Well then this proves that he had been fed up for quite some time. Can you imagine being the world's best striker at one point and then having to play in the Europa league against awful opposition while all the best players (and best mates) have already left the club, watch your one-man team again have to fight for a Europa league spot in the league when Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal are just so far ahead of you.   2. The way Liverpool reacted to the whole thing was pathetic. They made it seem as if it was a last minute betrayal and they weren't given any time, whatever. It's a FACT that Torres was disillusioned with the club during all that Hicks and Gillette nonsense. He was promised many things by them and they didn't deliver. They let their best players in Alonso, Arbeloa, etc go. He probably wanted out at the beginning of the 10/11 season but decided to give it some time. Then he was managed by Roy Hodgson...   3. Don't think the LFC fans felt the same righteous indignity when he left his boyhood club Atletico to play CL football. Funny, the sentiment was more like 'yeah, he's a great player, he can't be expected to stay with a mediocre team, he can only do so much for them, etc...' Maybe, but I generally get the feeling that Chelsea fans are much more level-headed and do not have the enormous sense of entitlement that LFC fans have.
