Miroslav Stoch

Born 19/10/89 in Nitra, Slovakia.

A Slovakian junior international regular who made his debut at Under 21 level last season, Miroslav joined Chelsea in the summer of 2006 and signed professional a year later.

Accomplished with either foot and with a low centre of gravity, he can play as a second striker or out wide in a front three and enjoys taking defenders on and shooting.

He was the youth team's top scorer in the 2006/07 campaign with nine goals from 20+6 appearance as well as two after breaking into the reserves.

Last season he managed two reserve goals again, from 10+3 games while in the youth team his 10 goals from 14 games were the second best tally. An FA Youth Cup ever-present.

This year Miroslav has made the step up to be a regular part of first team training sessions, and made his debut as a late sub in the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

We have to play him more. Its time now really to give Stoch, Sinclair (hes on loan i know but hopefully its his last loan, hes better than malouda) and Kakuta a chance. Look at villa, they have been outstanding this season because they use youth and hunger. Surely its bout time we used these guys, even in the Carling Cup and FA Cup. Ipswich on Saturday, why not?

His Crossing is NEAT!!!...specially the last cross was great, which ultimately lead to the goal.

Thats one of Stoch's great strengths is that he can put an excellant ball into the box. It will be good to see him given more chances now, but at the same time it would be silly to build expectations of him up too high because people will be too quick to knock him down if he has an off game.

Wish it was him that scored the winner last saturday, i was right behind the shed end goal when he hit that shot straight at the keeper, shame it didnt go in.

It was a shame, but the fact he made the room to shoot shows enough of his ability to know he will be a threat in any game he plays in. He will score goals if given the oppertunity, and set up plenty for others too.

Couple more energetic youngters would work wonders -like Yernited have done, and bring the combination of experience and yoof

Agree, it would be the best policy for us. Especially if they are our own youngsters and not going to cost us millions. Stoch and Di Santo done more than enough to warrant chances in the rest of the season.

A few more are knocking on the door as well i am sure. Jeffrey Bruma is aparently training on a regular basis with the first team now. But if Mancienne can't get games then Bruma certainly won't.

Attacking players have the oppertunity to get themselves noticed this season - Which is why Stoch has a great oppertunity now after his impressive performance against Stoke. Kakuta could find himself with some chances too.

Any aspiring footballer would want to hear Frank Lampard and Luiz Felipe Scolari's opinions about their game, especially if they're positive.

For Miroslav Stoch that happened this weekend.

After a dramatic two-goal comeback on Saturday afternoon, Chelsea TV captured exclusive interviews with the two Chelsea men, both of whom were extremely impressed by the young star.

'I said to Stochey before he came on that he needs to bring his character into the first team,' said Lampard, speaking to Chelsea TV.

'I know what it is like when you're young, you don't want to come on and shout at someone, when you get the ball you make sure you pass rather than dribble and Stochey, when he does what he does for the youth team and in training, can be a big asset for us.

'He has done very well, and Saturday's game might be a bit of a turning point for him. He'll believe he can come on and change the game, because he has done that now.'

Lampard was obviously impressed by the Slovakian, but there was another man who was as complimentary over his performance, and that's the manager.

With 82 minutes gone Chelsea were 1-0 down and it was time for a change. So with all-out attack his objective, Scolari replaced John Mikel Obi for the young Stoch, and the effect was instant.

Playing on the right, the youngster immediately proved a difficult man to keep track of, and, after 10 minutes of football, it was Stoch's cross that led to the winning goal.

'That was fantastic. Miroslav did very well twice and crossed, we scored and it was good for us,' explained the World Cup-winning coach.

'It was good for the young players because the young players need an opportunity.

'But whoever gets this opportunity needs to prove themselves, not only for me, but for the people and for the older players.

'Next week maybe the players will believe more in the young players.

'But I say to all the young players, there are good rewards and I will always give the young players an opportunity,' added Scolari.

some boring united fans were gonig on and on yesterday about their young talent when i suggested we had some promising youngsters they laughed their heads. off would be nice to see them get some chances this season and i hope that if whats looking more likely on current form we dont win the title or champions league that we dont sell them and buy past their best big names
