I won't be overly concerned or disappointed if this ends up being another APOEL or Newcastle v2. Resting seniors and playing kids is all we have to do now at this stage of the CL, results don't matter.

Well APOEL was a draw. We only need a point to win the group. And if kids get their chances it will be ok.

Doesn't Cech deserve a rest? There's no risk in this.

I just think that any game that Cech doesn't play is a guaranteed loss with the backups we have. Turnbullshit was only brought in for the homegrown rule imo. (I'll admit I don't know the ins and outs of that rule but he's useless)

Josh is going to play as a holding midfielder, that is what carlo has said. Josh will be wasted in that position in my opinion.

I think he's wasted too, but Mikel does play every game, hopefully he can keep some stability...

I will guess, but i think that is good for his development, he will have plenty of ball posession.

indeed

On Borini: If I was him, I would leave Chelsea. There's no future for him even though Carlo USED TO like him and call him the future Inzaghi.

Glad we might see some more fight in the team, I expect PVA to put in a great performance

Agreed. Essien can be used as a holding midfielder letting Josh play in Lampard's role.

I'd love to see Kakuta used in a central offensive role but I'm afraid we'll shove him in the wing once more.

I just wanna see us put some chances away, and this is the perfect opposition for that for sure, i'm happy the youngsters look to be playing and the main guys can get a bit of a rest. I still think we'll batter this team regardless who goes out there. Kakuta needs to shine, he's looked really nervous this season when he's been on and i know he's got the makings of a world class player. Hopefully it's his day on Tuesday and he can build from it. He must look at his position and think he's got a great chance of being a first team regular with the likes of Anelka out there and Kalou. If he suddenly turns it on, there will be no going back for him and Kalou can fuck off.

FINALLY!

Ancelotti said: "Josh will start against Zilina.

"He is ready because he has personality and he will play an important position on the pitch as a holding midfielder.

"I think he can put in a good performance. He is able to do this.

"As well as McEachran other young players will be involved in the Zilina game. There's Kakuta, Van Aanholt, Bruma. I want to change things for this game.

"It is important. We can use this game to give the opportunity to young players to improve their experience. We need to take one point and it is possible to win.

"If I have the possibility this is the way I have to manage the club and the team. There are a lot of games and sometimes you have to change."

Good to see the youngsters finally getting a chance. No Borini though <_<.

Josh in the holding midfielder role... waste of talent if you ask me. You can already see this guy is a ''final ball specialist'', something attackers absolutely love and something we have been seriously lacking. Our players just pass the ball around with no imagination and lack that great vision. Josh already has that imagination and great vision yet the coach choses to use him in a defensive role (pray to God he's not thinking of molding him into a DM). Really don't understand the decision.

Don't see anything wrong with Josh in the holding role, He can get the ball and dicate the play. He can get forward aswell, But I think it will suit him, like the Pirlo role. Kakuta needs to take his man down the line and skin him.

Josh playing in the holding role restricts him too much. I want to see josh in an advanced midfield position playing little one- two's with kakuta.

Like Messi and Pastore couple of days ago. :D

You will need to wait some time for that. Playing him in that role is probably decision for his qucker development. You know that when Josh plays advanced role he doesn't have that much ball at his feet.

Not true. It's Chelsea vs MSK Zilina not Chelsea vs Arsenal or Barcelona (posession football teams). So expect total domination in terms of possesion. And i doubt playing simple short passes and dribbling with huge amount of space and very little pressure from opposition players is good for the devolopment of a attacking midfielder.

I don't think he'll be given the holding role.

I am dreaming ?!! Four youngsters will start the game ! Wow, Carlo, you impress me.

No-one said starting (except for Josh). He said they'd be involved. Whether that's from the 0minute or 45th or even 80th is anyone's guess xD
