  1. On 30 August 2014, Rémy was left out of QPR's match against Sunderland after it was reported that Chelsea had activated his £10.5 million release clause. Although he wanted to play, manager Harry Redknapp thought that he would not be at his best due to the pending transfer. The next day, he signed a four-year contract, saying "I feel very happy and very proud. When I heard Chelsea wanted to sign me I said "let's go" straight away because they are one of the best clubs in the world" Click here to view the record

  4. I still have to pinch myself that we have overhauled a stagnant past it squad to what we have now in 2 years with relitevely healthy net spend. The importance of the victory in Munich runs a lot deeper than "mearly" winning the trophy, we managed to skip years of painful transition.

  5. Why are people moaning? He's: CheapExperienced in the PL - 14 goals in 26 games with a shit Newcastle team is an excellent recordClearly ambitious, hence why he joined usWilling to fight for his place (otherwise he'd have joined Arsenal where he'd be automatic first choice)An excellent squad playerAt his absolute peak in terms of form and physical fitnessAble to perform as a CF or LW/RW in a 4-2-3-1£10m cheaper than any other valid option, i.e. Destro, who also isn't proven in this leagueNot shit like TorresWhy the fuck are people moaning?

  6. After the goal, Fabregas actually turns and celebrates with the Chelsea fans who are seated in the stand the cameras are situated in. Then he picks the ball up and actually pulls Costa away from the melee to calm him down, which is exactly what he needed. Think some people are making mountains out of molehills. I remember some people saying another player who spent 8 years at Arsenal before joining us in his mid-20s would never be 'proper Chelsea'.

  8. I think now that Suarez is gone the media is desperately looking for a new 'enemy number one' of the PL and because of Costa's temperament they are blatantly forcing it to be him. He started nothing yesterday and he only gave it back as much as he was given, yet he was painted as the villain. As you said, it is so pathetic when the commentators, opposition managers and even the referees get caught up in the narrative that is being forced on Costa. It's "Costa should calm down" instead of "Coleman should stop acting like a bellend" and Coleman as the victim etc. Pathetic pretty much sums it up,

  10. You cannot hail the board enough for their achievements in the transfer market as of late. Replaces Torres with Remy. Matic, Fabregas, Costa, Luis. Azpi, Hazard, Oscar. We've got a sexy looking squad at the moment. Long may it continue!

  11. I know this has been already said like hundred times but what an incredible summer this has been, from so many points of view. Stunning job by everybody in the board and club. We are already top of the league, 3 points clear off City, scoring 6 at the Goodison and the team has not been together for many months yet. Just imagine the months of joy that lie ahead. Thank you Chels. With Remy in the club, we do not have to worry so much if something happens to Diego. Such a huge, huge upgrade to Torres, or to what we had last season.

  20. Ramires is such a strange guy. He's a poor shooter, a decent overall finisher but he's absolutely brilliant in 1 on 1 situations. His mind becomes crystal clear when it's just him and the GK. That ball was always going in, very good goal.

  21. I feel that the strikers Mourinho has signed since coming here, have all been personality signings. Eto'o, Diego and Drogba ooze of strong personality (too early to say anything about Remy). With those three signings, Jose reinstated some much needed balls back to our striking force. Eto'o was literally a stop-gap till we were waiting for the real deal, but even he brought some much needed courage and quality back to our attack until we waited. Losing this mental edge in games was one of my biggest worries pre-Jose. He knows what he's doing.

  23. I don't know if it's been mentioned already but I've just seen the incident again and it's pretty clear to me what happened. Costa picks up the ball, goads Coleman and then throws the ball away. Cesc doesn't see this but sees Howard running out. I believe Fabregas thought Howard went to get the ball from Costa to restart the game quickly, that's why he turned around to give Howard the ball. In fact he was trying to defuse any potential situation. But by the times he's picked the ball up and turned around he sees all the drama. Fabregas wasn't scared, he just didn't have a clue what was going

  24. Everything I don't like about his game was on display yesterday. Bad touches, weak holdup play, bad/average movement etc. I can't believe the club got 28m. Eto'o looked so much better it was unreal let alone Costa!

