Chelsea vs Queen's Park Rangers

chelseahome.png

Carling Cup, Third Round, 23 September 2009, Stamford Bridge, 1945 KO

Chelsea host Queen's Park Rangers in a mouth-watering West London derby at Stamford Bridge as the two sides lock horns for a place in the Carling Cup Fourth Round.

The two sides last met in the 2007/08 FA Cup, where Chelsea, under Avram Grant, emerged as 1-0 victors thanks to an own goal from Lee Camp, who saw a shot from Claudio Pizarro bounce off the post and ricochet into the net off the English goalkeeper.

Carlo Ancelotti's Chelsea are a different prospect for the Championship side, however, as the Blues will be red-hot favourites to beat their rivals.

We could be putting out a very exciting team for different reasons in this game. Will be great to see Joe Cole and Ferreira back, also to see Zhirkov and possibly Matic in action. My team would be:

................................Turnbull..................................

Hutchinson.....Ivanovic........Terry...............Ferreira

..................................Mikel.....................................

..................Belletti..................Matic........................

.................................J.Cole....................................

....................Borini..................Sturridge.................

Although i think that Kalou will more than likely start in place of Borini and Lampard instead of Matic and i don't think Matic is quite ready (only played 45 reserve minutes so far)

Either way it is an exciting prospect, also expect to see Bruma on the bench for this one too.

I think we'll see Lampard and Terry, and Ashley Cole (or could he play Bruma?), but other than that we'll see some second stringer. I expect we'll see Ivanovic, Alex if he's fit, Ferreira, Joe Cole, Deco, Sturridge and probably Kalou and Mikel.

......Henrique Hilario......

....Paulo Ferreira....

......Branislav Ivanovic......

......John Terry......

....Yuri Zhirkov....

...........Jon Obi Mikel...........

.........Frank Lampard.........

............Deco............

...........Joe Cole..........

.....Daniel Sturridge.....

.....Fabio Borini.....

Subs:

Ross Turnbull

Alex

Ashley Cole

Jeffrey Bruma

Nemanja Matic

Michael Ballack

Salomon Kalou

(Would have put Matic playing, but hes not had much playing time in the reserves,

mthats why i picked Lampard to start instead of him)

Ive rpobably slipped up but its the team id LIKE to see playing vs QPR..
