Wigan: Kirkland, Melchiot, Boyce, Bramble, Figueroa, Thomas, Rodallega, Diame, N'Zogbia, Scharner, Scotland. Subs: Pollitt, Amaya, Cho, Koumas, Gomez, De Ridder, King.

Chelsea: Cech, Bosingwa, Carvalho, Terry, Ashley Cole, Essien, Mikel, Malouda, Lampard, Drogba, Anelka. Subs: Hilario, Ivanovic, Zhirkov, Paulo Ferreira, Kalou, Belletti, Borini.

<H3 class=headline id=headline>TEAM NEWS: WIGAN ATHLETIC V Chelsea </H3>Posted on: Sat 26 Sep 2009Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka return to the attack but there is no Michael Ballack so both Michael Essien and John Mikel Obi play.

The rest of the team resumes to the one that played versus Spurs so midweek goalscorer Salomon Kalou is back on the bench where he is joined by Yury Zhirkov, Paulo Ferreira, Fabio Borini but there is no Joe Cole.

Wigan make two changes from their last line-up, both in midfield. Jason Scotland and Paul Scharner, brought on as subs in the big defeat at Arsenal, start. Jason Koumas and Jordi Gomez are dropped.

Chelsea will line up in a 4-1-2-1-2 formation as follows:

17 José Bosingwa

6 Ricardo Carvalho

12 John Mikel Obi

5 Michael Essien