  26. 6 today, 3 at Burnley (should've been 4 with the Costa penalty), and we would've scored at least a couple more against Leicester had it not been for Schmeichel and the post. There have been times to criticise our conservatism but this season so far hasn't been one. Honestly, I'm not even going to complain about some of the below par defending today - I've wanted us to score more goals and if that compromises some of our solidity, so be it. Last season City and Liverpool scored ~100 in the league while we were stranded in the 70s, and that's just sad.

  27. Coleman needled him and got him booked, so Costa gave it back in the best way possible. Opposition players will wing him up, opposition fans will hate him but I already fucking love the guy. He is an absolute Mourinho-player. Cunt, but our cunt.

  29. I said that adding a quality striker can completely change the way a team plays. He just helps every single player out, not just with his goals but at one point he put a world-class slide tackle in at left-back. 4 goals in 3 games, our most important player.

  30. Some deluded arsenal fans say wenger has dodged a bullet here and Chelsea is stuck with Remy for the next 4 years. Haha like he did with Cesc. What a pathetic lot they are, hopefully they'll end up with giroud and yaya sanogoals come tuesday. I honestly feel sorry for Alexis, such an insult a player of his calibre ends up playing for those mugs

  36. well, I hope we can time well his yellow accumulation suspension, so he won't miss any capital match, but it seems like he'll be getting a few of them. Someone enlightened me the other day about the rules, but I already forgot, 5 yellows = 1 game (this one I remember well) and 10 yellows = ? I can see him being suspended at least once, but maybe twice if the referees continue to being cunts about it. It's a relief to have someone else to replace him other than Torres and I think our whole approach changed, so it also helps other goal scorers. But it's not only his goals we'd miss in a match. H

Well done to the Chelsea board and welcome to Chelsea Loic!! Also, kudos to whoever it was who said in the previous Remy thread that it would be awsome we announced it during the Arsenal game

  40. While I do think Costa needs to calm down a little bit and that these little squabbles are petty, it happens on the pitch like almost in every game like Craig Burley said. It's nothing but because it's Costa, the media (and even the opposition manager in this case) are too keen to paint him as the bad boy and trying to create an issue out of nothing. Danny Murphy said on MOTD last night that Costa was just bantering and giving Coleman a taste of his own medicine and that there was nothing wrong with it. It's rather pathetic that Martinez and Everton can dish out the ugly treatment but can't ta

  41. You are making a mountain out of a molehill. You're making a fuss over nothing because Cesc didn't immediately defend his teammate who taunted and insulted another player. Cesc did pull Costa away, which was the right thing to do. If you want to blame someone for the incident, blame Costa for being a dick and getting a silly yellow.

  42. I think it's pretty clear why he didn't join immediately: being actually next to Costa, he heard what he said to Coleman and felt uncomfortable because of that. At least he looked pretty uncomfortable to me. Other guys who ran to Costa's defence probably hadn't even heard what Costa said. Whatever you say, Costa was a cunt there. If you think there's nothing wrong with mocking and taunting someone, well... Diego is the one who should be blamed for that incident. Cesc isn't exactly an angel himself, so to make him uncomfortable Costa must have been a total arsehole there. Anyway, you're reall

  45. Didn't think having a striker would be this good, wow. This guy barely speaks English, is new to the league and country but he already seems to get the club. We say carefree for a reason, no one fucking likes us and Diego seems to love that. He doesn't give a shit who gets in his way as long as its Chelsea and their fans who go home singing sweet victory.

  46. Guys we've done it, we've officially had the most successful transfer window not only in Chelsea's history but in the world of football. Called out for a Striker--Costa--32 mil. Called out for a CM--Cesc--26mill. Called out for LB--Luis--16mill. Lastly we begged for a 2nd ST--(seems like its done) Remy--8 mill. And we've been counting down the days till Torres would fuck off, and it has finally come and 2 years sooner at that, how beautiful! There was no fuckin about, no dilly-dallying, no negotiation drama that carried for months on end, and most important we signed the players we needed....i
