I dont think its a terrible idea keepin him but i really hope mancienne is more game time dan our older squad players like ferreira and belletti

yea he could be useful wit mikel in an 'alonso and macherano' type partnership wit lampard in front of them,two wingers and a lone striker.. But i was hopin j.cole might take up a central attackin role this season

GK RB CB CB LB DM RW AM AM LW S 4-5-1 come 4-3-3 The standard keeper and back four. A disciplined holding midfielder (Mikel or Essien). Two central attacking mid fielders ( Lampard, Essien, Ballack, J.Cole or Deco) Two out and out wingers to supply much needed witdh we havent had much of since the Mourinho days. Left side- Malouda/Zhircov.. Right side J.cole/Aneka/Sinclair Lone striker (Drogba/Sturridge) I think this formation best suits our most consistent attackers (Lampard and Drogba).. For Lampard to really flourish I think a 5 man midfield is a must!! The 4-4-2 with Lampard on the front of the diamond sounds good also but I think de better teams would over run us in midfield with dat so maybe keep the 4-4-2 for when we want to break down the weaker teams in the prem (or need to go all out for a goal) and then de 4-5-1 come 4-3-3 for the bigger games.

Like i said in a diff post I think one more striker is required.. I think Sheva and Pizzaro will (and should) be cleared out and with Drogba in the ANC in jan/feb we need a player to lead the line like Drogba can as Anelka just doesnt seem to lead the attack and give defenders hell like Drogba does.. Even tho he is quality and chips in with plenty of goals I think he can go missing and doesnt lead the attack well.. Imo not having a striker with the same quality AND leadership skills like Drogba has cost us the last couple of years when Drogba has been out!!! I just dont understand why we were never in for strikers like Torres, Berbatov(I still think he could come good) or even Benzema!! I think Abramovic is probably scared of spendin big money again cos of how Shava backfired.. I'd love to see Ageuro come to the Bridge, but not for over the odds money if thats possible nowadays!!

Exactly!! I think thats our only weak point when Drogba is gone.. I mean if Anelka picks up an injury around the time of the ANC we have a very inexperienced forward line.. They are very good prospects (Di Santo & Sturridge) but at de end of the day they're only kids.. I'm all for youth policy but not at the expense of major silverware.. taking all that in mind does anyone have any suggestions?? I dont know whether i'd prefer a long-term, possible world class youngster (eg Pato/Aguero) as they could hinder the development of Di Santo & Sturridge or an older short term replacement. P.S I know Pizzaro and Shev are still on the books but im hopin dey will be gone by the start of the season as they arent nearly good enough for Chelseas standard

Agreed. I think it was a good idea to keep a quality and experienced player like him for one more year. He is past his best but remember there is The African Nations cup on in jan/feb!!! So we will need him for cover(Mikel & Essien) and if there was a penalty shoot out in the later stages of the CL he'd be second on my list of takers after Lampard.
