I wouldn't even be surprised if some of those players - even Pellegrini himself - weren't sort of relieved about being beaten by Wigan ( forever though) just so they don't face Arsenal or have still another match to add to their piled up scheduled.

They'll crumble, the pressure is too much and I think it could become even worse if they lose to Barcelona. Then they'd be defeated in their spirits, even if they'd have less matches to cope with.

Nine points is a lot to look at and having the obligation of winning all your matches to make sure you catch up... I don't think they can cope mentally with that.

Regardless City will have the pressure. Whether they were trying to win 3 more trophies or just the league each situation put a different set of pressures on their guys. If they drop out of all tournaments and focus on the league then the pressure to win that one trophy will be huge. I think either way City have a shit load of pressure on them and especially their fans who have been running their mouths all season about winning a quadruple. Teams like ours and City have a lot of inherent pressures to fill up trophy cases.
