I really do like Cricket and love watching T-20, ODI and Test cricket and I do hope England retain the Ashes. I understand how each of the formats work but the only thing that does my head in is fielding positions like wider, sillier, finer etc.

Silly is if they are closer. Finer is closer to the keeper. :)

They say England are an old fashioned cricket side. So old fashioned that they just returned to the 1990s.

Same old story from England. Bowling attack = one of the best in the world. The batting card, however, is pitifully weak. Carberry deserves his chance and Compton should also be opening, Trott and/or Cook should be in the nets learning how to attack a cricket ball.

I couldn't believe waking up at 3:36am yesterday morning, checking my phone and seeing we were 94/8. I thought i was having a bad dream or something. It's getting to a stage where we need to actually stop picking the same old shit and give real domestic in form players a chance. I like Carberry but he's a bit old and more of a one day specialist to me. Compton definitely should be opening, no question about it and he's young. He has time to grow into the side, Carbs doesn't.

Cook needs to sort himself out too as does KP, Trott and Prior. We were lucky last time, 3-0 was extremely undeserved. We won't get away with it out there. I did hear that bad weather and storms are forecast though? If we get away with a draw here they'll be gutted.

This will end in a hurry. Carberry, a tad unfortunate but Trott was awful. Cook and Trott didn't really perform in the summer but since Bell, KP, Root were scoring, it didn't bother England too much but they've got to improve here.

273-5. Good day of test cricket although the catching could've been better

Yeh...and like always, we'll probably see one of Australia's tail make a 40+ run contribution tomorrow..

Hopefully England's top order can deflate the Australians once we get the chance to bat

Cook is still the man to lead the test team. His personal form has obviously been poor (even in the one day warm up match) but class is permanent and he will come back soon. By the sounds of it the players and Flower still back him, lets see how the one dayers go!
