All true, but renewable energy is not in plans for oil companies. Also, solar equipments are still too expensive to buy now.

Oil companies spend millions of dollars each year to promote the "global warming is just a myth" BS.

You're right, solar panel installation is still very expensive. We're caught in a bit of a dilemma when it comes to solar power right now. The prices won't go down until the market booms and production increases significantly, but the market won't boom until the price goes down. There is some hope with liquid-metal batteries since 60% of the cost of solar systems are the batteries and liquid-metal one will decrease the cost significantly.

The music. Got me up when the video started playing. :P

And that talking, well nothing surprising. You always sound funny anyway. :Goober:

It's Apocaliptica playing Metallica's Nothing Else Matters.

And how do you know that's even my voice? :P

Oil companies have no desire to promote an alternative energy. Their share holders do not want it, those who deal, work in oil industries do not want it...etc.

Basic solar installation, flat panels, tube solar collectors are costly. For a small house, 20 tubes panel, heat exchanger, retainer tanks, frames, clamps...etc, bottom cost is over 4,000 Eur. It takes over 10 years to break even, savings on energy costs. People do not want to fork out 4 thou for it. They would rather pay 5-8 Eur more monthly, but keep their money needed for solar panels in banks. I have dealt with solar collectors before. My brother owns a company that sells it. Currently, sales are down almost 82 %.

That's all very true. That's why, in the video, we tried to convey that an energy "culture" revolution is needed. It has to be something we look to integrate into our culture and societies. Not do it just for the money, but for the belief that we need to do it for the sake of our future and the future of our children and grandchildren. All alternative energy makes little sense short-term atm (except maybe wind energy), but we need to change our perspective if we are to avoid a true disaster in the future.

Thank you guys! I still have to study a damn lot for the second exam. Also I'll only be sure I have been approved on december 26. They have only released the answer sheet and I did well enough to be approved, but I have yet to see my name on the list after Christmas :P
