  1. You sound upset. Oscar had an OK first half but was a total non-factor for the rest of the game. He can only get by on defensive work-rate for so long, he has to start doing more. And soon.

  2. Mano system got the best out of Oscar, he was everything Mano looked for in a number 10. Ability to press to press high, drop deep and distribute, and work his magic in the final third. Once Oscar emerged, Mano Brazil looked so much better. Unfortunate he got sacked imo. Unfortunately for Oscar your manager Scolari and your nation cares more about getting the best out of Neymar. This is Neymar team, and he is a bigger talent and unfortunate it comes at Oscar's expense.

  4. Hopefully we'll continue our 'high pressing' next season, we scrapped it during the mid point of the season and instead sat back and tried to counter. Mourinho did say a few weeks back that we're going to play better football, so i'd expect it to return. The game at home against Liverpool was the best example, in the first half especially we were unbelievable i thought.

  5. Thing is most attacking players look better than they actually are when given free roles. It's not going to happen at Chelsea under Mourinho though. Not even Hazard has a free role.

  6. Speaking for Brazil NT only, I think we played better when Oscar was on the free role instead of Neymar. Neymar is just too selfish and attacking oriented whereas Oscar does it all.

  7. I think he needs a free role to excel. In his best games I remember seeing him everywhere, sometimes he would be upfront finishing, sometimes he would drop deep to distribute, sometimes he would be marking and doing defensive work, sometimes he would be making a run between defenders, sometimes he would be wide trying a cross. It seemed like he always knew where the team needed him, I would praise his tactical awareness more than anything else he had. Right now he seems to be too focused on defending and going down the wings. It's so weird.

  8. It's like watching a totally different player at times. A much slower, weaker and technically inept one.

  9. Its so unbelievable to see everyone would sell Oscar to buy James... "Oh Oscar only made great pass and cross that should end with goal but the rest he was shit"..."oh James is soo fantastic oh my"...but then again football isnt just about attacking. Oscar does the job that people dont see and no other #10 can do in the world. Cesc will add creativity but Oscar will do rest. Finaly, everyone is so smart and tries to explain Oscar isnt typical #10, but in next sentence they blast him that he doesnt offer enough in attack. Ffs he is working his ass im defence and thats why he isnt as much in a

  10. He is played out of position. Scolari's decisions this tournament have been a mindfuck. They are going to get walloped by the first good team they come across.

  12. It's this simple - Shaw, Lukaku or any other self-professed Chelsea 'fan' out there doesn't owe Chelsea or it's support anything, just like Chelsea doesn't owe those players anything. It's a business for the club and a business for the players and in both cases, nothing is ever permanent. The club's only consideration in terms of playing personnel is their fit and their cost and the only consideration for players is their paycheque and the chance to fight for trophies. Everything else is PR. Each and every player who has ever played for any football club anywhere in the world would do what's b

  14. This. Mano Brazil was led by Oscar, Scolari is led by Neymar. It's really easy to see the difference in both teams... Also, when Neymar has the ball/plays the 10, he doesnt really look for the pass, moreso to draw fouls or to score himself, which is the huge contrast between neymar 10 and oscar 10. However, if Brazil win the world cup, than I guess it was the correct decision...

  15. We actually was after him back when agüero was at atlético. We was going to get both of them instead went for Torres and David Luiz....

  16. Oscar had some key passes in the first half, but went mia in the second half.... Brazil in general went mia in the second half as well...

  17. Well yeah, I remember writing about something like this before. That people saying that Mourinho futbol is boring, park the bus and all that stuff. But I said it was a team of two halves. When Mourinho first came he did tried to implement a nice attacking style, but he had to scrap it after the lose against Sunderland in the Capital One Cup. After that game we became more defensive and counter attacking team. Ironically, this is when Oscar fell of the map and we sucked ass breaking down teams. However as Mourinho stated and I agree with him, we had to change because we was not ready to pl

  18. What makes you think Oscar will play at the 2016 Olympics? By then he will no longer be U23 and would have to be included as one of three over-age players. It's possible he'll go but not very likely IMO.

