Milan will probably sign him and we do not need him.

Milan? Are they even being linked with Pjanic?!

The most speculation I've seen regarding Pjanic is that AVB is keen to get him. Other than that, there have previously just been minor reports that Real Madrid, Arsenal and think City are interested in him.

Milan are interested in Pjanic, as are Tottenham and Barca. Jose Enrique was so impressed by him that he personally recommended him to Barca. Can we please not let him go to the evil power? Lampard replacement with real fire in his belly. We need him.

Always liked the player, back in days at Lyon he was beasting. But since his move to Roma, he didnt fulfill the potential yet. Defo a very skilled player, but we should go for him only if he can play in double pivot role, Modric esque. And bring De Rossi with him too, seems like they are not realy wanted by Zeman and Roma...

Lampard replacement with real fire in his belly. We need him.

We have plenty of Lampard replacements in our ranks with De Bruyne already good enough to play regular first team football at this level and then we also have McEachran bubbling under. So I wouldn't exactly go as far as say we need him. A quality player but I believe we're better off investing the money in someone who has more experience of playing deeper in midfield, not someone who can be used there if we force him to play out of position.

He's been Roma's best player the last 4-5 games since Zeman has embedded him in his starting 11. He's also a free-kick specialist which is wonderful. Here is his goal against Lazio in the derby recently;

I watch him for Bosnia-Herzegovina as well, and he's always the best player on the team, even at such a young age. Already has something crazy like 50 NT caps (including friendlies) under his belt.

Here is also an article on him:

He's amazing. Simple.

And you know what our team lacks? Competition for places.

Why do you think our players are so casual and play with little drive and heart? Because they all know (well, Mata and co, Terry and co, Torres etc.) that they're automatic choices no matter how badly they perform.

They don't need to put effort in if they can't be bothered.

Pjanic would keep Mata, Hazard, Oscar on their toes.

As for this being bad for De Bruyne, judging from his recent interviews, I doubt he'll make it here. He seems to think he's a little better than he is. He wants to be a starter. He's said if he's not a starter, he'll just move elsewhere. How on earth will he start over Hazard/Mata/Oscar though? Play in the double pivot? If so, then this Pjanic move doesn't effect him.

That's an excellent point mate.

I've even noticed that Hazard has stepped up his game over since Moses started playing better. It will be interesting to see how Oscar performs during his next start as he hasn't been starting as of late.

I dont think we need him...we have many young players who have not been given 1st team chance, and loaned out..and for 15m++, this guy will be possibly a wate of money..

I think we need a purchase like Ballack or Deco (I mean experience player who have a strong mentality that can help the team during the game)..or at least someone who can be trusted or reliable..Dont mind if the player 28 or 29..

For me, player's character and experience are important in a big team..that is what we lacking of nowadays..I remember the time when we have lampard, essien, ballack, deco, makelele.

Young players are good fof future, but we need to react to what happen now!

Agree. We have a lot of players that could be great in a few years. We need more players who are in their prime right now.

Pjanic's prime may be ahead of him, but he's a player you can plug into the starting lineup RIGHT NOW, not in the future. He's not a wonderkid or a talent anymore, he's starter quality and he's only going to get better with the years.

Don't know. This year he's started about half the games for Roma so it's not like he's dominant or anything. Yeah, he's started the last six games and he has real quality, but he'd be another player bought for potential rather than for right now. Not sure if he's good enough for Chelsea starting XI at this moment. Anyway, two points

1) We already have four starters at attacking midfield and if we buy anyone there (and I don't think we need to), I'd prefer it to be another player who brings natural width rather than yet another central attacking midfielder who can play on the wings if needed. We have three of those right now. Where would Pjanic play? We probably should be replacing Ramires with a more fitting player in the centre of the park which means that our bench would already be Moses/Oscar, Ramires, Marin, Lampard. Not to mention the possibility of De Bruyne coming back next season. Players will never reach their potential without regular playing time and no way does Pjanic come to Chelsea and start most games unless a couple of people get hurt.

2) We need to improve the team for right now. When you buy players for potential, you overspend based on their current ability.

I like him, but we have enough of this sort of player right now. There are dozens of excellent young attacking midfielders (Eriksen, Goetze, etc...) but you can't buy all of them just because they have incredible ability.

'It's an honour to be linked with a team like Chelsea, the Champions of Europe and their interest flatters me. But I've got a contract here at Roma.'

'Could I replace Frank Lampard ? Well he is a Chelsea legend, he's given so much to the club and I hope that I can achieve something like that in the future.' - Miralem Pjanic
