So JT and Lamps are out, looks like DD will be our captain? Lol. Anyone think different? I mean I think he deserves it and he would be very happy and honoured to captain his beloved club lol. I know he will do a great job and guide us to victory so I don't think anyone should have any worries or doubts lol. Drogba is a leader.

Cech wouldn't be the greatest captain in my view; he's quite quiet for a goalkeeper. I wouldn't give it Cole, either, he just doesn't exactly strike me as leadership material. In all honesty I'd give it to Drogba; he's one of the leaders on the pitch even though he doesn't wear the armband; when he comes back and helps to defend its pretty inspiring, so he's my choice.

Big Drogs got it for me. You always hear that Lamps, JT, Drogba and Cech are like the main 'leaders' at Chelsea, in terms of their communication with Roman and Carlo. But i think it'll go to Drogba, i personally dont like GK captains anyway

A goalkeeper shouldn't be the captain, with all due respect to Cech, a captain has to be in direct contact with the manager and everybody on the pitch throughout the match. And nobody seems better suited for this job than Didier for me - maybe Malouda is close but Drogba's still far ahead of him in leadership as he's running up and down all the time and talking with the players and the coach.

indeed and Italy won a World Cup with a GK as their captain,many GK`s are captains on the continent...it all depends on the player rather than the position tho..

i think Drogba or essien are the best choices. but my view of leaders is that if u are a true leader, u lead with or without the armband. that's the one (or ones) who makes the real difference on the field
