of him.

  16. Maybe. Maybe not. If we are going to concede, then at least make the opposition work for the goal. But if we're just going to let in some really cheap goals, then we might as well not bothered playing a goalkeeper at all. Some of the goals that Courtois has let in of late have been really poor - slow to come out of his line, getting beaten at his near post, flapping at crosses (used to be his strength!).

  17. And if he got sold his thread would end up in a 300 page meltdown about how Jose is a short-sighted egotist, how the boards clueless and how the club will never gamble in youth amoung many other things every time he kept a clean sheet

  19. For sure not the best period in his career right now but people are going overboard, it's not like he's done a Torres style decline, he will evevitably hit top form again soon and I said exactly the same with Costa when all in sundry wanted him dropped for Remy.

  20. That was a massive mistake from him no matter how you dress it up. Yes, he made great saves today but if you are going to push the ball that you should be holding into the path of the opposition then the good saves mean fuck all. Guus has rotated, he's talk of rotating and without hiding, this is one area he should of rotated in because Tibo of late has not been good enough.

  21. Begovic has been superior to him this season, absolutely no doubt about it in my eyes. And Begovic played when we were absolutely hopeless and looked like conceding every time the opposition came forward. Begovic has played less games yet kept more clean sheets and has a "better" concession rate. Statistics don't tell you everything but you can count on one hand the amount of costly errors Begovic has committed this season - the same does not apply for Courtois, who is taking his place for granted, simple as. VERY shaky. Today's error was as bad as that "save" in stoppage time at Norwich wher

  30. That's a possibility but I doubt he will do it, we shall see. But now how things stand I can say that I'm confident this will go to convention and at convention Ted Cruz will get the nomination. Ted Cruz to be the Republican nominee for me (which I wanted because he is Christian...now doesn't mean he might be a true Christian as there's many phony out there but still I would vote for him as it can't be any worse then Bush and Obama...). Now weather Ted can beat Hillary at the general elections is a whole another thing. That would be much harder but we shall see.

  33. My biggest gripe with the coverage of football is pundits and commentators who don't do their homework. They have such a fun job, just put a little bit of effort in lads. Shortly after kick-off in today's game the co-commentator was having a moan up about Betis, listing a couple of players who might help them but saying that apart from those two Betis had no creativity in their side. The two names did not include Charly which shows that he can't even have watched Betisi's last game and that is surely the least he should do. Anyway, by the 35th minute he was able to say, "If Betis can get the b

  34. Our problem is midfield imo. We can't control the tempo of a game even against much weaker teams. This makes the job of our defenders and goalkeepers more difficult. When I look at better performing teams the main difference I notice is how their midfield takes control of the games. Once they lose that control their highly praised defenders also start making mistakes.

We've done great in the [UEFA] Youth League and we won it last year, so the quality is there within the academy. "There's been a lot of investment in the academy so not only do the players want to come through, the owner wants to see it as well. We're slowly starting to see that." http://www.espnfc.us/chelsea/story/2823182/john-terry--chelsea-youngsters-shining-under-guus-hiddink What a guy.

  36. He used to be my favorite player, but to be honest I'm starting to go back to my old opinion: replacing Cech for Courtois was a mistake and hard to explain. Cech was 32 years old when we got Courtois back, he is not old for a GK and he easily have at least more 5 years at top level. He wasn't as solid as before, but still one of the best in the world. We weren't watching every Atletico's games with Courtois, then we had YouTube, UCL crucial games and big games against Barcelona and Atlético. At this point I'm convinced he is not as solid as we thought. He can make some impossible saves, but

  38. We don't necessarily need to buy another player/superstar in the AM strata, we seem to be pretty stacked there, especially if Hazard stays and regains form. I'd be happy with any combination of Hazard, Willian, Pedro, Kenedy, Oscar, Musonda or Traore/Boga next season tbh. If we wanted to improve there I'd simply sell Oscar and upgrade on him.

  39. Fair point, but this is a quote from January: "Asked on Friday if he would still rule himself out of taking the Chelsea job on a permanent basis, Hiddink replied: "Yes."" (ESPN) So basically he said that he rules himself out. Not literally that he doesn't want the job, but it's basically the same thing. Also, he said other things from which I can only understand that he can't see himself being here on a permanent basis. Yet, he was very classy in all of his statements. For example: "On the other hand, young people must take over and I must retreat a bit. I will visit Chelsea o

  44. Guus said this in 2009 but I have never once heard him say so this time around. Guus has said he is leaving but he has not said why. This is not to say that Guss does want the job but I do know he clearly did have more than half an eye on it when he returned. As far as the public knew that remained the case until about six weeks ago when he started to make it clear he'd be leaving the hot seat at the end of the season. It may be that the club, now obsessed with the long term boss idea, have made it clear that they want a younger man, it could be that Guus finds the alternative job he's be

  45. Yeah but Mourinho never gave a chance. This is why I never wanted Mourinho at the beginning. I'm glad that he was sack and now we don't have to plea for him to comeback. Or have his shadow with us always wondering what if? Well now we know and he is gone. Now we can move forward and create our own identity away from the shadow of Mourinho.

  46. Costa offers more than goals, a be it not to the same extent as Drogba, his off the ball movement allows for so many chances to be created, even in the first half of last season when he was on bad form, we were creating a lot more chances with him playing than with not, Leti had to adjust without Costa, last season they didn't create even half the chances they did the season before with him. Also it's easy to forget now as he left twice via the party bus but Drogba had many games in every season after Jose left bar 09-10 where he couldn't really be bothered in that particular game (Wigan

  47. I realy like what Lahm said recently about clubs and players. He said something along the lines that all great clubs need core of homegrown players who grew within the club and present the meaning of club on and off the pitch. These players are the simbols of club and their success. They identify themselfs with the club. When they play they play not only to win for themselves but also for the club. Do we have any such players after Terry leaves? You cant just buy such player and he will suddenly become Chelsea through and through. There is no surprise teams like Barca, Bayern dominate eu

  48. What!? You actually believe none of those players fit within the philosophy at Barcelona? They fit like a glove, it's uncanny how perfect those players are for that team, they haven't been shoved into any team. If you think they Barcelona bought Suarez and Neymar because of their fame, then you are dead wrong. Barcelona signed two superstars that are absolutely perfect for their team, which is completely different from say a club like Real Madrid that signs players purely on the waves they make on the media.
