Did anyone watch the Spanish Super Cup second leg? I'm glad Atletico won (beat Real 2-1 on aggregate) - I think they can definitely still compete this season despite losing key players. Simeone is a great manager.

With Real Madrid, they definitely spend too much on attacking players -their defence was all over the place on several occasions. Think they'll be in trouble when they come up against other top teams this season.

It's rather scary to think Simeone and Mourinho are extremely similar in their coaching style. It's like they are clones of one another.

Mourinho is far more collected during the intense matches than Simeone. Cholo has issues with losing his temper when things get rough.

True but I wouldn't say Mourinho was the most collected of managers either in his early years. It's only in recent years that the latter has mellowed.

I never felt AVB was a Mourinho type even when many of our fans said it then, but with Simeone, I feel he's the real deal.

Ancelotti's genius saved them last season. Playing maria as a RCM was a stroke of genius.

But simply can't see an encore with the types of players they have at their disposal.

A mid of isco-kroos-modric is over kill.

And when CR comes back, it becomes worse with james dropping back for isco.

Ancelotti has his work cut out this season.
