I agree calling him a legend is a over the top.

But you can't deny his class in a Chelsea shirt? He may not have been how he was in Germany but was certainly important.

He was never a Chelsea legend, but he certainly is a legend in the game of football for his achievements with Bayern, Chelsea and Germany.

Anybody else thought of Ballack and wished he was still part of the squad to lift that CL trophy?

:(

We probably wouldnt have won it....if he was with us........

Joke!!

But I dedicate this cup to Ballack, they guy deserved it in 2008 and 2009.

I did. Felt a bit for Joe Cole as well. Others like Carvalho, Anelka and Deco have at least once lifted that trophy during their careers, but not these two. Still, you have to remember that there are other extremely good players that have never won it in their careers.

This CL is so special because it is for those great squads we have had in the past decade. They were deserving of being champion of Europe, but luck wasn't on their side.

Ballack was so unlucky, he comes in 2nd so many times in major competitions. You would think he is cursed. But no doubt he is the most complete midfielder of his generation.

If he had won some of those competitions i have no doubt he would be as highly regarded as Lothar Matthaus.

Thought of Joe Cole too, more of Ballack because how unfortunate he was.

why the fuck is Joe no one being mentioned on Ballack's thread ,,,It is an insult to the guy who oozed class

Because about a year ago I said this: "Ballack showed more loyalty and passion to this club than that one Englishman who claimed to be a season ticket holder as a lad."

It's on the previous page...

capriccioso and Manuf like this

Wonder what Ballack was thinking during the CL final.

He must have been thrilled for his friends and ex-teammates, but sad for himself. :(

Poor Michael.
