  1. Nothing he has said in that interview is out of order. He's massively respectful to the club, to the fans and to Cech. There's this strange desire in modern society to find something to be offended by, to make mountains out of molehills. There needs to be a collective unbunching of panties.

  2. Courtois comments: 'The two of us want to play everything. Nobody will be happy to play in only the League Cup or FA Cup. Things are unclear at the moment,' 'I have the biggest respect for Petr Cech. He is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, so I think putting him and me in the same team is not the healthiest thing in the world' Courtois paid respect to Cech and basically said it wouldn't be right for either keeper to sit on the bench at Chelsea next season. Nothing wrong with those comments If you think there is something wrong with his comments, then I'm afraid you're digging too de

  3. Well said. At some point you just have to take that leap of faith that shows the youngster you actually believe in them. Unless this is just window dressing to counteract FFP, in which case, fair enough. Fucking depressing, but fair enough.I was delighted when Carlo gave those games to Josh in 10-11. It's all been downhill since. I mean I understand the reasons but I wish I wouldn't have to take a deep breath at the beginning of every season and murmur a 'maybe next year'.

  7. Agreed. Eto'o seemed close to Mourinho and spoke highly of him, so to find out he was making jokes about him behind his back must have pissed him off. I have no problem with Eto'o's comments, if anything he deserves credit for how tame they are because I can name many players who would have been more blunt.

  8. The problem with constant loans and using the development argument as justification is that, by the time they have completed the most crucial stage of their development out on loan (around the age of 23/24) a couple of things usually happens that ensures they never break into the first team. The player either loses motivation or becomes frustrated and pushes for a permanent move elsewhere We end up buying the the next hotshot, more established, more expensive, more glamorous, flavor of the month/year (insert your adjective here) player that plays in the same position which makes the loaned pl

  9. cant believe people WANT him here. this guy is a cunt. and not just a normal cunt but a special kind. its shameful how much the fans just love playing fifa/fm that they will WANT any whore of a player. remember ballack and lamps. if this cunt comes here, it will be worse than the benitez appointment.

  11. Here's his comments in full. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01zhnm5 Personally I think he sounds very respectful towards the club and Cech. He's very complimentary and the way I inferred it was that he thought Cech would maybe stick around whilst he didn't return next season. To me he doesn't sound like this monstrous ego demanding to be given the first-team shirt, but simply recognises the problems that having two top-class keepers brings.

  12. His comments are so innocuous that you have to respect the effort that those who are feigning offence are putting in. Seriously, he could've said so many worse things yet the only (barely) contentious thing he said was that he and Cech wouldn't want to play second fiddle to one another. That's in the same interview that he said Cech was a legend and one of the best in the business. The nerve of the man.

  13. No problem because it's honest? So you would have no problem if he goes out tomorrow and says stuff like "Chelsea ruined football by buying all their success and are now ruining it again with defensive tactics" or "Jose is disrespectful and will never be as good as Pep" or "Roman is just a mafia man who has made all his money illegally" if that's his honest opinion? Since when is being honest with the press a good thing?! He should not be talking about what the club and the manager should and should not do and what Cech wants and doesn't want to do next season. The answer to that question is

  14. He's absolutely right in what he said, it was said respectfully and it's refreshing to hear honesty rather than the stonewall non-committal BS that most players are coached to deliver in interviews. Reading the reaction here then it's not hard to see why players are coached in such a way.

  15. Nothing wrong with what he said. If anything he was being straight forward and respectful towards Cech and Chelsea, both the club and fans.

  20. Out of all the managers we have had in the Roman era, Carlo is the only one to have shown anything resembling commitment to the transition of youth into the first team. His sacking set us back a few years in that regard.

  22. Zolayes, How many years we were told that the club is in transition? Too many, I feel. Every year Chelsea goes out to buy players, loan them out, some stay in too. Now, Ake, Kalas, Swift, Baker, Bramford are these players ever going to be part of the first team? As I said earlier, there's something peculiar with this policy.

  23. In Russia, making 20,5 mln per year, after winning 2 African Cups, 2 Intercontinental Cups, a bunch of Ligas and Copa del Rey, a Serie A, 2 Italian Cups, an Italian Supercup, 3 Champions League (with 2 Trebles)... oh yeah, Mourinho saved him. On the contrary, I'd say that, if not for Eto'o, Mourinho wouldn't have a freaking Treble in his palmares. Despite the "problems" in the past between Chelsea and Eto'o, he came here, and while clearly past his prime (that was obvious, you wouldn't get a prime Eto'o free), he gave it all for the team, scored 12 goals in no more than 30 games or so, and sho

  25. I do sometimes wonder what type of 'banter' I'm sometimes missing out on by my amazing ability to ignore Twitter. I guarantee that no-one worth giving a fuck about cares about our training kit being light blue. Do you know how I know this?? Because it's a training kit. No-one has ever cared about a training kit for the simple fact that it's a training kit.

  26. He doesn't say that. Again, listening to the interview rather than reading comments out of context really doesn't make me feel all that outraged. He's massively complimentary about Cech and seems to be making a case for not coming back rather than demanding to start. Do people actually expect him to say that he would be happy simply playing the Cup games? Oh wait, people want boring automatons who don't say anything no matter how bland their comments actually are. Even the Mail can't be bothered to sensationalise those comments http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2635282/Thibaut

  30. His tendency to parry shots straight back in-front of him needs to improve; top keepers don't do that and we'll concede goals if he does it at Chelsea....

  31. Yes, I see you point, but I'm saying that even Jose didn't know that Cahill would be this good, meaning Luiz wouldn't get a look in at CB, but still thinks he could use him in the pivot. Mourinho said at the start of the season that he lies, Its all in his character.

  34. Personally I've never gotten over Jose lying about his team selection prior to the Barca game in 05. What type of manager isn't honest with his team selection and tactics before a match? This whole David Luiz thing is just another example. He should start the season by being totally upfront with the media and opposition managers about his intentions regarding team selection and tactics.

  36. Term X I really doubt City fans will care at all. It's a training kit! And on training gear being the same colour as a team's kit during a match, we've had blue training kits at home before and hasn't been a problem, had white and black ones against teams wearing black or white away kits

  37. He doesn't need YouTube to make him look great. His trophies and 100 clean sheets by age 21 do all the talking. Oh but hey I'm must be defending Courtois because I'm Belgian. Nevermind the non-Belgians calling him the best keeper in the world. Cech is a legend but why would anyone keep him for 5 when you can get a GK at 22 who is top 5 in the world who probably 15 more years and hasn't reached his prime.

  41. So because of that you'll completely dismiss the article because it's not what you want to read? Interesting. Weren't you also one of the chief pioneers that suggested that Fellaini would be a great signing back then? Look how he's panned out at United as a real DM... Doesn't mean that you're wrong about everything as well. Anyway, very interesting and very well written that article, challenges your views on Luiz as a CB. Very interesting read.

  46. You guys slagging Eto'o are morons. He has every right to be upset, he made important contributions to the club this season. Jose needed to show more respect and in the end it burned him. Move on its a lovers quarrel and won't effect the squad going forward. Eto'o is a proud man trying to carry on his career and Jose may have damaged his value a bit... nothing more nothing less.

  48. I do seem to remember that we had all our MFs - Matic, Ramires, Lampard and Mikel - fit and available at certain points during the second half of the season but yet, Mourinho played Luiz in the pivot as well and he's now even praising him for having the ability to play in midfield! It just kinda feels silly that he said he won't play Luiz in midfield and the next thing we know, he does just that whether intentionally or enforced.