  21. Oscar talent will always have Croatia type games on occasions, undoubtedly for me he is still a great player. But even in the Croatia game you barely saw him drop deep and receive the ball from the CB and be a distributor and catalyst for the team. IMO that what makes him special and different from other top AMs in the world, he is an old school number 10. If you make him a primary final ball and final third player then there are many AM's better then him.

  24. Your question is pointless. We're not getting James. Monaco bought him for 45 million (I think). Then take into account that Monaco would be reluctant to sell and the fact that he's playing a great World Cup. I mean the asking price is gonna be ridiculous.

  25. Monaco doesn't exactly need or want to sell James, so the point is moot. Even if we do sell Oscar, we won't get James. And striker is our priority.

  26. He looked a broken man after that penalty miss. Chin up lad.

  27. So people still can't see his "potential". Within a span of 5 minutes he created 2 chancea. One for neymar header and another a brilliant cross field ball. Or are narin and kakuta still better

  29. TBH, our pre-season fixtures look a bit meh. I know it's the World Cup year etc and perhaps Mourinho wants the players to have a lighter pre-season but would have preferred if we face at least 1-2 tough oppositions (no offence to the ones we're playing) to test ourselves.

  31. Tell him he's wrong. Fabio went for an undisclosed 'minimal fee' with his contract close to being expired and no idea how much they got for Buttner but can't have been any more than £5m.

  32. So in your non biased opinion do you think he has sufficiently passed the test at club level and is a couple of good games in UCL/top level a better criteria to use than lets say consistency and technical ability. For me the latter is a better measure, especially for offensive players. you should be able to say player A has everything from a technical standpoint (passing, close control, dribbling, vision etc depending on their skillset which usually defines a players position on the pitch) and just needs to work on his tactical game and gain more maturity rather than player B has done well in

  39. so what? this "chelsea fan" stuf nobody cares about. this is football. football is business. who gives you the money is the best club in the world. Özil was also a Barca Fan and played for Madrid and probably tons of Chelsea players didnt give an f about this club before, who cares? thats how football works. Fabregas a few years back talked stuff about Mou and Chelsea and now he is a chelsea player. Figo moved from Barca to Madrid etc also what else should he say at a United Press conference?? "yeah united is aight, but well, chelsea is better" ?? We didnt went in for him so you cant blame him

  41. There seems to be a clear agenda against Oscar from the same few posters in the thread.. Instead of backing your player until he is no longer your player and making him the scapegoat before season starts why not begin with clean slate for 2014-15 and we go from there.. and for Oscar contribution to his national team bar the first half of first game which is down to nerves I can imagine the kid has been good and not average .. In retrospect same guys slandering Oscar for being average in this thread are praising Hazard for a "brilliant" 10 mins vs Russia .. Maybe its time we let these young p

  43. I do feel sorry for Oscar - if he plays bad, he's shit! If he plays well - he's a cunt because he was saving himself! LOL - how can he win? Look at some of the other players - they play in the Championship in England, yet they step up and perform (unlike England team) That's what National Pride does - gives you an extra few percent! The lad is still developing and next season is important - he will continually improve - so please lets not slate him too much, he's a young lad living and playing in a new country - things will always be up/down... Plus he will be more heavily marked in the futur

  44. Costa, cavani, mandzukic and even aguero all missed clear cut chances in the first few matches of the worldcup. I can't judge them off world cup games unless the refree sprayed them with the vanishing spray and they perform disappearing acts.

  47. Been listening to Lupe's Food & Liquor again lately, definitely one of the GOAT rap albums. I understand that releasing an album after such a masterpiece like F&L is tough with all the expectations but gosh, "Lasers" was really a MASSIVE drop-off instrumental-wise.
