  1. Not fair... he pads his stats with own goals! Seriously though I think Cahill is very weak 1v1 but in our current formation he's allowed to be more of a covering defender and he's been just fine there. I definitely admit his attitude and goal scoring abilities are praise-worth.
  2. i heard this too and so retract my criticism. Was just looking an excuse to take another dig at Cahill. Until next time...
  3. I think a true captain would have handed Terry the armband.
  4. If my understanding of Eden is correct, that he's a quiet man who loves his family and just wants to enjoy his football and not get caught up in all the bulllshit we fans do, and so he's likely to enjoy staying at chelsea a long time so long as we remain competitive, then performances like last night will and should earn him the love he deserves from our fans through thick in thin. immense performance last night in spite of all of the targeted attacks. Stomped on ribs, bloodied mouth, stepped on fingers, constantly hacked down, and he didn't change the way he played for a second.
  5. Watching him play against Barcelona right now. He gives the ball away needlessly and doesn't show any sort of intense work ethic at all.
  6. You all think this big of a sale at age 29 is worth it when he'll be 30 by the next time he's leading our line in a CL game??
  7. if changing your entire attitude and approach towards defending is easy... then sure.
  8. To take nothing away from anything you said, because it's all true... My point is that there shouldn't be any talk of "we finally found our formation!" "yeah _____ should definitely start!" because I'm not quite sure anything Conte did actually caused that win to happen. Because it was hull. With a lowercase h.
  9. I remember ferreira, bosingwa, baba... even luis had nightmarish moments. So far I appreciate a steady left footed presence and letting the heart and soul of our defense, Dave, to be free on the right. NOT TERRIBLE.
  10. Haven't had a chance to watch him in a full match yet, but these highlights show that he is just an absolute nightmare for defenses... ruthless.
  11. hah! I tried to figure out how to change my username/handle, could't figure it out. But now I feel like it stands as a lesson to all those who get excited about a young player.
  12. Why is no one here talking about how kante got turned horribly by ozil and left our two CB's two on two with two of the most lethal players in the league when they're on? Why is no one talking about how he was incapable of coming deep into our end and receiving the ball from our CB's to get possession started? I think Kante is a solid player, but a lot of people want to hate on Oscar and Matic and say that Fabs doesn't deserve to start on these forums and then nothing on this player? Let's be consistent. Kante searches for tackles and exposes our defense. It worked with LCFC because they stayed so compact and sat back. It doesn't work sometimes for us, which means he is quite tactically faulty... something everyone wants to criticize DL for.
  13. I wouldn't mind moses starting sometimes, or bats and letting willian be the make way. however, i bet if he had a proper outside back working with him on the outside going forward he would be 4 times as effective.
  14. I don't get why people think that the arsenal game was case in point for why he shouldn't start. 1. I think we play best when fabregas comes back deep to get the ball. This means that I don't think think playing him #10 is best for us. I agree he looked ineffective there. 2. How is he supposed to get the ball when kante is the one trying to get the ball from deep. At one point you had David Luiz screaming at kante to just be brave enough to stand between the two center backs far in our own zone, and check for the ball, receive it and turn with it. Problem is, he doesn't have that quality. He tried it a few times and was shambolic. Fabregas is the closest thing we have to a pirlo in that sense. 3. I love how people want to blame him for being weak in defense when we've given up how many goals this season that had nothing to do with him or he wasn't even on the field for? Especially when everyone is claiming kante is a shoe in starter and then he gets turned like you all imagine fabregas would get turned by ozil, leading to the second goal. come off it.
