  1. i have not been on here for ages so this may have been mentioned before. The fact is whether you back AVB or not there is a factor that will get him the sack 100%. We saw the start of it today, its when the fans vote with thier feet and we do not sell out our home games. Even if Roman is adament he will not be sacked, he will have no choice if there are empty seats. The next home league game is sold out so he may be ok for now....
  2. Villa are the most negative team in the PL. This wont be parking the bus, more parking the QE2 Ferry!!!!!
  3. In order to get something from this game then AVB must stick to the same tactics as against Valencia. Obviously with Luiz out I am sure Iva will be switched to CB and Bos coming in at RB. The key will be keeping the side compact when we do not have the ball. Due to the lack of pace of the JT/Iva partnership, then Romeu could even sit in as a third CB and nulify the attacking runs of Silva and Nasri through the centre if they both play. Dzeko will be food and drink for JT but Balottelli or Augero will drop deeper to pull out one centre half. Mierlies and Ramires will need to keep an eye on Toure as he is a great allround midfield player and could hurt us. Mata and Sturridge will also need to be disciplined and keep the shape of the side on either flank, helping out Bos and Cole. Going forward our best option is to utilise both Mata and Sturridge, Richards may be unfit so we could get some joy down that side. I think Sturridge is our most important player for this game, thier left backs (Clichy and Kolarov) are not great defensively, so we need to use him as the outball every time. He defensive display will also be equally important as Bos will need help. Let them come onto us and hit them on the counter with patience and discipline being the key.
  4. Congrats - a worthy winner. Cheers Fulham Broadway and Krypt for the mention, unfortunately I am now gonna b a bit limited on here as my work have put a block on Talk Chelsea!!!!
  5. forget the striker, the most important thing for us is the midfield 3. If Romeu Ramires Mierlies play we win this game if mikel plays instead of romeu and Lampard instead of Mierlies we wont. Drogba is ok up front flanked by mata and sturridge. just hope avb keeps the same side v wolves as that team deserves to start.
  6. Appointment is for tomorrow.......
  7. This seems to have fallen well, well off the radar in the gutter press due to the Gary Speed situation. It took a man's life, for them to drop it and move on....bastards..
  8. Yes thanks, but gotta go in tomorrow for the extraction.....dreading it.
  9. it looks like Anelka is defo gone in Jan so I can sense a rebuild in the next transfer window. Obviously Anelka's spot free's up one space but his situation is alot different to Torres. Torres will be very difficult to shift, I cant see anyone buying him in the next window even if we made him available, but i could see a loan till the end of the season somewhere(with us still paying a % of his wages no doubt).
  10. Agree entirely....surely he could have gone out of the house to do it??. I also believe that something will come out, the inquest starts tomorrow.... Personally, i think he was hit with some sort of bombshell news and made up his mind. I don't buy into the depression thing in this case. I have seen many people with severe depression and suffer breakdowns. The first thing you notice is thier lack of health and dramatic weight loss(they usually look very worried). Speed looked a picture of health and i can't believe a suicidal man could have put on that display on football focus... I also don't think he was a coward, no matter what your mindest, it takes a brave person to hang themselves from a low height(he was found in the garage). He must have suffered before he died, can't see that drop killing him instantly....a coward would have OD on pills and booze...
  11. Maybe he wanted to keep him fresh and raring to go against Liverpool on Tuesday. If Torres does not start Tomorrow then I think AVB could be looking to out him from the club...
  12. It all comes down to what attributes AVB wants from his CF to fit into his match tactics. One thing is apparent though, chopping and changing does not help either player or the team. Regular games is the only way for either player to gain form or momentum. Personally, I think Torres is a better player than Drogba and would pick him but if AVB sees Drogba as the CF we have to get behind him 100%....
  13. His work rate has improved since last year true, but don't agree he has worked extremely hard in all games this year. At the start of the season yes, but I had been watching him closely in the last few games he played and he was just jogging around in the box, not making enough effort to get onto things. I think Torres is better than Drogba and needs a run of 5+ games to show this. As I said on here before I dont think AVB has managed him well. However this latest episode may be correct, when Torres comes back into the side he may well show the effort levels of the beginning of the season...
  14. stats this year: Torres - 14 apps 4 goals 3 assists - 50% rate Drogba - 10 apps 2 goals 1 assist - 30% rate This includes Torres last 2 late subs appearances... Torres is more effective than Drogba, although Drogba did work hard against Wolves closing down opponents. This is where Drogba beats Torres on effort put in....maybe being dropped for a while will give Torres the kick up the arse he needs to work harder...
